Très beau parcours faire des randonnées mais il faut avoir absolument un droit de passages quatre dollar à faire 24 heures à l’avance et il y a beaucoup de monde très peu de place pour station

This was a great uphill hike to get your steps in....I loved it. bring plenty of water and even a snack to enjoy at the tower.

We hiked to El Yunque Peak from the Mt. Britton Tower Parking area. It is a very scenic and enjoyable hike and the views from the peak on a clear day are amazing. From the top you can get a great view of the peaks and valleys of the National Forrest, see the Atlantic to the north, San Juan to the west, and the Caribbean to the south.
Although from the parking area El Yunque Peak looks far away and high up, the trail is well marked, well maintained, and comfortable, and the climb and change in elevation is easily manageable. When you reach the fork for the Mt. Britton Tower, the trail to the tower is to the right. It is a short hike on a spur trail and the tower is worth the visit. The service road to El Yunque peak is to the left, and the hiking trail to the peak is straight ahead on the left. I recommend that you take the trail. The road to the peak is smooth and paved, and the distance is shorter, but it is very, very steep. The trail to the peak is longer, and rocky and uneven, but it is much more scenic and the change in elevation is much more gradual.

This is a long hike but definitely worth it. Make sure to bring a lot of water and snacks or a lunch so you can stay up there for a while and enjoy the view.

I and my friend trekked to the peak of El Yunque on 12/12/2019. The trails and views are so good.
Few Notes:
1. Parked at Caimitillo parking (limited number of parking around 20)
2. Took the El Yunque peak trail-->Mt.Britton Tower --> El Yunque peak. (small waterfalls in between)
3. We took walked on the road from Mt.Britton tower to peak instead of taking trail.
4.The trail is muddy and slippery. No bugs/mosquitoes,
5. Carry rain jacket, it rains often for like 10 mins.
Enjoy the view.

Bei unserer Wanderung im El Yunque Nationalparkt machten wir uns nach einem Abstecher zum Mt. Britton Aussichtsturm auf den Weg zum El Yunque Peak. Der Blick von ganz oben war atemberaubend, die Wanderung war aber durchaus anspruchsvoll. Wir haben vom Parkplatz aus ca. 2,5 h bis nach oben benötigt, auf dem Rückweg haben wir einen kürzeren Weg genommen. Durch die zu überwindenden Höhenmeter und die hohe Luftfeuchtigkeit ist diese Wanderung nicht zu unterschätzen. Mit einer gewissen Grundfitness und festem Schuhwerk ist sie aber gut zu schaffen (deshalb begegneten uns auf dem Weg und auch ganz oben immer wieder andere Menschen) und der Ausblick von oben entlohnt die Mühe auf jeden Fall.

This trail is trail is a must, specially this time of the year, not too much rain and travel is cheaper. I will recommend it to anyone who is adventurous.

This is a great place to go espicially if you have young people and teens. Walking can be slippery so if you have anyone elderly or disabled still go but i recommend a tour that will take you through safely. The first time you go a tour guide is helpful so you make sure not to miss some of the coolest spots. However if your adventurous you can go on your own and just follow people. You will have lots of fun. Wear sunscreen have a waterproof case for your phone (not water resistant) and youll definitely want to take video and pictures.

People coming back said the views were spectacular, but it was more than this retired couple could handle. We settled for Mt Britton.

Can you ride a 4 wheeler up to the peak or is it strictly walking?

I apologize for the late response, and although it has currently become difficult to travel to Puerto Rico under the current circumstance. I would assume that you would love to travel to this beautiful country in the near future. You can only hike once you enter the Yunke. Before your hike you can drive up the hill to park your car, although I'm not sure if other motor transportation is allowed other than a car.

In my opinion I feel a toddler would be really tired. I actually saw a family that had kids that were around 5 years old, and I remember hearing them say that they were tired, thirsty and hungry. The hike was about 45 minutes. You really have to be ready to walk a lot especially under the hot sun.
