This was the Platinum Catamaran Cruise. The Crew was great, helpful, polite! The boat was in tip top shape and well maintained…can’t say a bad thing regarding either. However, the process of getting on to the catamaran was horrendous. Once we were dropped off, we stood under a palapa for an hour before boarding. Very loud music, endless announcements regarding the kind of suntan lotion you must use (biodegradable) made it very annoying waiting to go. They board in groups, ours was last. Finally get going, stop to do a brief snorkel in the water and we were told if you are over 62, you cannot snorkel. We were not told that when we booked the trip (through MTS Global). We are 72 and 67…while we had no intentions of snorkeling, we should have known that ahead of time. We get to the island. They gave us a 1/2 hour to go see the magnificent north beach (as we walked to that beach we had to field the endless badgering for massages, and dodge vespas and golf carts (not that this is the fault of the catamaran folks). Got there, looked at the beach for all of five minutes, had to turn around and head back to the boat.
Back on the boat we are now headed to the beach club. Then came the sales pitch for the golf carts tour. First come first served as they only have 6 carts. My son-in-law was able to book one, for $55, which is not unreasonable. We get to the club and were told we had to meet at 1:50 to go on the golf club tour, it was now 1:10, so by the time we got off the boat we literally had less than 1/2 hour to walk to the buffet and wolf down some lunch, which was ok, not great, not terrible, but all the food was not even warm. Run to the carts, which have seen better days..but my 5 year old grandson loved the golf cart tour, which was fine…back to the club. Sat for an hour and headed back. The best part of the day was the trip back. The crew made it fun, with tequila shots, music and dancing, in true Mexican party fashion, then they stopped to let folks jump into the water and get on the big floating mat.
Overall, it was a good day, but it was too rushed and too much time lost standing around waiting to board/go. They need to work on that process…and turn down the music a bit…

HI Lori, thank you for your honest review, unfortunatelly the person who gives you the informaiton not mentioned the age limit, is for security reasons, regarding the down time, I think you will enjoy more our Island Discovery tour, which expends 3 hours at the down town, you have time enough to go around at the golf cart and also to enjoy the island, please contat us for your next time and will be a pleasure give you a special rate ;)

Our family booked this excursion through our hotel, and we were very happy with the experience. Couple of downfalls were that they did sell you pretty hard on their “organic sunscreen” upon arrival and how other sunscreens aren’t allowed. Everyone else there was using their own sunscreen, so we did the same. Secondly, they sold you very hard on the boat about getting a taxi. All of the golf carts were sold out, so the host was really pushing the taxis as the best option. However our hotel representative said not to go on a taxi as they are very expensive. These are the only two downfalls for our excursion.
The trip itself was awesome. The boat was very clean, and well kept. They made you wash the sand off your feet prior to boarding which helps a ton. The staff onboard was super friendly, and accommodating. They made every effort to make sure everyone was comfortable, had drinks, etc for the trip. The boat always wasn’t crowded which is nice as well. Snorkeling was amazing. This was my kids favorite part of the whole entire trip. The swimming opportunity they gave us as well was super cool.
Very pleased with this excursion and very pleased with their staff. Highly recommend!

Salesperson from Albatross called Fernando ripped us off for a Catamaran tour to Mujeres and a trip to Chichen-Itza.
We were only told 60 year old age restriction for snorkelling as equipment was being handed out so couldn’t do this. We opted to pay extra $55us for golf buggy for one hour tour of island. We spent most of the time waiting for buggy’s that were already hired to return, then when we were taken to the end of the island we didn’t have much time to look around. We drove in and out of a cemetery on the way back. Waste of money.
Don’t even know where to start with Chichen Itza trip. Paid for English guide and it was all in Spanish. Chichen itza tickets hadn’t been paid for and we had to pay again. $20us each upgrade for drinks included was one 300ml bottle of water. 7-8 hour trip lasted a total 14 and a half hours. Absolute nightmare, don’t use this company or a salesman Fernando who works for them.

Hi, good morning, I´m sorry we don´t have a Fernando in our sales crew, we also don´t have the Chichen Itza tour we only have Albatros, and regarding the snorkeling restrictions is for security reasons, I´m sorry if you have this bad situation, my recommendation, next time please contact us by the web, we bring all the information.

