My Daughter is attending there now. Communications is null even to students half the time . The food plan is garbage having mushrooms on toast for dinner or undercooked meat with paying over $6000 for the year its unacceptable. They have no residency for next year but yet when we went for the tour in the summer it was all "oh i have never heard of anyone not getting residency" so now she has to find a apartment in VANCOUVER that's affordable for her. The fire alarms are getting pulled every other week at 2,3,4 am. i would NOT recommend this University to anyone who doesn't live there and can go home

Our daughter is getting her Master's degree there online and cohorts are required twice a year. Our family LOVES going there with her. Students are polite, faculty is very high quality, education is outstanding.

The collection of Northwest First Nations art at the UBC Museum of Anthropology is extraordinary, one of our favorite places to visit in Vancouver. It's a little bit of a taxi ride from central Vancouver, but well worth it. Totem poles, gigantic potlatch vessels, kayaks, all sorts of amazing artifacts of native civilizations. Must see.

Visit the Irving K. Barber (IKB) Learning Centre (Library). The building was built in 1925. It's so magnificent and well-maintained. Students can study in a very pleasant environment.

από τα γνωστότερα και πιο σημαντικά πανεπιστήμια. ο χώρος γύρω από τα κτίρια του πανεπιστημίου είναι μια τεράστια πράσινη περιοχή ιδανική για περπάτημα. βρίσκεται έξω από το κέντρο της πόλης. για να πω την αλήθεια σαν φυσική ομορφιά η τοποθεσία με εντυπωσίασε αλλά σαν υποδομές κτιριακές, το πανεπιστήμιο όχι, τουλάχιστον εξωτερικά.

This large relatively flat area is great for walks, runs, or bike rides of just about any length. I walked the Pacific Spirit Park down to the water; but spent most of my time in the developed area. Wide boulevards with no traffic permit the pedestrian to enjoy the sights without worrying about being driven over. I continue to be impressed with how the planners have blended new construction with the older buildings. Don't like architecture? Walk to the west and enjoy the Rose Garden and the water views. Lots of public restrooms and places to eat.
On the negative side, I had trouble with the maps. North belongs at the top, people! If you have a GPS, be prepared to use it. A lot.

広々としていてしかも市街地から少し離れているので集中できる環境がとてもいいと感じました。ビーチにも行きましたが（帰りの階段はずっと登りで大変だけど）すぐアクセスできるところにあるのがとてもいいです。

While all the tour books (rightly) recommend the BC Anthropology Museum, there are many other attractions on campus: 2 art galleries, outside art, concerts . . .not to mention Wreck Beach. I don't usually like to take public buses, but the 99 bus runs every 3 minutes--you won't get stranded.

Such a nice campus! it is immersed in the forest and the atmosfere is nice. It is also nice the marine landscape which is so close. And naturally the university is a great academic institution.

I was at the University of British Columbia for my granddaughter's graduation. It is a loarge, beautiful place. I liked the mixture of very old buildings and very modern ones. There's a lot of construction going on, which impacted driving around a bit. It'y but has lots of greener throughout its an urban university but has lots of greenery.

There aren't a huge amount of sit-and-eat restaurants per se on the campus - there is Mahony and Sons, The Pointe Grill and a few others, but the rest are more casual/quick bite or fast food type eats.

You can use Bus 44 to get to the Faculty of Education at UBC from your corner at Thurlow and pacific street.
(I cannot post a google maps link; yet it is easy to search using Google maps from your end)

We only have a couple of days in Vancouver and want to see, eat and drink as much as possible. We were planning to stay at UBC because it is so affordable, but will we spend all of our time traveling from there to the more fun parts of the city? One traveler says it's 20 minutes on public transportation from UBC to Stanley Park, but Google maps says an hour. Don't want to spend our limited time commuting! Thanks!

UBC is an affordable option for staying - but you will need public transit to commute to downtown. If you haven't already booked, you may want to check out the YMCA right downtown. You could walk to everything from there. Having said that...there are things to do on campus and public transit is good. The other option for affordable accommodation is AirBnB. Have fun and enjoy! P,.S. You might want to get an Entertainment book online if you are going to sightsee and eat out. It is only about $14.00 and you'll save that on one event or meal. Cheers...
