To advertise this as a tour of the rum making works is completely misleading. Rather, it is a talk about how the products are made and then everyone is escorted into the tasting room. For $15 you get a taste of four different runs and the opportunity to purchase cocktails.

$15 for this so-called "tour", but it is literally nothing more than a 10 minute presentation on brand history/rum making process and a very measured tasting. Don't expect to see the actual distillery, nor taste the molasses, nor the cane juice, and sugar cane is imported from elsewhere so no fields either. Venezuelan "tour guide" accent so heavy that she was difficult to understand and truthfully, information wasnt interesting or unique enough to strain myself. Typical corporate cash grab. Get em' in, take their money, get em' out, all while showing them little and offering them less. Post "tour" cocktails available for $5, so plan on paying extra for that.
Tours like these are often intended as customer acquisition tools and to develop brand loyalty, but Captain Morgan offered the true pirate experience, leaving me feeling pillaged & plundered to the extent that i wont ever support this brand again.

When trying to contact by phone it will eventually go to voicemail. The website informs you to email schedule a tour/tasting. Doing this however did not yield a response, and I still haven’t received one even a business day after the email was sent.
On entering, you have your temperature checked and immediately told there are no tours or tastings going on at this time...oh an the bathrooms are broken...however...
As I am walking around the store there is the bar and tasting room area where a group appears to be just doing that; enjoying cocktails/tasting etc.
When I inquired about this or join that group for a cocktail/tasting, I was dismissed immediately by the women up front and she became irritated that I asked or inquired further about tours or tastings.
I then asked why their website isn’t up to date or there isn’t some sort of notification with their phone service like the other Rum Distillery where theirs mentions no tours or tasting. Furthermore, if she had answered one of our several call or responded to my email we would have known to not come at all.
This inquiry lead to an outburst by the staff member saying she was to busy to do so, and did not have time to answer the phone or respond to emails...
She then more or less yelled at my wife, mother in law, and father in law to leave immediately and to stop asking if we could do a tasting as there weren’t any going on at this time...despite a tasting (maybe a secret tasting or gathering) going on.
Don’t waste your time here, especially if you want to do something fun before your flight back. I would instead go the botanical gardens nearby or the Leatherback Brewery for food, beer flights, and much friendlier staff.

We stopped here to check out the gift shop and after having our temperature taken, we entered. She then informed me my mask was too thin and she was not comfortable with me so I was asked to leave the store. I did so and she kindly answered my questions. Unfortunately for them, my son opted not to buy something he wanted because she basically kicked me out. We all had the same masks on. She had a medical grade mask on. So, after a normal temperature, an approval by the usvi to come here and everyone in a mask, she was not comfortable. Apparently masks don't work then.

I do not know where those negative reviers went to, but our tour was well received, lots of things to see and do for about 15 minuted before given a briefing on how their rum is made. (The tour guide seemed to be proud to be showing us the process and the step to making their rum.) Patricia D. nailed it on what we experience also. Great helpful and informative staff, the presentation was very interesting. They even threw in a funny list of different pirate phrases and their translations (many of these phrases come from the British Royal Navy!) I think it was because Captain Morgan was in historical fact, an admiral in the English Royal Navy! Rum tasting was actually very good we received 4 samples with different flavors and how to use them in mixed drinks. You also received your choice of one rum cocktail! Finally the gift shop. Some Captain Morgan souvenirs, rums, t-shirts, hats, and even some other alcoholic drinks that are (I am sure) part of their corporate holdings. The booze was reasonably priced and close to the prices on the ship. ( I even shelled out some good money for a Captain Moran 3 cornered hat! Altogether a pretty good visit, beter than what we had at the Barcardi Rum factory in Puerto Rico!

Went on a Saturday and it was closed. Then we went on a Wednesday when it was opened and the only we were allowed to do was shop at the gift shop. Appears there was a cruise ship at port that day and only the people who pre paid for the tour were allowed to do tastings. It was a disappointment.
From the looks of it, the prices of their alcohol and gifts at the gift shop, are pricy compared to Cruzan.
If you want to tour this place, don’t just go on a whim. Make sure you buy a tour before hand and/ or call them ahead of time

There is no "tour." Lone cashier opened the locked door and allowed us to look around the foyer (about 5 minutes if you drag your feet) then on to the overpriced gift shop. No movie, no tour guide, no one but the lone cashier offering a $15 tasting. Don't waste your time on this huge disappointment.

We had read some bad reviews about this place but we were pleasantly surprised when we visited. Lovely ,helpful, informative staff. I was quite surprised how small the tour was, however, it was very interesting. Very funny list of pirate vocabulary and their translations. It’s amazing how many of the phrases come from Royal Navy terminology, which is not surprising as captain Morgan was in fact an admiral in the English Royal Navy!
Rum tasting was actually very good too. You got 3 shots and one cocktail. Finally the gift shop. Some expensive souvenirs, some reasonably priced. Altogether a pretty good visit

The facility opens at 10am and you can begin with a brief tour, but not of the distillery itself. Instead there is an interactive section near the gift shop. There you can read about Captain Morgan- a real privateer, aka government sponsored pirate- and the rum's founding father, Samuel Bronfman. There are fun photo ops and a place to send a "message in a bottle" to whomever you choose. Then it's onto the tasting room. (If 10:00 am is too early for you, a noon tour is offered as well.) Our bartender Thays was very knowledgable about the different styles of Captain Morgan rum and poured out several samples to try. Then based on how we reacted, she crafted a specialty cocktail for each of us that was yum-mee! For adults, I highly reccomend a visit here, especially if you are a Captain Morgan fan. Children are allowed, but I dont know how much fun it would be for anyone not of legal drinking age.

We've taken friends and family here over the past year and a half we've lived on the island, and everyone always enjoyed the history part of the tour, outside tour, and the tasting. We were sad to see the tour has changed to a more commercial dumbed down version, showing more fun and games, and less of the history of Henry Morgan, rum of any brand, and the island we now call home.
The outside cart part of the tour is gone so don't expect to see the tanks and the distillation workings. I'm told only people like me enjoyed that part and most like to stay inside enjoying the AC and drink. We were happy to see the video section, which was basically around 10 minutes of Captain Morgan commercials over the years, is gone. You now get a basic explanation of how rum is made, followed by a short excerpt of the real Capt Morgan, then go on to taste their rum. They used to take their time and address each visitors needs during the tasting, but now they pour for everybody at once. Don't get comfortable during the tasting, the booths are gone and replaced by little stools. I believe they have forgotten about island time and make it more of a cookie cutter mainland tour.
The renovations should be completed in a month or two, but it's fine tuning and not adding any of the old attractions.
If you want to drink rum and don't give a crap about history then go to Captain Morgan. If you want to see how rum is made, and also enjoy a better tasting, go
to Cruzian Rum after Captain Morgan.

I agree with all of Islandhops statements, there are taxis from the cruise ships, and Cruzan is actually a little more "hands on" and you do get more samples at Cruzon. I've toured both 2-3 times during a number of trips to the island Also, you can get more of the printed sample glasses free at Cruzon.
