‪The start of the path is hidden between some houses so not easy to find, but if you ask thensomeone will point it out to you. There is a short (15 minute?) pleasant walk through the rainforest to get to the falls.

I thought the falls were pretty impressive - much larger than I had expected, and the area around them was really pretty. It would be a great spot to take a picnic and have a barbecue whilst cooling off in the pool at the bottom.‬

‪About a 10 minute walk (or longer if you want) along a very natural (ie, nothing man-made looking) winding path down to the falls. Our guide was great and we tipped him $20 USD: I'd suggest a guide if you want to go swimming or stand under the big fall. Only passed one other group of tourists. My friend who I was with has been to several other waterfalls on the island over the years and had never been to this one, hence why we chose it. It was her favorite due to how "natural" everything was, no concrete or man-made items, quiet, not many otheTheTHer visitors. I would highly encourage anybody (if they're physically able) to let your guide show you the small distance swim and then climb to get under the big falls. I also highly encourage swimming in the lower falls. More area for swimming. Water was cold but in a very refreshing way (and I am super cold natured so this surprised me). There is a small entrance fee and then the tip for the guide. I would recommend tevas or geckos, etc if you plan on swimming or climbing rocks to get under the big fall just so that you won't get your socks all wet or half to walk barefoot on the trail between the two falls afterwards (like I did because I just wore running shoes and socks). We also had a 2 yo with us and each one of us took turns watching him while the other was swimming: he really enjoyed playing with the small rocks, etc.‬

‪This is my favourite waterfall in Grenada. It is a beautiful, tranquil place without the hullabaloo that ruins some of the other waterfalls on the island.

Mt Carmel is a bit of a drive from the west coast but it is worth the trouble. And the actual hike is very short and easy, no guide needed. However, if you want to hike up to the top of the waterfall or slide down the rocks on the lower falls, it is best to go with a guide who knows what they are doing. Plenty of eager guides are available at the entrance to the falls.

Check out my blog post on Hopping Around the Globe in Style for more details on visiting Mt Carmel Falls.‬

‪Came to Mount Carmel with my friend who is new to hiking. Our guide escorted us to the falls giving my friend instructions how to navigate the hills. He was super friendly. The falls were super beautiful! We didn’t stay to swim but the swimming spot looks fun! So happy we came to see the falls! ‬

‪This one has easy access - 5 to 10 minutes walk on a simple trail (you don't need a guide - although at entrance there are guys offering you this service).
Once there, you can enjoy quite an unusual view. Unlike most falls, this one is very wide, a straight rock block with water pouting over its top. Quite picturesque, and quite easy. and you can have a swim in pool under it.

A word of caution - on a rainy day path gets muddy and slippery, keep it in mind.‬

‪We paid and went to the pond. There was a waterfall, but it wasn't big.

We decided to explore further and we found a majestic waterfall. It was huge and beautiful. The Royal Mount Carmel Falls was falling on the rocks.

We were the only ones and we enjoyed our lunch while admiring the waterfall.

This is truly a beautiful waterfall.

This is a must see!‬

‪Took a short trek through tropical rain forest and came upon these falls. The setting was spectacular and the pool for bathing was very welcome on a hot day. My friends and I met some locals along the way and they insisted that we share some of their local food, which was scrumptious. Grenadians are very welcoming people.‬

‪Finding the entrance is the difficult part because there is no signage or real entrance. You just walk between two structures, kind like going through an alley but instead you wind up in nature. There is usually a local there saying to cars passing by that the waterfalls are this way, so keep an eye out for that and they will direct you on where to park and take the payment from you.

A guide isn't necessary, the path to the waterfalls is very straight forward and takes less than 10 min to walk there. Lots of locals like to hang out at this location, and we saw lots of children having fun on the water slide falls. The water is refreshing and in February was comfortable enough to swim in.

There are some make shift changing rooms if needed.‬

‪This set of waterfalls is a hidden gem, only know to the locals. Cruise ships do not run excursions here, but for $5EC you can hope on the #4 bus and get here in about 40 mins. there is a $2entry few as it is on private property.
We got a tour guide "Akim" who was wonderful helping keep my fair Sheryl from falling while climbing some the rocks to get to the falls.
There are two sets of Falls about a 5-10 min hike, the taller ones look like a bridal veil and have the longest plunge on the island at over 65feet. Jumping in behind the falls is quite refreshing.
The lower falls have a "natural slide" there are two levels two it, the lower one is about 15 feet worth of sliding, and if you take the upper you get about a 40 foot slide in total.

If you have a "guide" you maybe be able to visit the neighbouring property. He has a small garden built upon an old sugar plantation, the ruins are stunning and he was a very gracious host. He gave us fresh fruits and spices to try, some homemade moonshine, it was wonderful‬
