Fantastisk område og skøn natur. På Karensminde står tiden stille på den gode måde. Fred og ro til sindet og man får hurtigt følelsen af at være tilbage i tiden. Gården har en lang og spændene historie bag sig. Dyrene på gården tilhører de gamle danske husdyrracer, som er en del af vores kulturarv og derfor bevaringsværdige. Helt klart et besøg værd

Karensminde er utroligt billigt, men med rigtig mange forskellige aktiviteter. Man kan klappe dyrene, lege forskellige gamle lege og opleve det gamle bondeliv. Der er masser af frivilige, der får gården til at føles levende og arrangerer forskellige aktiviteter. Vi var der 6 voksne og selv uden børn er Karensminde klart et besøg værd.

God til småbørnsfamilier. Virkelig hyggelig og velholdt gård udenfor Grindsted. Fedt at se alle afgrøderne i forevisningshaven. Klart et besøg værd.

After some hectic days in legoland we have decided to look for an escape.
We had the chance to pick up black currants and deliver them to the lovely ladies who were cooking jam and marmelade from the freshly picked berries.
The kids got to witness the process and be part of it- at the end we have received a small jar of freshly made jam and it honestly felt like being a child again at my grandmothers house in the country side.
We have enjoyed some (huge) freshly made waffles with homemade jam as well.
As this wasn't enough we got to enjoy a day of walking in the fresh air, play with goats, pet rabbits, forge our own iron hearts at the local blacksmith, have a ride with the carriage (for only 10kr/pers) and leave the place with knowledge about the danish way of living from the 1950s.
All this for only 40kr entrance price (adults) and free for kids under 18.
100% recommended.

På cykeltur til Karensminde men børnebørn og datter ud og klappe dyrene og se hvordan detvar før i dage. Afsluttede med en is inden ture n hik hjem efter et par timer.

Et rigtigt skønt sted at besøge sammen med dagplejebørnene hvor vi så alle dyrene, traktorer, legede på legepladsen og kørte med hestevogn. Vi havde mulighed for at spise madpakker indenfor da der kom en regnbyge.

Los niños disfrutaron un montón ya que todo está a su mano y los animales se pueden tocar (CON RESPETO,CUIDADO Y CARIÑO,obviamente) No está lejos de Billund, así que si ya se está cansado de Legos es una buena opción.
No es grande pero para comer alli la merienda es perfecto.
Esencial, visitar la casa de los granjeros, llena de detalles de mitad de siglo XX.

We visited it based on the tripadvisor reviews and we did not regret it at all. We would regret missing it... Not far from Billund 20 minutes by car. On the day of visit they had a fair which added to overall great experience. Kids enjoyed the animals and nature.

Do you want to know the culture and talk to Danish people who live in the past daily? No, I said that right. This is a living museum. This means people work and live in this museum. A well preserved location shows the homes of those many generations ago.
While you are walking through the grounds, you will see people cooking, cleaning, working as if it was hundreds of years ago. With authentic clothing, cookwares, tools, they go about their day.
I ended up talking to one woman there in her mid 50s (in English) for over 30 minutes alone. She and 2 other ladies were sewing and cooking some amazing things from bread to a creamy soup and served taste testers to me. It was unbelievable and delicious.
This type of interaction with an exhibit was exactly what I wanted and needed. I would go back again if I was in Grindsted/Billund.
While it is not overly visited, this was absolutely worth the drive to go see. Great for families with kids of all ages, and great for adults as well.

Rigtig godt sted for børn. Særlig kalkunerne var spændende. Både med deres lyde og opførsel. De andre dyr, var også spændende, at se på.
Det var også godt at komme ind i stuehuset og se noget fra rigtig gamle dage.
Den ældste ( 8 år) undrede sig over, at de havde glas at drikke af, da hun troede, de var meget fattige den gang, og ikke havde råd til det.

Hi! Does anybody know if this museum is open? (Because of corona). I tried to call, but cant understand what is said on the answering machine and the website is allso in danish : ).
