Beautiful calm beach and you actually do really sea turtles. We saw 2 baby turtles and stingrays. But it is a bit of a walk to get to the dock where the turtles are once you park and take beach access.

Amazing clear, calm water and sea turtles! We were the only ones out on the water and enjoyed swimming with the turtles. Favorite part of our trip! :)

Vicina al centro, la baia prende sole fino al tramonto. Accesso spiaggia non comodo per chi ha problemi di deambulazione. Spostatevi un po’ sulla destra, vicino ai pontili avrete buone possibilità di vedere le tartarughe, mi raccomando non toccatele e niente cibo!

C'è ne sono e nuotano a riva, nella speranza di una foglia di lattuga. Sono molto facili da vedere e rendono caratteristica la spiaggia, di suo bella ma meno di altre

Hoopers Bay is known for swimming with turtles. Wen we were there many turtles showed up. The path down is a little bit rough but doable by 70 year olds (us).

This is certainly a hot spot to see turtles! Be sure to have plenty of lettuce to feed these wonderful creatures b/c trust me they will come! They know when they see boats, it's feeding time. So gentle and beautiful! This was probably 1 of the top highlights of our trip! We had our own boat so it was perfect to visit as often as we wanted.

Beautiful beach in Exuma, and there are many sea turtles to see!
Starting from the top:
- somewhat difficult access to find from the road. Park next to the sign for “Exuma Building Supply” and cross the street to the beach access. The access point is marked with 2 beach access signs next to a blue house…but it’s still hard to find the first time you go there.
- the walk down from the road to the beach is seriously pretty treacherous. They should invest in new steps. Currently (4/2023) it’s rotting wood “steps” with large holes in them, and screws sticking out in various places, and quite steep. Covered in a dusting of sand making it slippery and no hand rails to hold onto. We didn’t have much issue as a mobile family, but it wasn’t “easy” and took a few minutes to walk the short distance. Some people would definitely struggle and I’m sure there have been a few ground level falls at least.
- The beach is GREAT! The water is beautiful but it’s not as clear to see through as other beaches. We weren’t able to snorkel well because you couldn’t see very far. However the turtles made up for it! They swim right up to you looking for lettuce, which people bring to feed them. They are so cool to see. The best spot is to turn to the right after getting to the beach, walk the beach about 500 yards, until you are between two boat docks. Turtles all over here, we saw about 6 of them.
- It’s not too busy at all!
- Highly recommend doing it!

Beautiful color of the water - nice soft sand - friendly turtles, but the access to the beach is horrible!! Surely the town can afford to spend a few dollars to build a decent boardwalk!!

Nice beach, hard to access with the hill to beach. Once you are there a long walk down beach to see the sea turtles. Thats what had so happy.

Wunderschöner Sandstrad , Home of the turtles! Wer einmal mit Schildkröten schwimmen möchte, ist an diesem Traumstrand bestens aufgehoben. Bitte die Schildis nicht füttern!!!!!
