I booked agreed if time for 5 of my friends
We were greeted nicely . We were seated in a great little corner spot comfortably in a lounge setting . The place is nice, with a great atmosphere. There are TV’s to watch sports as well. We had some great drinks at a reasonable cost. Service was great .
We went back to back nights , the second night we had Lilly and she did a great job . Also the hostess, ( I forgot her name ). She was great was well.
Great location as well.
Thank-you kindly for a great experience. We will definitely be back.

Stogies Cigar Lounge remains open at the corner of Crescent and Maisonneuve in the heart of Montréal’s entertainment district by McGill University. Despite a number of older reviews, I found Stogie’s to be an accommodating bar for a drink and cigar. Contrary to what some other authors had written, they had no problem with me bringing my own cigars and enjoying the sunshine on the outdoor Terrace while I legally smoked. Basic martinis are $17 (plus tax), scotches start at $14 and draft beer start at $10. So yes, a little more expensive than the bars surrounding Stogie’s, but not excessively priced. And did I mention that you can legally smoke cigars?
As a visitor to Montreal, I stopped in a few cigar stores. I was actually pleasantly surprised at the price of cigars at Stogies are not excessively priced compared to local cigar stores, perhaps in the five dollar extra per stick (not triple the price as another author had written).
I visited on the gorgeous Sunday afternoon/evening of ‘ay 1, 2022. Stogies was approximately 50% full. I lucked out and was able to get a table on the outdoor terrace, overlooking the busy streets below. Strangely, they only had one server (in addition to the bar tender), but she was attentive and I did not have to wait for drinks or an ashtray.
Overall, I am most pleased and I give a five out of five rating. I definitely will visit again next time I’m in Montréal!

Went back there a year later, and once again, had a good time. We ended up sitting on the outside balcony and enjoyed the views of Crescent Street below. Service was top notch, great cigars, and a really nice selection of Scotch and Bourbon.

Wow. The doorperson at this establishment is an unprofessional jerk. We walked up the stairs to the entrance a few days ago looking to have a drink or a cigar, and the staff member who greeted us had a big ol' sour look on his face like "what do you want?" He then disputed the notion that we were requesting to be seated upstairs with "it's only for those smoking cigars". Well yeah, that is why we are here, that and/or to get a drink. Guy thinks he can profile people at the door? Try having some common sense and judgement skills. Love Montreal but avoid this place and the shady attitude.

Excellent endroit pour fumer un cigare. Vous pouvez apporter les vôtres. Aucun frais pour la coupe. Vous devez au minimum prendre un verre. De toute façon un cigare et scotch ça va de paire. Très bonne sélection de scotch et Rhum! Un peu bruyant pour avoir une conversation.

It was a great opportunity to finish 2018 at Stogies by having cigars at Stogies with friends. Services was excellent as usually especially being served by the lovely waitress Sarah M. Keep the good job coming. Many thanks!!!!

The only reason that this place gets more than 1 Star is due to convenience. It’s in a great location and it’s open late to serve you cigar craving needs. If a late night cigar is your thing, then you’ll be thankful that Stogies exists in Montreal.
Now, on to the bad. The decor is dated, the service is unaccommodating, and the manager is greedy unwelcoming. I was at Stogies as part of a party of 10 and we were seated upstairs. The location we were seated in was hot and steamy because the 1980’s air conditioning unit located above our couch wasn’t working. We asked the waitress if we could move, the upstairs was empty, and our location was uncomfortable. Our request was met with resistance because they preferred to keep large parties in the area where we were seated. We were also told the AC unit had been fixed, and they just had to turn it on... which they did. About 30 minutes later, the AC unit starts leaking like a broken faucet, soaking one of my friends.
At no point after the air conditioner leaked did the owner/manager come out to try to smooth over the situation. Stogies didn’t offer to make things right by discounting the bill or anything like that. Their remedy offer ended up being free Jell-O shots... classy place.
Ultimately my friend talked it over with the manager and received a comped glass of scotch. It wasn’t the end of the world, but Stogies should have been more proactive about accommodating our group.

My husband and I went there for after dinner drinks and to smoke. The cocktails were well made and the service was very good. We bought cigars there, which were grossly marked up, but we were celebrating and made the concession. The outside deck was the perfect way to enjoy our time and people watch
