This is a beautiful 1.2 mile drive. There are pullouts for taking photos and a number of trailheads along the way. So many colors it is amazing. The fee to enter is $35 for a car and the pass is good for 7 days to all the national parks. We bought an annual pass for $80, which is a better deal if you are visiting a number of National parks.

In one of the least visited car-accessible sections of Zion National Park, this is the thing everyone does: drive Kolob Canyons Road.
The five-mile road starts at the visitor center in Zion's Kolob Canyons section (see my revew, "Zion National Park without the hassles") and ends at Kolob Canyons Viewpoint, whose 6,000-foot elevation affords a great view of Kolob's parallel box canyons with 2,000-foot walls. Don't miss the great interpretive signs at this viewpoint, pointing out landmarks such as Beatty Point (elevation 7,520 ft.), Nagunt Mesa (elevation 7,785 ft.) and Timber Top Mountain (elevation 8,055 ft.). This area is higher, and cooler, than the main park. The "feel" is "Yosemite" (without the spectacular waterfalls).
Despite climbing 1,000 feet, the road is an easy drive, even for those (like me) who fear heights. Lots of pulloffs along the way (one of our favorites: Paria Point) plus bathrooms and a picnic area at Kolob Canyons Viewpoint.
TIP:
* Kolob Canyons Viewpoint doubles as the trailhead for Timber Creek Overlook Trail (see my review, "On a clear day . . . ").

Cette courte route qui tourne entre les falaises rouges et oranges de Kolob est une balade agréable qui amène au bout à un magnifique point de vue !

We drove this road from beginning to end and enjoyed every bit of it. We had a clear Fall day and the colors of the rock against the blue of the sky were a terrific contrast and made for great photo opps. It was pretty busy the day we hiked here and as some parking lots with trail access that we hoped to hike were full, we decided to drive to the end and just do the hike to the overlook. The views were breathtaking and the hike was fairly easy. Highly Recommended!

2019年の秋に尋ねました。コロブキャニオン側はわりと最近、整備されたところが多いようで、とても快適に過ごせました。景観もよく、道路も整備されていました。ただし、坂道なので雪の季節は注意が必要です。

A gorgeous drive from St. George and up the Canyon Road arriving at the end of the road near sunset was a great experience. We hold have loved to do a short hike during our trip but the only hikes available were full day expeditions except the final hike at the terminal parking lot whose views were less dramatic than the views from the parking lot.

We had been to the main section of Zion many times but decided to visit the Kolob Canyons also. Did part of the lovely Taylor Creek walk and this canyon drive. Gorgeous. As with all (most?) of the parks and monuments, pets are allowed but not on the trails.

If heading into or out of Zion National Park from/to I-15, it’s just a few minutes’ detour to take exit 40 and drive the Kolob Canyon Road to the lookout at the end end. There are also some serious hiking possibilities and camping for more thorough explorations.

This is a quick five mile drive to a very nice overlook. Absolutely breathtaking. On our way back down, we saw bobcats scampering across the road. At the bottom lot, several people were painting the valley - it is that impressive.

Yes you could use the 5 Mile Road with your RV. At the end you have plenty of space to turn around. It's a dead end road. But there's no Lake at all... :)
