On a passé notre Open Water avec l'incroyable Martin et son acolyte Sam 😁 C'était une expérience inoubliable et on aurait pas pu rêver d'un meilleur accompagnement : on s'est senti en sécurité, moniteurs très pédagogues qui mettent en confiance, ambiance fun, equipe mega sympa et accueillante, organisation au top, spots de plongée AMAZING...Bref on recommande à fond !
Encore un grand merci au Komodo Dive Center et surtout à Martin et Sam, deux incroyables moniteurs et personnes 💙

My husband and I did two days of amazing diving with KDC! We were in an odd situation where we had booked with them but it's the low season and their boat was in drydock so we actually dove with their Dive Master,Kris, on other company's boats. So I can't speak to their boat crew, but appreciated that we got exactly the dives we had requested even despite the odd situation.
Kris was an awesome Dive Master. Friendly, super helpful, very knowledgeable. He helped adjust my weight which helped me solve some bouancy issues and have better, longer dives. The dive sites we went to were hands down the best in my life. We saw a ton of mantas, turtles, and other great sea critters. Would absolutely come back and dive with KDC again.

Wir haben die Tagestour der Taucher begleitet. Das Boot ind Essen waren okay. Das Team sehr freundlich bei gründlicher Vorbesprechung. Wir Schnorchler hatten einen eigenen, tollen und entspannten Guide der
uns zu den für Schnorchlerer besseren Spots begleitete und uns durch die Strömungen leitete bzw. daran vorbei. Es war wundervoll und der beste Schnorcheltripp unserer 6 Wochen- Reise.
Etwas Punkteabzug nur wegen des 4 Punkte- Bootes und der 4 Punkte- Verpflegung.
Danke für den tollen Tag an das nette Team- dafür 5 Punkte!

Staff: The team on-board were excellent. They were very knowledgeable about the dive sites, currents and sea life. They made our drift dives safe and ensured we knew what to expect during each dive briefing. This was some our best diving and we have done 3 other liveaboards.
Food: The food was very good. The taste and plate presentation were great. I am pescatarian and the chef accommodated with great meal options. There were snacks between dives to ensure we weren't hungry.
Rental Gear: The gear was weathered, and some items (wet suits, diving boots) had small holes. You can rent a dive computer for $10/day which was nice and the team will set up your tank with regulator and BCD before each dive which was appreciated.
Boat/Cabins: Both are a bit dated and in need of updating. Overall our stay was comfortable but there were opportunities for replacing ripped boat deck cushions and deep cleaning of the cabins. We were on the main deck and appreciated having an in suite bathroom.
Note: Many of the boat crew smoke and although this doesn't impact the cabins if you are sitting on the top deck lounging it directly impacts this area.

I’m so glad we booked this boat! Can highly recommend it - but of course it’s basic depending on what you’re used to!
Everything went smoothly, food was good, cabins were nice, that top deck is amazing and of course the diving experience was amazing ! Very good instructors, taking us to 12 different sites - and with such variety! The instructors were all super friendly, helpful and above all professional!
I ate vegetarian and they accommodated for this very well! Depending on weather the nights in the cabin can get hot - but we had the fan on all night so this was ok! Great to have private bathrooms, and real toilets+ shower !

Me and my partner went on liveaboard over Christmas for 4 nights and even do I was having trouble with seasickness (I'm very sensitive) I was so very happy about the trip!! The staff was very pollite and helpful!
Our dive guide Derek made a huge effort to find and show us everything we wanted to see! And we even got to see a big manta ray, seahorse and a lots lots more. We hade been diving 30 times before and didnot have any experience with drift diving. But our guide Derek made us feel
super safe with drift diving and we got
such a new great experiens! Derek also took a lot of time to help us write our logbooks at the evening and sit and talking about the dive! We booked our liveaboard in advance at padi web site.

Nous avions une twin cabine sur le pont principal. Plus spacieuse que je l'aurais pensait avec des rangements pratiques.
Équipage topissime. Super ambiance. De l'humour. De bons briefe. Ils étaient aux petits soins pour nous mettre à l'aise en plongée.
Essaient d'adapter les lieux aux envies de chacun. C'est très appréciable.
Seul bémol... La nourriture... Pas saine du tout... Gras... Surgelé.. Et pas bonne.
Les 3 filles de la croisières se sont abstenues des repas...
Manque cruel de fruits.... Même pas un jus le matin...
Snack. Chips et barre chocolatées...
Jai pris 3kg en 4 jours..... Et malgré toutes l'énergie dépensée en plongée...
Pas du tout vegan friendly. Genre pas du tout...
Super souvenir tout de même.
J'ai fait une autre croisière juste avant avec Le pirate très décevante où on était toujours une dizaine de bateau par spot... Là non on était le seul bateau. C'est très agréable.

