‪Picturesque and overlooked‬
زوجان • سبتمبر 2018
‪After going through the town of Neah Bay, continue as if you're going to the Cape Flattery Trail. While you're still in what I'll call the flatlands, there is a choice to the left that takes you towards the fish hatchery and Shi Shi Trail...and there's more.

The road goes through some scenic areas, take the right fork each time there's a choice, and you'll be near water's edge with some nice views in some largely-undeveloped and somewhat pristine areas: Bahoboposh Point, Sooes River, then across the river to get back nearer to the ocean until one reaches the Shi Shi Trailhead and, further down, the fish hatchery.

We noticed some fluorescent cards in certain car's windows. As we didn't go down the Shi Shi trail, we didn't see what the purpose of the cards were: a parking pass, a tribal member, or ???‬

‪Absolument superbe !‬
مارس 2018

‪The ancient ones still speak‬
أبريل 2018
‪The Makah people live still on their ancestral home land, reduced in size, but still the same location. This area is one of the most beautiful in the entire United States. From the cliffs of Cape Flattery to the rocky primitive beaches and the waters of Neah Bay you can feel the ancestors speaking to those who walk the land today. The Tribe has limited resources-- a declining fishing industry, one general store, limited housing and unemployment that is said to be at 80% in the winter and 50% in the short summer. Despite this, they still tell their story through their well executed museum with many artifacts from the Ozette dig. and through their friendly citizens who make everyone who visits feel like family.‬

‪The road out to Makah and the road to Cape Flattery are excellent motorcycling roads. Incredible scenery and enough twisties to keep your attention.‬

‪Makah Day‬
زوجان • أغسطس 2017
‪Sunny again - 13th day in a row. We were definitely in luck the day we arrived - hard to park but defo work it as we arrived on MAKAH DAY. which involved dancing in costume, n eating unusually food, stalls of jewellery, t-shirts/towels, antiques, and a save the lighthouse stall. Lots of interesting thing happening, and also very long LONG canoes having races, in costumes, etc. Loved it. 14.05 - 14.40.
After that we went down to Cape Flattery = 7 miles, 14.54-16.20 were we were able to buy a 10$ permit and we then waked to the end - so even tho we are old 64 + 70 we managed to get to the end over planks of wood, and massives of wooden steps. The views were FAB, at the end there is 2 levels to look at the views with huge slabs of cliffs with the sea splashing right up them. Defo walking back was easier, and somehow shorter. Walking sticks at entrance nr the info board.‬

‪L'abbiamo attraversata andando a Cape Flattery, e ci siamo fermati in città per acquistare il pass e fare una pausa. Panorami da sogno, vale la deviazione.‬

‪Superb Museum!‬
زوجان • مايو 2017
‪Visited the Makah Indian Reservation on the way to Cape Flattery. We had heard good things about the museum and we were not disappointed. We always enjoy learning more about the early cultural history of North America and this museum is among the finest we have had the privilege to visit. The quality of the exhibits is first rate and they are well presented. The cost is $5 for seniors, and it is well worth it. If you enjoy early history, this is a most stop. ‬

‪Makah Days street festival‬
زوجان • أغسطس 2016
‪We made the long lonely drive to Neah Bay to hike the short Cape Flattery trail which is on Makah property - beautiful views there. Easy to purchase $10 reservation permit at the marina. As we came into town we realized they were having a parade and festival, turned out to be their annual Makah Days celebration with booths selling food, crafts, and other items, along with races of long canoes out on the Strait of Juan de Fuca. We had salmon baked over an open fire, absolutely wonderful. Pure serendipity that we were there on festival day. Wish we had had time to visit the museum.‬

‪I very much enjoyed my visit to the Makah Indian Reservation. It was a long day trip to arrive from Port Townsend, but very lovely water views. I liked the postings as I entered advising of regulations.‬
