‪Impressive experience. Carry basic tools such as torch light and water proof shoes. As water is flowing continously, the rocks are slippery. During rainy season Water level may increase without warning. It's recommended to seek guidance from natives. Road to siju is tough to negotiate. Four wheel drive vehicle is recommended. Especially for the last 10 kms.‬

‪3rd largest caves in India and is located in Garo hills.....no hotels, no restaurant...you have to make contacts with the locals to buy the food....and you have to carry lots of stuff with you like torch, extra pair of clothes, etc ... also there is an electricity problem .... so avoid to bring any electronic item with you..‬

‪This place is an untouched cave and if you wish to have a real caving experience in Meghalaya then forget rest of Meghalay and just come down to this place. The cave is located in Garo hills and is called as dabokhol (it means bat cave in local language). Cave is house to hundreds of bats. It has great limestone formation with impressive stalagmites and stalagtites. The cave is one of the longest caves in India and might be in the Asia because till date nobody has ever reached the end of this cave.

The cave should be accessed not without any local assistant. If you wish to enter the cave then you can contact local person named Mr.Plinder Marak on +91-9436741342 or +91-8575382385 or +91-9436179599 . This place is a remote area with almost no network. So if any day you are not able to connect to this person need not worry. You can directly reach this place and check for him in the main market. His email id is samrakshan.ecotours@gmail.com or ampangsg82@yahoo.in

This place does not have a hotel or restaurant as its not known to tourist and hardly anyone visits. If you wish to stay you can check with the guest house of Forest Department or guest house of Tourism department which are next to each other. The guest house of tourism department has problem of leakage and forest department guest house is preferable. Further, you will not get food here. You will have to hire a local for cooking food for you and buy all stuff for him to cook. The guest house does not have much electricity or gas connection and the food is cooked using wood for which u need to pay additional for purchase of wood.

The cave has loads of flowing water and at some places the depth is even 84-120 inches. Its better you carry extra clothes. Further, if you are serious on caving carry good caving torch and loads of batteries alongwith you. Mr.Plinder has torch but its better to carry your own incase his torch is having any issue you cant buy a new one there.

The place can be accessed only through road.‬