Komodo Dive Center is one of the best out there in Labuan Bajo. We had 3N4D trip on board of Mastro Aldo. Service was great from very beginning, we got picked at the Airport previous evening and headed to office to fill in the papers and for equip sizing as start was really early next morning. Phillip, I guess he was the manager of the tour, was helpful making everything possible for our trip to be relaxed and easy-going.
Vessel is not super new but in good shape and absolutely satisfies comfort accommodation and diving. Guys from the crew prepared equipment so before each dive it was ready - worth to mention their seamless job. No AC during nighttime wasn't big deal as the fans did their job plus you just get used to climate and its cooler at night anyway. There is a big shelf of books on board which I find quite useful whether you decide to fill in free time with fiction or, more likely=), animals identification literature.
Our dive guides, charismatic dudes Hans and Eval were brilliant, seems that guys know every corner of the divesites and carefully address diver's wishes and capabilities what made diving with them easy and fun. We made 14 dives, saw plenty of creatures as Komodo reefs are filled with life, tops were manta and eagle rays, reef sharks and sole) oh and that famous frogfish!) Great night dives as well with different kinds of crabs, cuttlefishes, pipe-, scorpionfishes and even sharks.
Meals were fantastic, on our vegetarian request chef served delicious tempeh and tofu dishes with his own awesome souses - very creative! And of course fresh veggies and fruits, fresh water and soft drinks cold from the fridge.
It was remarkable experience. I totally recommend to dive with Komodo Dive Center and on board of Mastro Aldo particularly.
Vessel is not super new but in good shape and absolutely satisfies comfort accommodation and diving. We had 4 fantastic days on the boat. The crew was amazing, the food was really good and there was a nice atmosphere. We had a really good diveguide (Dereck), he knew all the spots really well and showed us a lot of things underwater and we had some really fun, beautiful and adventurous dives in the current with him.

I did six nights on the Center's Mastro Aldo boat - one of many liveaboards I have been on in different countries and regions. My experience this time was a mixed bag: four stars or higher on a few aspects, but three or even two on others.
First, the pluses. Unlike some reviewers, I found Melanie and the shop dive staff friendly and reasonably efficient. Admittedly, I did all my booking in advance via an agency website. But pickup, registration and transfers were all looked after well.
The dive staff on the boat were also pretty good. Our dive guides were friendly and generally professional (though their pre-dive briefings could have been more thorough on occasion), and each guide looked after only a small group - wise in a place like Komodo, with on occasion very strong currents. They also did their best to help less experienced diving guests.
The food on the boat was excellent - better than you could expect from a boat of this class and price range. The other crew too were helpful overall. But (and here we tip over into negative points) my room was never cleaned, no clean sheets or towels were offered, nor were the rubbish bins even emptied during my seven days on board.
The boat itself was the main let-down. The most serious issue was AC, or rather the lack of it. Various websites including the Komodo Dive Center's own one state that there is an AC unit in every cabin. This is true. But what they do not tell you is that the AC does not work at night - which is when you really want and need it! - as the boat switches from its main engine to a lower-capacity generator. There are fans in the rooms, but these are ageing and rather measly. On top of that, there were a number of small technical niggles: things like cupboard locks and handles missing or hanging off on one screw, sliding doors that jam; dodgy electrical sockets; and so on. These suggest that the boat has not had good regular maintenance, and is overdue a thorough overhaul. Oh, and the top bunk in the twin-bed cabins (which fortunately I did not have) is too short to accommodate anybody taller than 165cm/5' 5".
Despite these niggles, I had a good trip. If you are on a tight budget for a liveaboard in Komodo (generally quite expensive), the Mastro Aldo is a decent option. Just don't expect four-star comfort or service; and be prepared either to open up all your cabin windows and doors or to be rather hot at night.

I have booked the 6 night, 7 day liveaboard on Mastro Aldo, I am wanting to confirm that there will be a good opportunity to see the komodo dragons at least once on the trip. I am very keen to do some trekking while in Indonesia, but don't want to double up if there is already some included in our dive trip. Thanks in advance.

Vou para Komodo em Julho agora, e estou contratando um serviço de 4 dias e 3 noites para conhecer as ilhas, porém este não inclui mergulho com cilindro. Vi que no Komodo dive center tem passeios com mergulho com cilindro, foi esse que você fez? Quanto gastou por dia?

Hi we are slightly concerned by the lack of communication from Rolando regarding our payment of quite a lot of USD to the dive centre for a liveaboard in july, can somebody supply an alternative email address as our emails are not being answered.

Hi there!!
I am going to Flores in a couple of months and we were thinking about taking a 4 days trip with Komodo dive Center. My bf is an advanced diver but I just snorkle, do you think this trip would suit for snorkelling also? I do not mind if I have to stay in the boat for a couple of divings but I would like to know if for somo others snorkelling is an option :)

Hallo,meine Frau hat auf Komodo geschnorchelt.Die Mantas sieht man auch als Schnorchler.Sie war darüber sehr glücklich.