We were sold this trip to Mujeras with an additional trip to Chichen-Itza by a salesperson working for Albatross. His name was Fernando and he worked from the beach right in front of Albatross offices. We paid by credit card for both trips which Fernando used POS terminal from Albatross. The total cost £328.
The catamaran trip was sold with snorkelling, however once out at sea we were told there was an age limit of 60 and my husband is 63. This was not mentioned before the trip. Food included on the trip was buffet style and very little choices. We paid $55 extra for a golf buggy for one hour to tour the island with the guide. This was very rushed and not worth the money. Some of the time was spent waiting for buggy’s to be returned, before we left as a group. Hardly any time spent at the destination, which was annoying as it looked really nice.
Don’t even know where to begin for the Chichen-Itza trip. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY. We paid for an English speaking deluxe trip costing $79us plus $20us each extra that included drinks. We were given one 300ml bottle of water each all day. The wrist band we were given was useless and we were told we had to pay for drinks.
Our entrance tickets ar Chichen-Itza hadn’t been paid for by the company and we were told we would have to pay again.
We should have also stopped at a Mayan church but it didn’t happen and we drove around a town square 4 times before leaving.
The trip should have been 7-8 hours in duration and it lasted 14 and a half hours. The whole trip was in Spanish so we hardly understood a word and missed out on all the history.
Following day Albatross were very unhelpful and said Fernando didn’t work for them. When we said we were going to call the police they contacted him. We met with him but he said he was also owed money so could not refund us.
PLEASE DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY.

There was absolutely nothing luxury nor platinum about this tour so do yourself a favor and not waste your time or your money.
Despite claiming priority check-in, you will need to figure out everything yourself since there is no one to guide you and you will stay in the lineup like everyone else. Instead of leaving at 10:00 am the boat left at 10:20 am.
The boat was nice but it could only accommodate max 10-12 people not 40 people. There was not enough seat available and everyone was fighting for a seat. The first misrepresentation as at the time of reservation we were not told there will be this many people on such a small boat. As a result of too many people on board there was always a line for restroom and the flush was not even functioning the way it should.
For snorkeling they said you need to be fit and can swim for 50 meters. Otherwise, they would recommend staying in the boat and since I am not a professional swimmer I could not enjoy the experience. We were not given this piece of information at the time of reservation so this is the 2nd misrepresentation.
There was nothing premium about the open bar at the beach club. Servers were not attentive and pressure you to leave tip.
All the sunbeds were occupied and there was not enough chair or relaxing areas for people to relax after we had our lunch. Here is the 3rd misrepresentation.
Kayak paddle board was part of this package but our tour guide totally missed to introduce us to where and when we can do this activity.
Renting golf cart was not part of this package but they sold it on the boat. $55 for an hour ride with golf cart. After 20 minutes of waiting under the sun and not knowing what is going on, we left at 1:20 pm and drove about less than 10 minutes. Then stopped at the shopping area to relax for 15 minutes and drove back again for 10 minutes. The whole experience took an hour including 20 minutes of waiting and 15 minutes of stopping to shop. They sell the entire hour of golf cart for only $35 where we stopped to shop.
I left my comments with the boat crew when at the end they were passing review papers.
The only service given with no irruptions was providing drinks but if I wanted that I could have stayed at my resort without spending $150.
I am also writing this complaint down at the hotel that we bought the package so hopefully someone does something about this scam tour. I will be sure to put this online so people who are hoping for a relaxing and luxury experience do not get fooled and waste their time and money.
I have done so many tours all over the world from Europe, Thailand, Turkey and USA. I understand not everything goes perfectly as planned and you need to leave room for errors or hiccups but at this tour everything went wrong, late and misrepresented which is not fair and so unprofessional.

