The temple is beautiful. We went up to the temple by ropeway carriage. They charge rupees 200/- per head return trip. Only one thing was disappointing was that auto rickshaw charges rupees 20/- per head but you can't sit comfortable in auto rickshaw. Auto rickshaw take 5 people in 1 auto rickshaw plus driver. Otherwise everything nice. I had a great experience.

I visited Jeevdani temple on the first day of Chaitra Navratri. Nice place to visit . Rope way presently is not working. appx 1400 steps one way. But due to the beauty of the place you won't realise climbing steps. Would recommend to climb steps early morning or late evening to avoid sun effects

Today i visited jivdani temple, i took a 5.41am dahanu local from Dadar. Its good if you start early. It took exactly 1 hour to reach virar. From virar east outside station you get share auto to the temple for rs.10 inr per person. As you reach the base their is a ganesha temple. It's a custom to visit Ganesha whenever you start something good.To reach the temple you need to climb 1400 steps. it's bit tiring.I saw people climbing the steps on their knees to complete their religious vows also called "navas" in marathi and "mannat" in hindi language. Once you climb this 1400 steps you reach the temple. Its very relaxing over here.Once you come out on the exit you have mahakali and kalbhairav temple.Again need to get down this 1400 steps but here you don't feel the stress. As you get down you have some small time eateries to have something and quench your thirst.Even the temple trust runs a small time eatery which gives 2 dilis and chutney for INR Rs.5/-.Overall it's a must visit place which can be a Sunday outing in itself.

We went to jivdani mata temple in the morning and were done before noon. It is based on a hill in a remote city in virar. The best timmimg to visit is early morning 5:30 am to 7:30 am as the temperature is cool and u will be not getting rush. Mostly the shrine is more crowded on thursday and sunday. The temple is situated on a hill which is almost 1500ft above sea level. The view form a top is very scenic. There are 1400 steps approx and one can walk up if the enthusiasm levels are high but there is a comfort of cable cars that take you up within 10 minutes. From here you can have scenic view of the whole city. This place gets more attractive in monsoon once visit you will luv the plaCe. There are few monkeys also there so beaware. Overall good place and hold great religious values.

Based on a hill in a remote city called Virar near Mumbai, this temple is supposed to be veey powerful as per Hindu mythology. Apparently its existence goes back to the time when lord Shiva was carrying the corpse of his wife Sati and her body was scattered in to pieces that fell at 52 places across the globe making this a 'shaktipeeth'.
The temple is situated on a hill which is almost 1500ft above sea level. The view form atop is very scenic. There are 1200 steps and one can walk up if the enthusiasm levels are high but there is a comfort of cable cars that take you up within 5 minutes. I went on an odd day and the temple was empty and i could sit there uncomfortably but there cabe a waiting time of up to a couple of hours depending on the day of the visit.
As an ardent devotee of goddess Durga, the visit has been on the cards for a couple of years but got materialised only today. If you are planning to visit then i would recommend the following:
Be hydrated - carry a bottle of water as it can be tiring and hot.
Buy your offering beforehand - unlike other temples there are no shops if you take the cable car so please buy your offerings in advance and take it with you to the top
Wear comfortable clothes - on a hot day temperarures get soaring so it is advisable to wear light and comfortable clothes. Avoid polyester as it can cause sweating and discomfort
Travelling days - preferably better to visit post noon on mid week days such between tue to friday.
I went by the local train and was there on a wednesday at 3.00pm and the temple was empty. I felt the positivity inside the temple and was amazed by the warmth of people who worked there. I will look forward to my next visit when that takes place.

We went to the Jivdani mata temple in the morning and were done by noon. It is very convenient to take the train to Virar Station and then take a share-auto from Virar East to the base of the stairs. The auto drops you a few minutes walk from the base. We visited a ganesh temple at the left after the first flight of stairs after security. It is a long steep flight of stairs. The elderly people or those who do not wish to climb can opt for the rope-way to the temple.
We walked along resting a bit from time to time at places where the steps got steep. There are plenty of stores selling food, drinks, toys and religious items. We just missed the aarti at noon. The arrangement is quite good with reference to the crowd-management for people's darshan of the goddess and drinking water as well as toilet facilities. There's a walkway after darshan where one can take in the outside view from the temple's height as well as get some more darshan of the goddess. We love to come here because the serene look on the face of the goddess gives us so much peace.
We bought the offerings i.e. "oti-bharnyachi thali" at the last store where the security asked us to remove our shoes. We paid INR150 for the dupatta, coconut, and other offerings as a set pack. One can buy it at any store or get it from home. There was some crowd even though it was a Friday, weekday and not an important religious day. The queue was moving at a good pace and peacefully. There is the usual jam near the deity, where you handover the offerings to the priest.
We missed the temple's dining hall facility on the left of the entrance and ate in one of the veg hotels on our way back. The food was good and reasonably priced.
When we saw the temple's dining facility on our way to the clean pay- per- use toilets, we stepped in and inquired the rates, food and process. There's a green counter where you buy your coupons. The coupon had the food item, price and timings printed on it. The breakfast service starts at 7:30 a.m. and is served until stocks last, usually until 9:30 a.m. Breakfast is idli-chutney for INR5! Lunch is from 12 noon to 3 p.m. There are two lunches: normal lunch costing INR15 has rice, dal, sabji and pickle. The special lunch costing INR50 includes chapati, additional sabji, papad. The dining hall looked very clean and the servers wore hair-nets but i didn't get to taste the food since i had already eaten.
We got out of the premises and took another share-auto back to Virar station East, crossed over to the West side and took an ST to Thane station. The bus conductor informed us that if we wanted to avoid the wait at the railway crossing, we should have taken the share-auto plying from the base of Jivdani temple hill to Ganesh mandir. The buses stop here too.
One can also take an auto to visit the seashore if you have the time and inclination to spend time at the beach.

I saw people using VIP pass. How do one get that?

There is no VIP pass. I think you must be talking about getting there by means of the ropeway. You can buy the ticket for that at the bottom of the ropeway.
Kindly let me know about the trolley timings and will they be available to and fro ?? I need to know to plan a trip soon.
