An amazing place and one can do meditation or Jaapa near the kund.. I did the same here . You can feel the energy here and no non sense from purohit unlike Tarapeeth and Kalighat.This place was in my bucket list .. trying to cover all the shaktipeeth. Jai Ma Kankali

One of the shaktipeeth . Very beautiful temple. Peaceful and serene environment. People of temple very friendly.

Neat and clean temple and no-nonsense by priests. Plenty of e-rickshaws ply to this template so easily accessible. Abundant free parking space next to temple makes it even more convenient to just drive down.
We went their in the evening around 530pm so could not roam around the temple.

Kankalipith is one of the Shaktipeeth and must visit place which is near to Bolpur, Shantiniketan. There is a holy pond/Kund where devi waist portion fall. A temple has made beside that pond as a remark of parbati devi. A photo is placed there instead of idol. This place is very clean & peaceful but that pond needs to be clean and tidy. There is no panda system. If you wish you can buy puja dali outside of temple. This temple is situated bank of Kopai River. A old lord Shiva temple also situated beside parking area. This place is developing day by day. There is huge car parking area. This place is well connected and anyone can go by toto reservation.

We visited Kanakalitola, Maa Kali shrine. It has 2 forms of darshan. One for offering Puja which usually long queue. We have to buy Puja material and stand for our turn. The temple administration does not have enough staff to regulate crowd. There is usual push and mighty making their way. The other form of darshan is quick, no puja. Only darshan. The entry point for both is same. We cannot stand there because of crowd and concern for making way to other devotees in line.
Since it is one of the shaktisthal, it has lot of divine significance. It is 8 kilometers from Bolpur and a desirable visit. Having gone that close, we should pray for Maa Kali blessings by having Her darshan. In the same precincts, there is a shrine of Lord Shiva. Now under renovation but we can have darshan. Maa Kali without having Lord Shiva's darshan is incomplete. The parking is available for Rs.20 per car.
Those desirous can buy coupon of Maa blog and have it. I was told Bhog coupon can be purchased from many Bhog outlets. The temple administration oversees the arrangements.
I felt very satisfied that I could visit Lord Shiva and Maa Kali shrine. It took 2 hours to go and return from Bolpur

The place is one of the most sacred places I have visited in India. But another reason to remember it is Babu Chatterjee. We visited during winter so my mother had a coat on her. Before entering the temple we left the shoes and coat at his stall. When we came out and boarded the toto to return in half way we realized we forgot the coat. We thought of returning back to the stall. Suddenly we saw a bike approaching calling out for us, it was Babu Chatterjee Stall number 10 he came all the way on his bike searching for us to return the coat. It felt so wonderful that such honest people still exist.

Kankalitala is one of the famous satipeeth in Birbhum because 1) It is very near to Bolpur and 2) People can feel the vibration of the goddess .
But now a days due to Modernisation , it is loosing its originality.

Hail mother Kankali.We have no right or dare to rate the place.It is one of the Shakti Peethas where the waist of sati fell.Goddess Parvati is the residing deity of the Kankalitala Temple.It created a depression in the earth which later filled up with water and formed the sacred kund. It is repeatedly told that the actual body part now lies underneath this water.Very clean and maimtained. The diety room has no idol but a photograph of Maa Kali. There are many shops who are selling the offerings like sweets,sarees,garland and many more.Visit Birbhum,visit kankali.

A disgusting temple where animal sacrifice is practised. Going there and paying for puja just means you are endorsing animal sacrifice. The atmosphere is nice but the temple is horrible. Unless you are religious, just refrain from visiting this place.

My first visit. Very clean temple complex, well maintained. Instead of idol there is a photograph of Kali Maa. Takes hardly 15/20 minutes to reach there from Shantiniketan. Enjoyed my visit here.

opening is 6am. closing may be 5pm
