This temple is dedicated Lord Ram. It is located near DEVAPRAYAG in Utharakhand. This is Considered to be one of the 108 divya-desams . Here the deity is in standing standing posture Raghunath along with goddess Lakshmi . One has to climb nearly 200 steps to reach this temple. Rama or Raghunath is 15 feet tall with garuda facing Him.
It is believed that Rama and Lakshmana performed penance here in order to get saaba-mukthi for the sin of killing a brahman (RAVANA) .
The temple was clean and tidy.
It is well maintained.
You feel satisfied after the darshan of RAMA
It is one of the MUST SEE places in one's life.

un bel tempio che domina il fiume, un posto che ti porta indietro nel tempo, scimmie e altri animali camminano tranquilli tra le persone che vivono lente, in pace, un posto dove fermarsi per riposarsi mistico 100 x 100

Such a lovely quiet temple and to imagine that one of the Azhwars wrote of it 1000’s of years back. It was also magical to walk down to the Prayag of Alaknanda and Bhagirathi where the Ganga is formed. An elderly Brahman gentleman helped me perform the tarpanam of my ancestors. I had not set out to do this, but I’m now so glad I did it with Mata Prasadji’s help

Its ancient - this is where Shri Ram & Lakshman performed penance! It has a stunningly beautiful ghat below. The prayag itself, where Alakananda and Bhagirathi meet and together flow as Ganga... The temple itself has a South Indian feel to it. An extremely vibrant place, almost pulsating with energy.. I guess the steep flght of stairs keeps the crowd away! Because the place was isolated. The only noise coming from the school nearby. The Lord is beautiful too, and there is a cute Hanuman behind the temple. The plaque outside talked about some rock behind the temple. But we didnt explore it...

Its the 95th Divya desam. Either you can climb down approximately 100 steep steps to reach from the highway side or walk a distance , cross the river and climb about 40 steps to reach the temple from market (bazaar) side.
the temple is closed from 130 to 3 pm. after 4 pm, archanas are performed . 3 to 4 pm you can have darshan through the grilled doors.

It's an old temple... Filled with very positive vibes... You have to climb around 25 to 30 steps to reach there... U can see the confluence of Alakananda and Bhageerathi from the temple... It is associated with Ramayana..

I had visited this temple with my family in Oct 2017. This is one of the 108 divya desams temple. To reach the temple, there are lot of stairs which we need to climb. So, if you are taking old aged people, plan your time accordingly. Once you climb down the stairs, there will be suspension bridge which we need to cross to reach the other side. The view of Alakananda and Bhagirathi confluence from the suspension bridge is mind blowing. After you cross the suspension bridge, there will be lot of small shops and again stairs to climb up. Temple was for Raghunath ji. It was a great experience visiting and getting blessings from the god. After we finished our dharshan, we went to dip our feet in the holy Alakanda Bhagirathi sangam. Overall it was a great experience.

One of the 108 divyadesam .Situated on the confluence of rivers Bhagirathi and Alaknanda. From here onwards the holy river attains its name maa ganga. It is a strong belief that one can get rid of all their sins by taking a holy dip in ganges..Here you can"t have holy dip, only can have holy bath by using mugs , since the current flow of water is very heavy.Very ancient temple that is related with Ramayana period. You can take theertha prasadam by using small jars that are selling on the shops near by.

We are six people visiting badrinath and Joshimath during third week of June. It is a three day trip and our stay is at Joshimath. Third day morning, we will leave for Rishikesh from Joshimath . Enroute we like to visit devaprayag Raghunathji temple as a part of Divya desam trip. My question is:
If we hire cab for entire trip, can it be done in one day (third day) and we reach Rishikesh the same day late evening ? I understand 3 to 4 hours are required to visit Raghunathji temple..
If we come by public transport from Joshimath, can we get down at devaprayag, have darshan and proceed to Rishikesh ? In that case, are buses / shared cabs available from devaprayag to Rishikesh ? Do they start from devaprayag or should we depend on buses coming from other places ? Please clarify. Thanks in advance.
If we hire cab for entire trip, will it be possible to halt at devaprayag
