Hosdurg Fort is a majestic fort which can be seen from long distance.Its round bastion is the unique beautiful feature of this fort.45 caves is situated near this fort.

This is yet another fort built by Nayaks, who became the rulers of this area after the fall of Vijayanagara Empire. It almost ruined for lack of care and maintenance. The winding narrow road leading to the fort is occupied by antisocial elements, as evident from the empty liquor bottles seen there. Hope, the government of Kerala, will take care of this historic fort.

Hosdurg Fort is a fort in Kanhangad which is part of Kasaragod district in Kerala state. Hosdurg Fort with its round bastion looks imposing from a distance. Somashekara Nayaka from the Keladi Nayaka dynasty of Ikkeri built this fort. The place is made well known by the Nithyanandasram with 45 caves. The fort is now in ruins, but located nearby is a school and some government offices.
To the south-west of the fort is a temple that was also built by the Nayaks. The temple, dedicated to Shiva, is named the Poonkavanam Karpooreswara Temple.

Many tourists and history lovers visit this place as it has great views but needs maintenance..should be done soon..

This is another views with nice scenic views of the countryside.
However it's upkeep and maintenance leaves a lot to be desired. It appears to be in pretty poor condition and needs major renovation ans repair

One can go to this Fort in Kasargod district for some lovely views.
However the upkeep of the Fort leaves a lot to be desired. The Fort is not maintained well and Infact is in pretty poor condition

This fort is badly neglected. Really sad to see a place of such historical significance in such a bad state. Not worth a visit in its current condition.

Shocked to see the condition of this fort. Absolutely no regards for the historical heritage. Not worth visiting in its present state.
