The museum is based inside the fort with many exhibits and displays. Well worth a visit as the view across the harbour will be a reminder of your visit.

This is an excellent and informative museum that looks at Acapulco’s historical role in the Spanish trade with the Far East. You could easily spend two hours or more wandering through the many exhibits. Information in Spanish and English. Highly recommended.

Se agradece la cultura en el puerto que es poca vs las opciones de embrutecerse con todo tipo de estupefacientes.
Si comparamos este museo con otros de INAH sabremos que está un poco abandonado y requiere mantenimiento.
Yo asistí en plena etapa vacacional y esta semi desierto, eso habla de parte de la crisis cultural y humana que vive lo que fuera el puerto más bello de México .

el puerto de san diego guarda gran parte de ña historia de mexico que estoy seguro muchos no conocen, por experiencia se los comparto, hay ahi cosas que no nos enseñaron en las escuelas y que solo estando ahi puedes conocer.

Algo olvidado por los turistas por ser un museo , no es un fuerte muy grande pero si muy bonito y muy bien conservado es más le hace falta explotación , presenta salas de acuerdo a ala histórica de Mexico y Acapulco , está climatizado y muy limpio además se observa un vista muy bonita hacia la playa , es un lugar muy recomendado para visitar , además hay exposiciones temporales muy interesantes ,

este museo representa la historia de la ciudad desde la época prehispánica en nuestro país va contando la historia del desarrollo hasta nuestros días y muestra piezas únicas de la misma

A good opportunity to kill two birds with one stone, since the museum location is inside the iconic El Fuerte de San Diego.
On display, many captivating artifacts and items, with signs in both English and Spanish.
You may admire a replica of one of the famous Spanish galleons, who allegedly open the first global trade route in the Pacific.
By the same token, you’ll learn about the history of Acapulco and its role during the colonial period. Enjoy the spectacular views from the fort and don’t forget the sunscreen.

The history of Acapulco is very interesting. The Stars of the Stars have all been to Acapulco. The local history will amaze you. This is worth visiting.

Classical fort design of the time. Excellent source of history: early colonialism, protecting capitol from piracy, and view is amazing. Many other places to tour and go see close by.
