‪It was an adventure rather then pilgrimage yesterday.

Reached Palasa and took Mandass Bus. From there they said the route is closed.

I hired an auto to leave at the foothills and in case it is not possible I will return back.

He took there and since nobody was travelling I was returning back.  At they time some Orissa group came there and we're travelling to hills by foot.

I joined them and trekking uphill from Raju Kota route.

We have reached nearly 7.30 p.m. at Kunthi Mandir.  Police have stopped us and asked us to return.

I met the DSP and requested him to allow us in the night and told there are woman who cannot stay at forest at night. They permitted to stay subject to leaving at 5 a.m.

I searched for an accommodation and in a old but of an ashram they permitted all 12 of us to sleep.

Morning we went to all the temples amid police shouting here and there not to go there.  By 8 am we have finished darshan of other 4 temples and walked down to Koinpur (14 kms).

Took an auto to Garabandha. From there to Koppili, then to Palasa and reached here at station.

Though there was restrictions, we have successfully completed in the journey.‬

‪Mahendragiri is an undeveloped but beautiful Hill Station in Odisha. The roads are not so good, so go prepared accordingly. There is no accommodation here. Not a family tour destination. My friends and I camped on top of the mountain. There are some abandoned temples on top of the mount. The view in the morning is something else altogether. Also, check out Gudguda waterfall near Raghunathpur village, which is near to Mahendragiri.‬