This was a terrible disappointment. We were promised a luxury catamaran with 25 people max and instead got a refurbished personal catamaran loaded with 52 people. Only when you got there were you told you couldn't snorkel if over the age of 59 (so people like my parents had to sit on the floor of the catamaran for the 20 min we were in the water). The drinks were 2 types of drinks mixed with what tasted like Tang - can't even say what they were supposed to be. The luxury beach bar and buffet turned out to be a hotdog and macaroni, and the golf cart tour was a total rip off. Cart was broken, we were denied a refund; shorted 15 min, we had no time to explore the area we were taken to. It was a tour of shops and the opportunity to purchase over-priced trinkets we could have picked up at the resort on the beach. The snorkeling was in a beautiful area but we were rushed and herded throughout, so what we saw most of was each other's legs. The guide was rude, haranguing and rushed us about, threatening us with the dire consequences if we didn't follow his rules exactly. It was an experience I would have paid to avoid. Do not waste your money.

Hi, good morning Michell, thank you for the comment, but plese let me know something, our Platinum tour is for up to 60 people in each boat, I don´t know why the person who gives you the information says it was for 25, is not possible, second, the snorkeling always has an age limit for security reasons my apologize if the person don´t gives you that informatoin, plese let me know how you reserve to reinforced the information.

Good times! Windy but enjoyable catamaran to from Marina to Isla Mujeres. First stop was in the "ocean" outside the docking slip. Beers, rum punch were the flavors on board! Pulled into the dock and off to lunch and more beers or rum punch. Good buffet style food. Crew and land staff were attentive to us. Berto on board was the best tour guide. WE didn't get to snorkel this day (too windy) so Berto arranged for us all to take a Golf cart tour to Punta Sur. After the tour it was off to the touristy part of the island. Cheesy shops with $2 T-shirt and other random tourist take home trinkets. Lots of pushy salesmen on the street but just say no thanks and they leave you alone. And then back on board the catarman for a 45 minute boat ride home. Music and beers all aboard! I would recommend this tour!

We went on a catamaran trip with the main goal of seeing the underwater sculptures at the MUSA museum. A vendor on 5th Avenue promised us that one of the two snorkeling stops would be at MUSA, while the other would be on a reef. When we arrived at the snorkeling spot, we listened to the guide's instructions, changed into our swimsuits, and returned to find out that everyone who wanted to snorkel had already gone into the water, and the catamaran was about to leave. Our 14-year-old son was already in the water, but my husband and I stayed on board and didn’t get to swim. Later, our son told us that during the 30 minutes he spent in the water, he saw only one sculpture like this ✌️
The promised free parasailing flight didn’t happen either. Instead, there were paid buggies for $55 per person and paid photos. On top of that, they sold us some kind of "eco sunscreen" for $30. After that, we spent an hour in the downtown area (basically a huge souvenir market) and three hours on a beach where the water was only knee-deep and full of seaweed. The restroom had to be flushed with a bucket from a barrel of water. The buffet food was okay, but the drinks were just standard chemical mixes. Honestly, we’re disappointed because our main goal — the underwater sculptures — was completely ruined by terrible organization and a lack of proper timing.

Hi, good day, my apologize, but let me explain you the tour (the person who gives you the information gives you wrong information)
The snorkeling tour takes around 20 minutes on the water (we always recommend to get on the bathing suite before to get on the boat to don´t waist the time) we are going to El Meco, the MUSA can be appreciate it only when you make a scuba tour because is deeper than the little hands we have at El Meco,.
The beach club probably has a technical problem the day you visit us, because our restroom is normal, we don´t use to need a bucket, we also have showers which use to work normaly.
The parasailing I don´t know why the person who gives you the information say that, we don´t habe parasailing included, the golf carts are not included but you have the option to buy the tour or just enjoy the beach club.
I´m sorry if this person gives you wrong information, please give us a second chance, contact us by the web and will be a pleasure give you a special price for your next visit.

