Visited whilst in the area. Nice walk down to sand dunes and beach and wooded walk along the disused railway line between West Kirby and Neston. Carparking and cafe facilities with picnic area where we were so all good.

Nice green space with paid car parking. On the headland above Thurstaston beach. Had picnic here before heading down to the beach.
Head to the right (west side past the cafe) for four bbq areas with picnic tables.

An interesting park on the Dee estuary, with an interesting visiting center where you can watch the birds.
Everything is clearly explained in the center.
Also there are plenty possibilities for a nice stroll, plenty benches to sit on.

Lovely country park - plenty of parking. Lots of routes to walk along with our dog and the view is spectacular over the estuary. Cold April day but many families enjoying the area and using the barbecues. A few cafes to choose from which is good to know for future visits. Toilets in Visitor Centre were very clean with soap and hot water (not always found in public toilets). We never went to the beach area as I’m not so agile but we could see a lot of people enjoying themselves. Highly recommend and look forward to returning

Never walked the Wirral way before - we did Parkgate CP to Ness and back along the coast via the tea rooms. You could almost imagine the steam trains in some spots, it was so quiet and everyone was friendly. Loved it and will be back to finish it off to Bidston.

Good for walks and fresh air, especially in the Spring or Summer, that crosses two counties. In the winter it can be waterlogged in parts.
We usually join it at Hadlow Road, Willaston or Parkgate, which are both in Cheshire. These are our favourite areas of the Wirral Way. Once you have passed Parkgate and reach Heswall you're in Merseyside right into Thurstaston. It extends for miles from beginning to end! It's also interesting from Little Neston to Willaston.
Best to take water as there are not many opportunities to get refreshments along most of it!

Always a good place to walk. Nice views. Access from Wirral way so great for cyclists too. Good coastal walk. Peaceful away from peak times.

Beautiful views over the Dee estuary . Great walk and place to picnic. Fabulous café . All in all a great inexpensive day out for the family with access to the beach

Fantastic free day out for kids and for a dog that wants to jump at every dog walking by.
i had a great time the beach was clean par from a few very old plastics washing up but that's normal the cafe nearby on the road as you arrive is fantastic very friendly I traveled from north Staffordshire and would do again

What time do they lock the car park. Would love to watch the sunset from the cliff top but worried car might get locked in car park.

hi the new council charges imposed 2018 are: 50p under 1 hr, £1 for up to 2 hrs and £2 for all day. this also applies to arrowe park, royden park and eastham country park

Are the cliff areas fenced off? We're thinking of taking the dogs but worry about them being off lead

The cliffs are not fenced off. We didn't let our dog off the lead because he tends to run about a lot and loves chasing things that are being blown about. It would depend how well behaved your dogs are .

Can anyone tell me if cycling had been prohibited in Royden Park and Cubbins Green in west Kirby? To me it seems someone has been putting up fake no cycling signs at various locations,as I'm lead to believe both locations are not a no cycling area and cycling is encouraged in both.. I have in the last 2 weeks been berated by dog walkers for riding my bike in said areas?
