I am part of a group of instructors that bring High School Groups to Bonaire every year. We use Scubapro gear almost exclusively so when we went to this store for the first time in 2020 we were very pleased to see a well stocked store with our familiar products. The staff is technically very knowledgeable. On this trip, my mask had the siliicone tear away from the frame, resulting in constant flooding. Since I had $350 worth of bifocal lenses bonded into the mask, just buying a new mask was not a solution. The sales and tech guys, Alex and Andy took on the challenge of disassembling my old mask and inserting the faceplate with my lenses in the same model mask. They weren't sure it would work but I had nothing to lose, I came back 3 hours later and had a new mask with my old faceplate, I would rate this business as one of the best retail operations I have experienced in over 50 years of diving,

Jeg tok Open water etter e learning hos Dive friends Yellow Submarine. Instruktøren var Duncan. Han var kunnskapsrik, pedagogisk og vennlig. Den beste instruktøren jeg kunne tenkt meg.

We are glad to hear you had such a great experience with your Open Water course with Duncan.
You came in for your course in the morning and told us you had a ruptured eardrum. Unfortunately this meant that you were not cleared to dive do to medical reasons.
We are glad that you were able to get doctors approval a week later to finish your course with us.
We are sorry to hear you you did not agree with our first decision of diving with a ruptured eardrum, but we cannot take responsibility for that.

We did the DSD and Hidde was our dive guide. He did a fantastic job at explaining the equipment, what to expect, and what the experience was going to be like. Hidde was exceptionally clear with his instructions and directions during our dive under water. We always understood the route, when to descend, or to ascend from his clear signals. We enjoyed it so much we did a second dive. We would recommend Hidde and Dive Friends Bonaire for anyone starting with scuba or an experienced diver.
We cannot wait to go back and share another great experience! Thank you again Hidde and Dive Friends Bonaire (yellow submarine team). See you soon!

De meeste medewerkers van YELLOW SUBMARINE zijn zo niet geïnteresseerd in je. Ze doen wat ze moeten doen. Maar daar houdt het ook echt op. Doe eens alsof je je werk leuk vindt.

Overall, it was a great experience with my instructor Koa on the PADI advanced course. He was very thorough, highly professional, and offered advice, tips, and insights all throughout the two days of rigorous, but fun learning. In addition, all the staff I interacted with were super friendly and professional. Top notch employees and just good people here. My only problem comes from the management side. After my course, I rented some equipment and a tank for 3 air fills - and pre-paid for all of this. I was only able to dive once given some ear issues (but that was a great dive at Karpata). When I returned the gear and tank, I requested a refund for the 2 tank fills I did not use. Staff telephoned their manager but they declined to give any reprieve giving no apparent reason. That just left a bad taste in what was a great experience. Essentially, one dive cost $66 for air - even the staff agreed they saw it as unfair. It is a shame for the business, as I was about to purchase some t-shirts and gear, but after that unfortunate decision, I decided to take business elsewhere. I have to say, I'll think twice about diving with Dive Friends again, and will definitely get my air elsewhere.

Onder begeleiding van duikinstructeur Koa een erg mooie en prettige duik gemaakt, voor mij de eerste echte duikervaring. Duidelijke instructies, veilig gevoel en laagdrempelig. Bedankt voor de mooie ervaring. Zeker waard om hier te gaan duiken!

We hebben een geweldige duik gehad onderleiding van instructeur Koa. Hij geeft duidelijk en professioneel uitleg op een leuke ontspannen manier. En het voelt veilig en vertrouwd.
Ook de rest van de dive friends zijn geweldig vriendelijk en behulpzaam.
Zeker een hele dikke aanrader!!

I went diving with Dive Friends in November 2022 and Tess provided a winderful trip at 2 different dive sites. The whole island is a marine sanctuary so the sea life is plentiful everywhere. Dive Friends are setup with dive shops at every site so getting any kind of help or service is instant. Dive masters are very knowledgeable.

Hi! There are indeed age restrictions for courses. We follow the PADI standards. For entry level courses this is 10 years old. Please send an email with your request and we will give you all the info you need for the course. You can find contact details on our site.

I spent a week diving Bonaire in January. Only shore dove. It is so easy and comfortable to shore dive that I would only consider boat dives if you wanted to go to dive sites inaccessible from the shore and those are on the weather side of the island or far to the north. To shore dive, you only need a rental truck that is available from numerous companies. The shore dives are not crowed, often you will not see another diver in the water. Make arrangements for 3 days of unlimited air (and equipment if needed) with Dive Friends and you are set to dive approx 70 shore dive locations.

Bellafonte on EEG Boulevard in Belnam is very nice. VIP Divers has a tank exchange program with them. They should have 1br condos with two beds, however, no bar or restaurant. Kitchens are nice, but the grocery store is a 5 minute drive. You really need wheels to get around.

Hi Dina, I actually don't work for DFB. You should contact them directly (which you can do via email - check out their website by googling Dive Friends Bonaire). They do have a location in Port Bonaire right across from the airport, which is a couple of minutes from the pier, and taxis are not expensive. I don't think they provide pick up. The Marine Park is the entire island with the exception of a couple of spots - it's incredible, over 80 different sites (check out the dive site map on DFB's web page or by googling dive sites Bonaire). DFB will be able to recommend a dive that is also good for snorkeling (there are a lot). Enjoy your (too short) stay!

Hi, we will be visiting Bonaire Jan. 9-16/ 2016 and staying at Sand Dollar. My better half wants to scuba certify. He's hooked thanks to some nice snorkeling trips. How can we make certain someone at your shop can teach and hopefully certify this man during this visit? Do you schedule lessons according to demand or a schedule? If a schedule, he wants to be on it. If by demand, be warned, we're coming! LOL

Would there be transportation available for 4 people to and from the cruise ship? I have been certified for diving, but have not done a deep dive in more than 3 years. One of the two teenagers, that will be part of the group of 4, went out on a shore dive for the first time in Cozumel with me and a guide last year. His Dad and his other son, are the other 2 members of the group. It would be the first time for them. Would we be able to go out together on a tour? What would be the cost? We will be there in Feb.

Absolutely, you can either get tanks, weights and gear right at the shop across from the dock or arrange for a boat dive. Just send them an email. They are very accommodating. And the site right in front of the dive shop is usually loaded with morays, seahorses and frog fish...
