You think you are ready for those flea markets, but you are not! Get ready to be pulled, yelled at, growped, did I say pulled ever so politely. Everyone is hungry for a sale, fake..Oops I mean " grade A" stuff from fake LV, to Chamnel, Celine, Coach to cute authentic souvenirs you got it all, that's just the first floor. If you still have it on you, the second floor has everything electronic. It's an experience when you come to the Philippines, visit once and cross it off your list. You gotta bargain..bargain is a must at least a few hundred under, don't be afraid to walk away next booth will have the same article

A must when visiting Manila. The deals, luxury goods at a fraction of what it really costs, and if you're really good at bargaining will all speak for itself. If you have the opportunity to go for a few hours, you will be blown away by the amount of items you can get.
There is this one sales lady that left a really good impression on me from a past trip in February 2020, quite knowledgable about what is genuine and what is an imitation. I was amazed that she was still in business, but in a different area of the main floor. With all the questions you may have, her and her boss will be able to answer.
The Tiannge aka flea market, is quite big and you can get lost because one floor is electronics, another floor is clothing items, another floor snacks and souvenirs, you'll also find beautiful sea pearls.
Although I do love to go indoor mall shopping, certain parts of Greenhills have open-air sections and can get hot during the summer season, having gone several times in the past, you get use to the climate change in a few days. Other parts of the shopping center you'll find a Regional Style Mall.
Greenhills is located in San Juan City, about 20 minutes drive from Makati on a good day of traffic. They all communicate well in English, and make sure you get what you want, or at least go home with something for someone back home. Like every industry that was impacted during covid times, I totally understand that this is their livelihood and want to stay business, everyone wins at the end of the day.
It's best to tip generously when good deals are made, these salespeople and vendors do a really good job and treat your extra special, no shady business.
There are also many restaurants, spa services like hair salons and spas, banks, theaters & arcades, also a chapel and prayer room.

Totally fun way to spend a few hours or more while in Manila. FYI- Don't be in a hurry, depending on traffic (from hotels near airport) it could take an hour or more. Ginormous area of pearl vendors, handicrafts, tech floor...truly dizzying amount if vendors for everything. I am a solo female traveler, and felt comfortable there. Would go during day hours, and of course stay vigilant of your surroundings.

Certainly didn’t live up to the hype from all the reviews, I’ve bought better quality in Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Turkey and many other countries . It was worth a walk around but just the once, it’s certainly an experience I will not repeat.

A warning to tourists, we experienced aggressiveness from a vendor selling fake bags.
A tactic they now use is to hold most of their stock behind a plastic curtain so you need to enter a small space with a narrow entry point to view and negotiate.
My wife was negotiating with a vendor while I waited outside. The vendors partner then motioned me to enter the small room while they were arguing about the price. He then blocked me from exiting the room by positioning his chair across the exit and sitting on it. Would not move when requested. I had to wait until he got of the chair before we could exit.
The other vendor was getting agitated because we would not agree to his price, to the point of threatening us. Time to get out of there.
Didn't have any problems with other vendors. Overall they are less inclined to bargain than they were pre pandemic but still plenty of bargains to be had.
We visit here every trip to Manila for the shopping, plenty of restaurants and foot spa. Will return however avoid the bag section.

Wow this place is amazing, they have everything copy you can think of and all reasonably good quality for the price. Such good value infact you don't care to bargain with them, I found myself happy to pay the prices. I planned to spend a day there, but ended up going back for an evening as it was that good and completed my Christmas Shopping. Even if you're not into copy stuff (as this is what it mostly is about) if you go into the centre they have some real designer bags and clothes at discount prices. Definitely worth a visit.

A huge flea market found in the middle of the metro! personally, I don't mind it because I don't really care about the brands and all, just be wary though

CAPITAL OF COPIES AND FAKES!! Actually it is quiet well organized for the majority of things people want: shoes, bags ect. A bit harder to find specialty things, in my case Mont Blanc Pens but a bit of looking and a bit of asking and all good. A bit far from central Manila, like a $10 cab ride but I got what I wanted.

If you love shoes & bags and cant afford the original ones , Greenhills is the place to be, Especially the Shoes , the Quality is too good , you will never know the difference , the best price you will pay for a pair of shoes is 1600 peso, you can also get the lower quality for 500peso . you will need an entire day there to shop.
you also got clothes , caps , jewellery, mobiles , watches & show pieces.

Is there a way to get from Subic Bay to Manila by ferry?
All I have seen is taking a taxi to Olongapo then the bus from there. Can you give me some alternative ways to travel that don't cost a lot?

Can you tell me how much I can expect to pay for a South Sea golden pearl stud earrings---approx. 10 mm with a 14k post--no diamonds?
How will I know where the pearls originated? I am looking to buy a China South Sea Golden.

Golden as pearls come from the Philippines or Indonesia not China . You should be able to find them in Greenhills for between 50-80 a pair on 14k posts . Bargain as they will start off high ! If you rub them against your teeth and they are gritty they are real .
Around how much for fake Michael Kors or Louis Vuitton??

Are the Tiangge’s are open today in ground floor? Cuz there was a time we went there, the Tiangge’s are closed cuz of changing their designated stall. Thank you.

Hi,
They do have a time when the shopping stalls / tiangge are closed — those days are when they reshuffle their location (I think) but even I don’t know what day of the month they do this.
Probably better if you call ahead and ask before heading to Greenhills (I’ve had the same experience where Tiangge was closed when I visited).
I don’t know their concierge number but maybe try their official website (you can Google it — unfortunately Tripadviser won’t let me post actual link in this reply. 😞
Enjoy your shopping!

I would say no. And a big part of the problem you would have at Greenhills is that the isles are moderately narrow and usually very crowded with people. Not only would maneuvering be a problem, but you might get jostled a bit.

I suggest reading online reviews first for some general ideas about your preferred model. Also try to clarify with the shop/s if it's second-hand.
I’d like to know whether the mall will be opened or not during Holy Week (March 29- April 1) in 2018.
