Questa chiesa è il più bel monumento del borgo di Barbaresco. La facciata soprattutto (meno l’interno) è davvero riccamente decorata ma restando sobria ed elegante.

Situata in centro al paesino di Barbaresco è spesso chiusa. Purtroppo non dipende dall'ufficio turistico locale ma dalla diocesi. Peccato

La chiesa parrocchiale di Barbaresco, dedicata a San Giovanni Battista, è in stile barocco ed ha una facciata semplice, dipinta con colori tenui . La struttura è affiancata dal campanile, mentre alle sue spalle si erge la torre di Barbaresco. All'Interno conserva affreschi ed opere d'arte, che purtroppo non abbiamo visto perché la chiesa era chiusa.

Percorrendo la via principale di Barbaresco per raggiungere la Torre si può ammirare questa Parrocchia San Giovanni Battista, purtroppo solo da fuori in quanto ieri era chiusa. Bello il campanile , esternamente la facciata è semplice dai colori tenui.

Si trova nel centro del paese, in fondo alla strada che porta alla torre.
La chiesa ha una bella facciata con contrasto di colori chiari, il resto della struttura invece è a mattoni, bello anche il campanile.
Purtroppo non è stato possibile vedere l'interno, era chiusa.

Essendo purtroppo chiusa è stato possibile visitarla e vederla solo da fuori, sia dalla piazza dove si affaccia sia dall'alto della torre. Una bella facciata elegante abbellisce il resto della struttura più semplice ed in mattoni a vista. Spero una prossima volta di poterla visitare anche internamente.

This simple but attractive small church painted in light pastel colors and white stucco contrast. The facade looks south on via Torino, towards the rest of the town. On the sides are wineries and tasting rooms, while behind the church (to the North) stands the Tower of Barbaresco. This medieval building offers a simple facade, with the craved wooden doors topped by stonecarvings and on top an oval window and additional stone decorations AT the top of the facade is a simple metal cross. Behind the facade, the church expands in a semicircular shape, and on the back rises the bell-tower with clocks on all four sides. This an old, medieval structure that has grown by the addition of a mixture of architectural styles.

Just last Sunday, I have been to Parrochia di San Giovanni Battista and participated in a Sunday Mass. The whole church was full of people. Nice Catholic service. What surprised me that there were equally as many old people as the young ones participating in the Mass. Not a usual picture nowadays in many churches. Mons. Marco Brunetti was leading the Mass. The church's interior is very nice, well kept, but not with so many references to a winemaking culture of Barbaresco. The Parish Church in Barolo is much more visibly the church of Winemakers.

Un lieu particulier pour présenter une sélection de vins de la quasi totalité des encaveurs de Barbaresco. Possibilité d'acheter des bouteilles.
