The staff are very kind and ensure that your time here is well worth it!! Although I was in a rush I was still able to have a cuddle with a wombat and pat the young dingo. Thankyou everyone at Taralga Wildlife Park!!

Thoroughly enjoyable from the moment of entry. Paid entry that included unlimited access to food to feed animals. Heard and saw a magnificent peacock before we even paid. Through the gate we met a trio of young goats that followed our 6 year old grandson for a while. The owner introduced us to a six month old dingo on a leash. Each pen was labelled including pictures that made identification easy. Lots of Australian animals and birds but also exotics such as the pair of blue and yellow macaws. And the young wombat charmed our grandson as it made its way around the area with an accompanying staff member. There was a petting zoo that included baby rabbits and guinea pigs. The cafe had reasonably priced food selections, including drinks and iceblocks. The high point of the whole experience, apart from the wide variety of animals and bids up close, would have to be the staff. They were friendly and went out of their way to engage with kids and talk about their animals. For my grandson it was a magical experience.

Well, it certainly doesn't match the scale of Featherdale or other similar major tourist attractions. But it does compensate that in a more personal approach. The workers and owners are very welcoming and eager to get you up close and personal with the animals (and you don't have to pay extra $50 for it or whatever big parks charge). The territory isn't big, but as it's far from major cities there are not many visitors either, at least that was the case on our visit. There's a rescue wombat who behaves pretty much like a dog, which I've never seen before - usually they aren't that friendly. Otherwise, it's typical selection of animals, yet you can get closer and more personal with them than usual.

My Family visited the wildlife park recently. We consisted of three generations, from 2 - 72. The two year old had a delightful time watching and patting the Brigid the wombat and a black rabbit. It was a very cold windy day and the ground very muddy, fortunately we had appropriate clothing. We fed some animals and watched the water in the creek rushing down the hill. Fortunately the creek was fenced off, so safe for a very interested two year old. There was also some play equipment.
The setting is beautiful, but in my opinion not suitable for strollers or wheel chairs.
We probably spent about 2 hours at the park.

What a truly delightful place. We took our 5 year old grandson and we had a ball.
We enjoyed rambling/running wild from animal to animal. There was such a large range of animals.
John and his staff were friendly, informative and loved their job and sharing their passion with kids.
Our grandson fed the camel carrot, the goats, sheep, alpacha and kangaroos the free food and the 2 week old kid its bottle. What a wonderful experience.
The range of birdlife was huge.
Drinks were yummy and reasonably priced. What a great day out for all.

Friendly staff and the range of animals were a surprise.
The Avery was amazing.
It was raining and muddy and the animals did look dishevelled. The grass was quite long and the area looked like it could do with a little tidy. The place looks like it's in need of a few volunteers to assist in keeping it looking it best.
The food for the animals was free and you could go back as many times as you like, but the kids (11 and 9) soon got sick of running back up the hill in the rain.
We spent almost 2 hours there and kids were able to hold Fill neck lizard, baby rabbits, guinea pig and Susie the wombat.
The only downfall was that the Gluten Free cake was not gluten free and my husband was very ill.
I wish people who are in hospitality would learn their dietary allergies so that people like my husband can eat out with confidence.
$40 for a family of 4 was a great price. Take a picnic lunch to keep the price down if needed and you can easily spend more time to make the trip out worthwhile.
If you are interested in Wind turbines, the Taralga Wind Farm is just up the road.

This is a fabulous place to visit with your kids. Our 8 and 3 years old had a blast. Plenty of animals which are very friendly. Haven't tried the dingo cage though ;) If you haven't visited this place I highly recommend you do!

A fabulous experience feeding a wide variety of animals and petting the rabbits and guinea pigs. They even have exotic birds; a Macaw from South America. Thanks for the friendly and informative service.

This amazing animal farm is family friendly. Lots of interaction by feeding and patting animals. Kangaroos, goats, chickens, alpaca, camel, wombat, rabbits and so much more. Very good and safe for children of all ages. Highly recommended. Friendly staff too.

We took our family to Taralga Wildlife Park and we were not expecting it to be one of the larger wildlife parks. It is small but you get to see some great birds, dingoes, native animals and deer close up. The staff are very friendly and the young lady looking after the baby wombats, guinea pigs and wallabies was absolutely delightful. We spent about 3 hours there looking at everything - was a great afternoon. We will certainly visit again.
