The hall was very interesting. Very welcoming and helpful staff. Our granddaughters really enjoyed the bug trail. They also loved the play area. Lunch in the cafe was excellent. However, when we went outside for ice cream that was a less satisfactory experience. The one girl serving seemed a bit overwhelmed by all the orders and was thrown when the ice cream machine broke down mid order. As a result a long queue formed. A more limited menu for outside service would help to speed things up.

Fabulous guided tourof this magnificent Tudor home. The gardens are lovely too and nice that they are open for everyone to explore. The house is beautiful, well maintained and very quirky. Worth a visit!!

This is a great place to walk your dog. Plenty of places for them to sniff both in the park as well as the woods. The only slight concern would be if your dog is attracted to small children as there are usually quite a few around

A fabulous 14th century manor house. Very well presented and in great restoration. Very nice atmosphere. The solar or Great Chamber together with the restored plaster ceiling in the Withdrawing Room are fantastic. Will visit again to visit the gardens as well next time. Nice cafe with good food and excellent service.

Definitely worth a visit! We bought a guide book together with our tickets and were able to read about every room, its history and its contents. Altogether it took us an hour around the hour, and another 90-minute pleasant stroll around the park and ponds.

What is Bramhall Hall & Park?
Bramhall Hall & Park is a Tudor building which is a visitor attraction that is located in the heart of Stockport, Greater Manchester.
It consists of 3 floors that gives you a brilliant insight of how people lived there in the old times. The Davenports were the first family that lived there followed by the Neville family.
What rooms are inside Bramhall Hall?
Bramhall Hall is a historical building that contains numerous rooms. They are:
The Chapel
Banqueting Room
Entertainment Room
Solar Room
Servant Rooms
Master Bedroom
Bedroom for children born
Dining Room
Kitchen
Office
Chapel
The Chapel is a beautiful building with coloured glass windows. It was lovely in presentation as a sermon was to happen. This was where religious service and weddings took place during those times. There was also a good variety of objects including an altar and a fire place.
Banqueting Room
This room inside Bramhall Hall was used to bring guests together and to dine together. The art work in this room was exquisite and it featured elements of Stone Henge. It went well with the furniture of the room.
The Solar Room
This room has incredible high ceilings and amazing chandeliers hanging on the roof. There were some nice items inside cabinets including fine chinaware.
Entertainment Room
This room was where the family living at Bramhall Hall during the old times would entertain their guests. The room is of a decent size and includes a pool table. The paintings on the walls were superb and had an oriental feel that was unique.
The Servants Rooms
These rooms were detailed and had the essential items too. Some servants would share a room. This was the case in one of the rooms where there was a number of beds with brushes, a simple toilet and wash bowl. Some of the items were tactile and it was a lovely feeling to touch them to get their texture.
Servants would work at 6am till 10pm.
Dining Room
The dining room was impressive. The dining table was lovely with all the plates, bowls and cutlery organised on the table. There were also lovely artwork that surrounded the room. When the Davenport/Neville families dined in this room yet whilst doing so they would also enjoy the views of the garden. A lovely pleasant room.
The Kitchen
The Kitchen gave moments of nostalgia with the old kitchen utensils that you would recognise during the old times. It also had a machine in which they cleaned clothes. It was great.
Entry and Admission
In order to enter Bramhall Hall you are required to book a ticket online and pay for it in advance before the date of your visit.
For pricing details then check out the Bramhall Hall website for further information.
Facilities
There is a nice park with beautiful views and a small lake.
There is a café on site that serves a variety of hot and cold food including Sandwiches, Chips and Cakes. There are also hot and cold drinks on offer too. It is reasonably priced.
Toilets are on site.
Access
As Bramhall Hall is an old historical building therefore there are no lifts. As a result you will need to use the stairs in order to access all floors of the building. In addition, some rooms have a number of steps to go up and down in order to enter the rooms. If you are visually impaired then take your time going up and down them.
Parking
Bramhall Hall has its own designated car park which is free to use. There are also some disabled bays where people with a Blue Badge can park there for 3 hours.
If you love to learn about life in a historical building in a way that is interesting, engaging and informative then Bramhall Hall is the place for you.

Bramhall hall really excels as a historic house to visit. It is deceiving in that it is alot bigger than expected. We probably spent more time in this house than in any we have previously visited and you definitely get your money's worth.
It is so great to have both guides and the interactive screens which play really informative videos about the history of each room.
The house itself is really beautiful and has some really special, unique features. The Christmas decorations were wonderful and festive and really added to the experience. You can really appreciate the hard work that has been put into making a visit a memorable experience.

Many people think Bramhall Hall is Tudor but their own guide states it,'s Elizabethan. but it's still worth seeing.
It has some lovely grounds with three lakes and woodland walks.
The main lake is constantly replenished from the stream which enters the lake at one end and then exits at the other.
The rooms themself never change but what's in them does from time to time so you get a variety of things on a changing basis.
For people out of town, the carpark is round the back so from the roundabout on Bramhall lane going from Barmhall to Stockport turn first left at the Oasis Dental Practice follow for about a quarter of a mile then turn left again at the post box on your right.
there are 2 carparks both with disabled bays be warned if you have walking difficulties as there are a lot of steps down to the lake or from the carpark go down the main footpath which has a slight hill.

Really good value for a country house, a must see if you like Tudor architecture. Nice gardens to walk around. Just be aware there isn’t much parking.

I went here during Heritage weekend and booked this event online. It is many years since I have visited. The two ladies on the reception desk were very helpful, smiling and smartly dressed. They easily answered my questions. I was informed that the hall had been shut and restoration work had been completed. It was quiet and I had the place to myself. It was just wonderful. There was presentation screens in some of the rooms to give you just the right amount of information eg solar room and plastered ornate ceiling and how it has been restored. Very interesting. There was a well stocked visitors centre, a cafe within the walled garden, toilets and children’s play area. The grounds surrounding the hall is a hidden treasure we have yet to explore. Parking was limited and you can pay with coins or an app. It wasn’t very expensive to park. The walk to the hall from the car park was pretty with colourful borders. You could definitely make a whole day by visiting the hall, lunch and exploring the many paths and water features.

Does the cafe sell ice cream? Does the park have anywhere else to buy ice cream?

Hi, yes and there is often an ice cream van too.
