Beautiful and very well maintained architecture, it is worth paying for the guide with headphones to learn what each room contains, it is the oldest in America so it gives an impression how well preserved it is, if you are not a fan of history in 15 minutes you finish the tour and you can continue knowing its surroundings

The first thing you feel is the freshness of the place. You have to pay to enter and it is short the visit but it would be wrong not to do it. A lot of people stayed out. I didn't buy an audio guide and regretted it later. There was very little difference in money.

The church is beautiful inside what caught my attention was the roof. The system of knowing the history by milestones I found interesting, you get some hearing aids and equipment to hear details.
On the outside it is seen as deteriorated as it is quite old but inside it is quite the opposite.
It is to visit if you like the cultural and the heritage.

Oldest church in the new world: the availability of an audio guide in Russian has made it much easier to get acquainted with this grand religious site - founded in far away 1525, inside very beautiful and majestic, on the way out a crowd of merchants, and immediately find yourself in Plaza Columbus , to get acquainted with the historical center of Santo Domingo this cathedral is a must-visit

This is the oldest existing cathedral in the Americas begun in 1504 and completed in 1550. Built in coral limestone and in Gothic style with three naves and 12 side chapels, it features an excellent art collection of ancient wood carvings, furnishings, funerary monuments and jewelry.
A number of former Dominican Republic presidents are buried there.
This a function church and has a dress code and has a basic entrance fee of 60 pesos (free for kids).
This church is magnificent inside and out and is a must visit in the Colonial Zone.

Huge and very beautiful cathedral inside. It is well moved so it gets a little difficult to take pictures. It is worth the tour both inside and around the cathedral. You pay a very cheap ticket for visiting. At night she's all lit up.

Santo Domingo Cathedral is a Catholic church built in the Gothic style in 1514 - 1541 in the historic centre of Santo Domingo. It is the oldest cathedral in America. In 1990 it was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Having visited many religious monuments, this one was a real disappointment. First of all, you can't come in if you don't have your knees and arms covered but only if you're a woman. Having a proper outfit is quite normal, having long clothes in great heat is complicated. Fortunately, you have some fabric on loan. As well as audio guides in several languages, one for two people. It would be wise to explain how it works because it was only halfway through the visit that we understood it. Very quick visit by the way, barely 30 minutes even returning to all audios. No candle or candle to light, too bad. The comments of each chappelle are really poor in detail, we are disappointed. The staff at the entrance is neither smiling nor particularly pleasant.
