‪Do discovery trail instead‬
زوجان • سبتمبر 2021
‪We drove the Irish loop in early September and although there are a few scenic spots I would do the Discovery Trail in the Bonavista area instead. I was surprised how barren and flat the south end is. The drive as far as Ferryland is nice but I would turn around at that point if I had to do it again‬

‪Irish loop out of season‬
زوجان • أكتوبر 2019
‪We drove the whole Irish Loop, which was pretty easy because we were out of season (October) so many things were closed. It was still beautiful and lots of interesting places to stop in and see. We didn’t do the mistaken point hike, which I would definitely do next time. One note, being out of season there weren’t any restaurants open for lunch, so we had to grab food in the convenience stores. So if you are later in the season pack a lunch.‬

‪Partial Loop‬
الأصدقاء • أغسطس 2019
‪We only completed a portion of the Irish Loop (from St. John’s to Ferryland and back), but I would have liked to complete the whole loop! If you are accustomed to two-lane traffic or come from a rural area were you have to navigate gravel or uneven road surfaces, you will be fine! The drive to Ferryland was easy and smooth-going. We did the 1.4 km La Manche hike (suspension bridge and abandoned town) which is beautiful, and also stopped for photo-ops in various towns along the way. Our final destination was Ferryland’s Lighthouse Picnic, which was worth booking ahead! Even though we only had five days in Newfoundland, it was worth leaving the city to experience the charm of other communities and enjoy nature!!!‬

‪Don't drive the whole loop, just do the northeasterly part‬
أغسطس 2019
‪We squeezed in a drive around the whole Irish Loop during our stay in Newfoundland. While it was interesting to see how different the terrain and vegetation were on different parts of the Avalon Peninsula, we were disappointed with the northern and western parts of the loop, as they were almost entirely inland, with no views of the seacoast. The southern part had only about 30% that wasn't inland. The eastern part was much nicer, especially the part from Bay Bulls to Ferryland, and I would recommend doing that part and skipping the rest.‬

‪Beautiful scenery and varied terrain.‬

‪The Irish loop is something to behold. It allows you to see parts of the island you have never seen before. There are sections along this that are as flat as the prairies. Great little villages are sprinkled along the loop as well.‬

‪First Visit to Newfoundland‬
سبتمبر 2018
‪We travelled the Irish Loop twice on our trip. We loved the down to earth hospitality. Delicious local food, very stop had a different fish chowder! We went whale watching 3 times and saw whales every tour. Beautiful weather with some fog on two days.‬

‪Ocean side drive‬
العائلة • أغسطس 2018
‪The trail trail takes a half a day and the road is not beat for big trailers as it’s bumpy and full of pit holes. Not the most scenic drive there is on the island. There are some nice views of the ocean. People along the way are very friendly and welcoming . Lots of open grass lands but didn’t see any moose.‬

‪This was a highlight of our trip!‬

‪WARNING: The sands are "alive" and will eat your vehicle if you venture off the pavement here. No joke. Spent 3 days on St Vincent's beach, met many locals on their 4 wheelers crusing the beach. We arrived with the fog and the whales were there to greet us. Had to deflate the tires on my rig to navigate the unusually loose gravel. Never regretted a minuite of it. I will be back to enjoy this area again!!! ‬

‪Beautiful Coast‬
يوليو 2018
‪The drive from St. John's to St. Vincent was a lovely meander through varied landscapes and in and out of small coastal towns. Worth the drive. Wish we had been able to explore more, especially at Colony of Avalon‬

‪Take an entire day to experience the Loop‬
يوليو 2018
‪Technically you could probably drive the loop in a few hours but we spent a full 8-9 hours. You'll want to stop many times along the way for photos or to just take in the magnificent scenery. We made two side excursions along the way. There is a short (1/2 hour) easy trail to the suspension bridge at La Manche Provincial Park which is spectacular to see. We also stopped at Ferryland (most amazing harbor) and drove as far as we could then hiked the last part toward the Ferryland lighthouse. We were there pre-season before the picnic lunches are offered but we brought our own lunch and enjoyed some of the prettiest scenery in Newfoundland. Bring your binoculars and look north to Bois Island where you will see sheep grazing, which was an unexpected surprise (Thanks to a local woman for pointing that out to us) :)‬
