Lived in Brantford for a number of years and was a frequent visitor/participant to the Centre and was never disappointed. The memorabilia section is a must-see. As a spectator or participant, the facilities are first class. A little more mature, try the excellent walking track. There are motels and restaurants within walking distance.

this was fabolous visit for my kids, they still talking about this centre even few months after. can recommend it as must see for any hockey lovers.

We've played here several times over the last 7 years and have always enjoyed the venue and ice. The complex has all the amenities expected in addition to certain vendors selling hockey cards and the latest little game young ones might be into. I know when we go I always set a side $10.00 for my daughter to some of these little gems. We look forward to going again this April for our alliance tournament.

This place for swimming/exercise programs tailor to children and se for citizens. If your a tax payer and work for a living dont expect convenient times for their programs

I have been in this facility many times not only on the pool side but also on the arena side with four ice surfaces as well! It is very well located not far from the 403 highway with easy access to it for those who may be travelling for hockey tournaments or swimming competitions!

The Great One certainly gave his hometown a jewel of a facility. The statue of Wayne raising the Stanley Cup shows how big of a giant he is in the hockey world. The adjacent statues of Wayne as a child with his parents take us back in time when his hockey career began with the support of his parents. Inside, we loved the Hall of Recognition, which not only highlights Wayne's career but also showcases the great athletes who come from the Brantford area and have gone on to be successes in their respective sports. The rest of the facility has impressive hockey rinks, swimming pool, walking track, weightrooms and more. Defintely a place to stop and check out.

Hi dbutler385, we are thrilled to receive such a great review and glad you enjoyed your visit with us! The facility is owned and operated by the City of Brantford. We are proud to be able to use the namesake of the 'Great One' when it was built as a tribute to Wayne and his family. The statue was provided through community sponsorship in 2013.
We hope you visit us again soon!

Skating, walking, aerobics, swimming, diving, water slides, gym, weight room and a sports hall of fame. Everything in one new and ultra modern facility. I use the walking track (3 lanes wide and gently sloped) for aerobic activity in inclement weather. Four ice surfaces offer ample opportunity to skate or play hockey. Swimming pools with lanes add to the diversity. A modern gym. Has it all.

My wife and I stopped in as we are both Wayne Gretzky fans. The statue of Wayne and the cup, along with the statues young Wayne and his parents were great. The Hall of Recognition inside was amazing as well. Overall, this facility looks top notch, from the multiple ice pads, gym, two pools and a football field out front.

Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre is named after the famous canadian hokey player from Brantford himself (who financed the project)

Thanks for the review Paradise482028, we are lucky to have Wayne Gretzky's namesake but the facility is owned and operated by the City of Brantford. Wayne himself did not finance the new facility. We hope that helps :)

We are new to Brantford.
We just retired and moved to the city. We want to remain active so we were quite happy to buy a house 3 minutes from the complex.
We went for a tour and all the people there were very friendly and helpful. When we asked about memberships the person working the best gave me and my wife a one week free membership. She wanted us to make sure the complex was right for us before committing to a full membership.
The facilities are great, the complex is only 6 years old.
It has 4 ice pads, a gym, 4 pools including a hydro pool. There is a weight room, a studio, a daycare centre and numerous smaller rooms to book. They have lots of change rooms including a large family change room with lockers.
They have an extensive catalogue of activities. They also have a number of kids programs that we will enroll our grandkids in.
There is a snack bar and a small restaurant/bar that overlooks the ice.
We used our passes 6 of the 7days.
We will make extensive use of all their facilities and programs.
The complex is something Brantford should be very proud of.
