I was traveling with my husband on Royal Caribbean cruise. We wanted to explore this beach. It was fantastic. Beautiful beach. Have chair umbrella rentals. Best rum beach. So love the people that have rentals and food on the beach. You definitely have to check out this beach when you visit this beautiful island! ❤️🐚🏝👍🏻

con uno specchio d’acqua dai colori brillanti , e non perdetevi assolutamente il tramonto sul quale si affaccia .
Noi abbiamo avuto il privilegio di venirci più volte nelle nostre quasi 2 settimane antiguane.
Anche se non volessi l’ombrellone con le sdraio ci sono più punti d’ombra sotto gli alberi .
L’unico neo , se vogliamo , è la costruzione a sud della spiaggia un vero e proprio obbrobrio, è il resort “Tamarind Hill” , dove siamo stati 1 volta a pranzo ( buono ma carissimo) .
Puoi parcheggiare l’auto proprio vicino la spiaggia e godersi il Max Relax , è mediamente frequentata .

Hands down my favourite beach around Jolly Harbour in Antigua.
Scenic and anchored by a big hotel called Tamarind Hills and Denis’s Restaurant and beach bar.
In between just pure beach & beach chairs. Closer to the Tamarind Hills hotel it is nice and quiet. Find a spot and enjoy the view! Apparently Denis’s restaurant boasts the best sunsets in the island.

Absolutely lovely beach. Used the shade of the trees on the beach and had chairs and umbrella and towels from our home owners so didn't need to rent the chairs and umbrellas being sold (nor were they in great condition).
Gorgeous water, cheap, strong drinks at the little bars set up there and extremely pleasant day. May go back during our 8 day trip, although so may more to explore...

Lovely clean beach and beautiful clear water. Lots of sunbeds & umbrellas and local beer sellers. We found the Little Mermaid Beach Shack for beers & rum punch.

All the beaches are public and not private. This particular beach is small, but does the trick. The hotel has security on sight. Some great vendors along the beach. Bought some great trinkets.

Best beach visited over the week in Antigua.
Lovely sandy beach. Good snorkelling but would advise that you should be a confident swimmer as it gets deep quite quickly.
Jamil’s shack was fantastic. Doesn’t look impressive so don’t be put off by appearances. Ate there three times in a week and no hygiene issues. Food was of a standard you’d find in a good restaurant but don’t expect fine china or silver service. Great memories of eating Ital, steamed fish and BBQed lobster on tables made from tyres. Partner Samantha is a lobster snob and said the lobster was as good as anything she’s had from fine restaurants in London, Paris, St Martin or Italy.

Calm waters, soft white sand, beautiful beach. There is another beach around the corner that had nice views. Good way to spend the day in Antigua.

Clean, quiet and calm. It was warm... No, hot.... Yes that's it.. Hot. But the water felt just right. It's a must do when you visit Antigua

I have never been to Ffryes beach as part of a cruise but I am aware that some of the cruise ships organise trips there. If you want you could just get a local taxi to take you there from St John's. It is probably 20 - 30 minutes drive depending on traffic. You can rent your own sun bed and have lunch at Denis Cocktail Bar and Restaurant on the beach. You should have no problem getting a taxi back to the ship.

Fit for a Queen.Yes I highly recommend the beach and there is a restaurant called Dennis Bar and Restaurant you will not be disappointed.

Hi...I have slight mobility issues. If we took a taxi from the cruise port to Ffryes Beach, how far would I have to walk from the cab to the beach? Is it flat or hilly? Thank you!!

Yes. Just ask the driver when you get in for a return. Tell him the time, and he will be there. Ours introduced us to the lounger seller, and she reminded us well in advance that he was going to be arriving soon! In the rare case of them not being there, there are plenty of others all the time. Most of the drivers are related to the lounger sellers so they tend to work in harmony, and I am sure they could rustle up a cab in a second if you wanted to leave early.

When you get off of your ship, you'll go through the Port building. There are many tour vendors and taxi's available. Don't be afraid to do a little negotiating!
