My nature walk experience in Karsagod, Kerala was simply amazing! Our guide was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna. He gave us a fascinating insight into the various plantations and botanicals in the area, which made the walk even more enriching. The natural beauty of Karsagod is truly breathtaking and we felt so immersed in nature throughout the entire walk. The sights, sounds, and smells of the forest were invigorating and rejuvenating. I highly recommend this nature walk to anyone looking to connect with nature in a profound way. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

If I say simply then must visit this place. You can find peace with ease....my experience was so good .... what I liked the most is....cave experience, coconut water, and also hand made cap and bag, and also Mr.Ratnakar as a guide...he also shared a lot of information with us.

We had a fabulous few hours with Rathnakaran on his beautiful plantation, soaking in the amazing views, the peace and tranquility, and enjoying his knowledge and enthusiasm of the local plants and animals.
We saw how rubber mats are made, drank coconut water and fresh lemongrass tea, ate local bananas offered to us by the lovely ladies on the estate, smelled and tasted cloves, betel nuts, cinnamon, lemon, peppercorns, red chillis (bombs!), cashew fruit and more! We also had a live fish pedicure and got a natural fern leaf tattoo.
From the panoramic views at the beginning we walked down an irrigated hillside of coconut, Areca palm and rubber trees to the cool waters of the river in the valley. Even in the dry season this place is spectacular, a real oasis of a retreat. We loved it and would love to come back and stay in the lovely home stay property nestled in the trees.

The nature trekking tour with Rathnu was a blast. Seeing nature and all its parts in this way was just stunning. Next to that it gave a perfect different (beautiful) impression of India!

The owner of the huge garden of Eden / plantation takes you on a lovely 2 hours walk ( up and down). You can learn a lot about the lush Kerala flora and fauna. Rathnu is very keen on sharing his knowledge and skills. I highly recommend it.

An Experience of a lifetime , We decided to do this trek with Mr Ratnakar and it was our best decision in Bekal
Firstly as a person he is so humble and down to earth which made just a connection also great , He met us and made us very comfortable and we started our trek with lot of herbs and spices which either we smelt of tasted , The trek was amazing and we took a break in his home stay which I recommend everyone who wants to leverage nature to stay with him , He served us Lemon tea with herbs he had broken in front of us and it was amazing , He showed us the biggest butterfly in India
Then the best part was the waterfall that was terrific and an experince of a life time to feel a waterfall with just u and the family , Then he and his family served us a very nice Sadya meal which was out of the world
In the end he also helped us with buying spices for taking back home .. Best experince ever thank you so much Mr Ratnakar

we came to know about this HIDDEN GEM while planning our Bekal trip. Would have really regretted if would have missed visiting it. Its a "small piece of GODS OWN COUNTRY' easily accessible by road. A very well maintained extensive private forest area. Importantly Mr. Ratnakar, the owner was very passionate and enthusiastic when walking us through the guided tour. He provided minute details about various species of flora and fauna including their use, with great pride, He showed us clear water springs coming out of caves made in hillocks carved out by his family. There is a homestay option amidst such heaven, for nature lovers. There are numerous waterfalls in the trek and one of them a real private one to enjoy 'nature bath' with your loved ones. He was very enthusiastic in displaying his artistic skills by making various articles out of betel leaf stems in no time! Icing on the cake was a traditional keralian lunch at the end of the tour which has left an everlasting taste. It is a highly recommended must do activity while visiting Bekal.

Unfortunately tripadvisor provides for only give 5 stars, else we would have given 50 stars.
On our stay at Bekal, we decided to do this half day nature trek trip to Thonikadavu, after reading raving reviews on Tripadvisor. We loved every bit about this trek.
The owner and guide, Rathnakar ji took us through the entire nature trail. He is skilled and very familiar with this entire terrain. He showed us how to adapt to nature without exploiting it. He quickly wove out cap, bag from supari plant leaves which we could use during our trek. He also made us experience first hand various spices and plants on the way. The best part of this trek is the waterfall. So amazingly refreshing and not to be missed under any circumstances. He also opened a nice tender coconut for us to experience it along with water fall.
He also has amazing home stay option amidst this serene nature for those who would like to stay in lap of nature. He made a hot lemon grass tea from the leaves in the jungle and it so refreshing.
The trip ended with a traditional & finger licking Kerala food on a banana leaf. His family served us the food with lots of warmth.
My family including my kids who are 9 years old, loved this trip and are taking back amazing memories back home.

We had an amazing experience exploring the thonikadavu green hills where we chased watefalls, discovered different flora and fauna and had some delicious sadhya lunch. All thanks to the impeccable hospitality by Mr Ratnakar who left no stone unturned in making us feel at home. He also wove a lovely bag and cap on the spot for us out of a supari tree back. Truly an artisan in the making

One of best nature trails ever! The kids and us experienced very beautiful and knowledgeable trail where and ended with relaxing under the waterfall! We got to see India's largest butterflies, and got to go insite man made caves as well!! It's a must do for any age! Ratnakar an, the host and owner of the property is very friendly and goes out of his way to make the trip absolutely worth it!!

We are a group of 6 adults & 5 children & have plans to visit the place on 27/10 or 28/10. The age of each child is 12 years, 10 years, 8 years, 6 years & 4 years. Kindly confirm if it will be comfortable to visit with small children. Also confirm about prior appointment

Hello... the nature walk will be little difficult for small children. Although the owner has jeep. It is better to fix an appointment with the owner, Mr Ratnakar . His number is 09847410210. He will suggest you what to do

The best season , in India would be the cooler times of the year.
This is walking tour through a plantation . So the best times would be after the monsoon in October through to Feb/ maybe even March.
It is a well spent day with the owners taking you round the exotic plantation and you see a way of life , close to nature at its lushest,which will dissappear with the push of modernity
