The view from the top of the island is spectacular for Mayans bay. Once there - The services could be better. Very little seating and the food is crazy crazy expensive ($19 for a bagel expensive).
There are bathrooms and the Sun loungers cost $20 per day. It’s about $5 pp to get in and a couple of dollars to park.
The beach ends in a steep shelf not far out so make sure your kids can swim.

First, if you are not going on a cruise pick a non-cruise day to go. The views were amazing and the water was so calm. Bring a towel, snorkel, and mask but don't worry if you don't have fins because it is easy swimming. We saw so many turtles in the late morning and schools of fish along the rocky edges. They have covered picnic areas and several picnic tables you can use.
There is a rental place for snorkels etc. There is a fee to enter the park and a very twisty road to get there but it is worth it. (There is a bar/ food area there that takes cash or credit- not 5 stars but still OK). We were there on a rainy day in May when the cruise ships weren't there and it was not the least bit crowded.

Nice beach, nice swimming, waters are calm. We did encounter sand fleas and what they call sea threads making the experience shorter than we wanted due to discomfort.
I preferred Coki but Magens is better for getting in and out of the water easily.

Pristine beach. Calm water, smooth sand bottom. Changing rooms. Bar where you can sit and enjoy looking at the clear, aqua water. Snack bar. Great beach to swim and relax. Highly recommend! It does cost to enter and park as it’s run by the port authority, but very reasonable.

Beach is gorgeous. One of the best I’ve ever visited. Don’t forget your snorkel or you can rent in the spot.
Expect to pay $15 per person to get a taxi each way, plus $5 beach fee plus $20 per person to rent a chair with umbrella in the only one restaurant there. You can also find some shade if you are lucky as the cruises fill the beach with visitors. For beach chair and food you can use credit cards, for transportation only cash.

Used to be one of the best beaches in the world, now not so much.
Got to Magens Bay, parked next to a Toyota Camry, oops doing a drug deal.
I recently had my knee replaced, told my wife if I lay down on the beach, I don’t think I can get back up. We were supposed to have beach loungers, tough luck first come first served.
We left and we won’t be coming back. I know this isn’t an airport and you don’t need to announce your departure, but if you are at all mobility compromised, you should choose somewhere else

The beach itself was fantastic. The way things are run, not so much.
First off, I'm disabled and use a mobility scooter.
Access to the water is extremely limited. To rent a chair and umbrella is $20 per chair. The sign in the office states each chair comes with an umbrella, that's a lie.
I paid $40 for my wife and I only to be told they cannot bring the chairs or umbrella over to where the handicap accessible section is.
Why didn't the girl behind the counter say that at the beginning?
It was painfully obvious that I was on a mobility scooter.
When we went outside to actually get a chair (that's when we were told the chairs can't go outside a certain area).
There was one young lady who helped us, her name is "Lekaya".
She went above and beyond to help us. She brought 2 chairs over to the handicap accessible section and got us a spot in the shade, (She wasn't able to bring an umbrella).
She single handedly saved our beach day. She told us at the end of our stay that she had gotten reprimanded for bringing the chairs to that section of the beach.
We were also told at the beginning that there was a "wheelchair" that they could actually bring me into the water with, well we didn't see that until we ere already there for 2hrs and by then we only had about 30 minutes left to our beach day.
If it wasn't for Lekaya, this review would have gone in a whole different direction.
Instead of being reprimanded, she she have been praised for her "customer service".

The beach itself was beautiful. However, the girl processing credit/debit cards for the chair and umbrella rentals was one of the rudest people I’ve encountered. Throwing peoples towels/bags off the chairs she thought were not paid for, which they all were as a receipt was provided and taped to chair as requested. She returned chairs with an attitude and no apologies whatsoever. We witnessed this a couple times during the hours we were there. She was terrible and we will never return.

Magens Bay is a pleasure to visit. It’s beautiful white sand beaches and it’s easy to walk out quite a ways from the short line. The waves are minimal but just enough and the view is amazing. The BAR STAFF was fantastic and the food was good. A great place for families. Apply sunscreen often and take it all in. The lifeguards were cool and loved to to chat it up. Only one thing was awful. The staff left a HORRIBLE IMPRESSION at the umbrella and chair rentals. From the beginning, they were incredibly rude not even acknowledging us when we came out to make a purchase. The lady there acted like she was mad at us for bothering her. We were told to grab the flat chairs to take to our location and immediately the staff that was to move the chairs for you began arguing with us. And when I say arguing, I mean yelling at us for not understanding what they were requiring of us. If they could’ve been civil and polite and just explained what they needed I wouldn’t have been so pissed. Honestly, I would never rent for them. I would never recommend that YOU rent from them. You’re better off sitting under the pavilion and you’ll get more shade from that then one of their umbrellas.

Nice, clean beach with beautiful water. Great stocked bar, but I wish they wouldn't use so many plastic cups on the beach. The food options were good, the jerk chicken sandwich was nice.

Is it easy to get taxis to and from the Havensight Port for cruise passengers? Or would you recommend pre-arranging with Ship?

Get a taxi and when your being driven to the beach make arrangements with that driver to come back at a prearranged time to drive to back to the ship. If you leave early no harm.. You will never see them again..

There are drivers (vans) at the port lined up to take you there. They usually carry 10-12 travellers. They will also arrange a return time to take you all back to port so no worries about finding a return drive. It’s a beautiful beach- we enjoyed our time off ship there. if you want to see more of the island you should book a tour.
Does the beach bar has a TV?
I believe it does not. They have no wifi either, and they encourage conversation and laughter, not computer stuff. I loved it. I personally don't have a cell phone and for computer I go to my local library. It so amazing any way why would you need TV. Kind regards, Friscoboy.

It’s a beautiful beach and there was a couple on the beach next to us getting married. There was just the couple, the witnesses, the “justice of the peace”, the steel drum musician and the photographer. We thought they were off the Princess cruise ship. There were also all the people walking the beach and our 4 sitting at the next picnic table.
There is a $5pp and $2 per car admission.

Getting a ride there and back was easy - no fuss. There are a steady flow of large open air group "taxis" that leave to/from Magen's Bay once they're full. The fare for each way was $8US (I believe that's correct … but not 100% sure - in that price range). They accommodate approximately 20 people - four rows of five passengers. It appears well organized.

What’s the best way to secure your personal belongings when you’re there? Are there lockers? Does anyone recommend a waterproof case to hold cell phone and money?

We just left our stuff in a beach bag, no issues at all.
There is a guard at the park entrance and you have to pay, so there really are not random people just hanging around.

Le port est à 30 minutes en voiture de la plage. Les chaises coûtent moins de 10,00 $ chacune. Je ne me souviens pas du coût des parasols.