The boat itself and most of the staff were nice, drinks flowing.
However I would not recommend for the following reasons
1. The boarding process is lengthy, where they insist you must buy eco friendly sunscreen (fortunately ours was ok when checked). Then we were told we could not put this on if we wanted to snorkel!
2. Snorkelling was ok, they had all the equipment. The water was very rough so you needed to be a very good swimmer and the reef was poor, not much to see compared to other places
3. The beach club was not luxury, music far too loud and the food for pretty poor (definitely not a luxury buffet - maybe butlins buffet). Service was excellent, but they work for tips so you would expect this. Sea was not great and if you want to take the buggy tour it was another $50 we declined this
4. The second stop was in the downtown, they drop you off in a shop I am sure not by co-incidence the hard sell starts now. The area itself was the worst example of touristville I have ever seen, constant selling everywhere you walk and the beach (which is apparently one of the best the best beaches was shocking, people everywhere and again being hounded to buy things constantly). You then meet back at the shop where unsurprisingly they are 15mins late to collect you, of course the shop can then try to sell you something. A polite no (or 5) doesn’t work they are persistent!
It’s not the staffs fault clearly just the business model but unless Benidorm is your thing avoid this
However I would not recommend for the following reasons

3. The beach club was not luxury, music far too loud and the food for pretty poor (definitely not a luxury buffet - maybe butlins buffet). Service was excellent, but they work for tips so you would expect this. Sea was not great and if you want to take the buggy tour it was another $50 we declined this
4. The second stop was in the downtown, they drop you off in a shop I am sure not by co-incidence the hard sell starts now. The area itself was the worst example of touristville I have ever seen, constant selling everywhere you walk and the beach (which is apparently one of the best the best beaches was shocking, people everywhere and again being hounded to buy things constantly). You then meet back at the shop where unsurprisingly they are 15mins late to collect you, of course the shop can then try to sell you something. A polite no (or 5) doesn’t work they are persistent!
It’s not the staffs fault clearly just the business model but unless Benidorm is your thing avoid this

Hi Harrie, thank you for the comment, I´m really sorry about this experience, I understand about the sales people on the island, but the most of the guests want to go to buy some souvenirs, that´s why we have to go the down town, hope you give us a second chance on your next visit.

Very disapointed. I was sold a day at Isla Mujeres instead it was a booze cruise packed with smelly drunks. We were yelled to hurry up at every activity, we had no time to enjoy the island. Do not recommend except if you are a drunk tourist with no standards. I guess I should have know a cheap tour you get a cheap experience but where do I find non cheap experiences?? They are the only one getting sold at my resort. Snorkeling was stressfull no time to see fishes you need to swin as fast as possible. Lame.

Good morning, my apologize for this situation, probably the person who gives you the tour instructions was not clear, but the tour is for around 80 people (only on our boat) the snorkeling is with the rest of tours that´s why is so many people there, the time of all the people, unfortunatelly the time is short, if you want an experience to meet the island we have a tour going just to the island, maybe on your next experience can try something like this, please if you comeback contact us, we will give you a special rate and the kind of tour you want

The website is no longer available and I paid and reserved this excursion already. Is anyone else having this issue? Is this a legit company. I paid with PayPal and just wanted to know if I should report a claim. Thanks

It was a legitimate company in November when we went. We booked with our resort so I'm not sure about their website. They did try to upsell everything, but that is true with nearly every tour company in most of the world. The boats have a party atmosphere, with alcohol and music. Our group was aged 15-66, we all had fun. The snorkeling was a nice short swim. We rented golf carts and toured the island. The buffet had lots of food.

Hola, quería hacer una consulta, en junio hicimos esta excursión y la pasamos excelente con mi marido, fue una experiencia increíble, pero compramos el paquete de fotos y nunca logramos descargarlas, nos metíamos al Link nos daba tiempo de espera, y luego se volvía a reiniciar, nunca logramos realizar la descarga, me encantaría saber si es que hay alguna manera de poder recuperar esas fotos, me quedo atenta y agradecería mucho si pudieran ayudarme

Mi marido y yo realizamos la excursión el miércoles pasado y la verdad fue estupenda, la tripulación siempre fue animando el viaje y las actividades fueron divertidas, si me pareció escuchar al chico de las fotos que las que realizo a bordo las subiría a Facebook ya que esas no nos las ofreció a bordo, me pueden decir como podemos verlas? Does the crew go through any kind of criminal background check? I just booked this excursion for me and two friends while vacationing in Cancun on Friday October 30th 2015. While we were snorkeling they decided to help themselves to half of our money.
