We do not usually post reviews on TripAdvisor. However, due to COVID-19 stay-at-home restrictions here in Upstate New York, we have had the opportunity to reflect on our September 2019 trip to Tuscany (a celebration of our 50th wedding anniversary). We feel the need to share the breathtaking experience we had, thanks to the exceptional crew of Ballooning In Tuscany.
Annie, our extremely patient and helpful coordinator, carefully guided us through the entire process. She was genuinely concerned that we were comfortable and having a great experience. Our pilot, Nic, was a highly experienced professional who instilled confidence. Throughout our peaceful voyage, he flawlessly maneuvered the hot air balloon, providing us with spectacular views of the gorgeous Tuscan landscape below. Annie, Nic, and the agile chase team gave us a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We highly recommend it!
The Ballooning in Tuscany balloons are currently grounded, because of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, once they are flying again - this is an absolute MUST DO!

Abbiamo fatto questa esperienza nel mese di Ottobre ed è stata una delle cose più emozionanti che abbiamo mai fatto in Toscana. Ci è piaciuta così tanto che la consigliamo a chiunque voglia portare a casa dei ricordi unici.
Poi se siete delle persone romantiche questa esperienza è il top!

Amazing experience with a very kind and experienced crew. I am usually afraid of flying but had no fear of ballooning here because of the knowledge and expertise of the pilot and crew. I had an incredible experience and can't wait to balloon again! Everyone was so kind and knowledgable that any hesitations disappeared once we were in the air. The champagne and breakfast at the end topped off an amazing ride!

We highly recommend booking a hot air balloon ride with this company! Do yourself a favor if you’re on the fence and just book it! It was awesome to see all the places we had been from the sky and the staff was amazing! They even gave me a jacket to wear because I was cold. They were very knowledgeable about the area and provided great food/drinks when we got back.

There are some things in life where it’s worth trusting to luck, and others where you really need to use professionals. Flying in an unpowered aircraft falls in to the latter category.
Everyone at Ballooning in Tuscany (not to be confused with similar sounding companies), from Monica who looks after the bookings, to Annie who organises pretty much everything, and the guys who do the hard physical work, are all professionals. Speaking of pros, Nick and the other pilots are all licensed with the British CAA and the Italian equivalent and have over 30 years experience each. A dawn balloon flight over Tuscany should be on everyone’s bucket list, a wonderful experience, a great way to meet interesting people, all wrapped up by Annie’s wonderful Prosecco breakfast.
Just do it!

The team was careful and considerate in answering all of our questions ahead of time. They explained everything thoroughly and were clearly experts at what they do. They were great fun to fly with and we will definitely use them again in the future when we can!

What an amazing ride! It was my first time in a balloon...felt so very comfortable! The pilot was so professional yet friendly. His wife had a very nice breakfast for us! I would highly recommend them!

Highly recommend Nick and staff for a scenic, safe balloon adventure. The basket comfortably accommodates up to 12 people. The ride includes lower altitudes for admiring farm land and wildlife and high altitudes with long vistas. We met thoughtful, kind passengers with whom we continue to communicate about travel in Tuscany and future plans. The breakfast was delicious, served on a table in a grass field after landing and we all shared stories about our families and our time in Italy.

This was an experience of a lifetime. Montisi is already an amazing place, but seeing Tuscany from a birds eye view is a most wonderful experience. I'm somewhat afraid of heights, but had no problems soaring over Tuscany's hills and valleys. Nick our pilot is the best and Annie and the rest of the team are absolutely wonderful.
Our initial flight was canceled due to weather, but it was super easy to reschedule and they were super efficient.
I can't wait to do it again.

Flying with Ballooning in Tuscany is THE best experience you can have in Tuscany. They have an excellent team that only fly from the most beautiful locations. I have been flying with them for several years now and they are simply the best. Thanks again Nick, Annie and Monica for a lovely experience!

There is a company that works with balloon called 3rd service. You can contact them and arrange transportation at a cost. But you have to be at launch site by 5am. They have other launch sites that may be closer to Florence too. Go to website.

Hello! We are going to travel across Italy next September. I'd like to ask if there's any aage limits for ballooning. And what about the capacity of the basket? We are 7 including two kids 3 & 7 years old. Hopefully we can make the ballooning all together.

Thanks for your message.
Unfortunately, we can’t fly children as young as three in our balloons. For safety reasons, all our passengers need to be tall enough (and strong enough) to take the correct landing position in the basket and hold onto the rope handles. To do this, Aviation Authority requirements states children must be at least seven years old and 137cm tall.
We love flying families with children but at the moment your child is too young to safely fly with us. Although it’s a few years away, if you still want to fly with us when everyone is old enough, please do get back in touch and we would be delighted to take the whole family up, up and away in one of our balloons.
