A circular walk with some nice views to one side but an industrial wasteland in the center. Fortunately earth berms hide some of it. Work in progress so maybe it will improve.

We went there hoping a lot, but returned soon enough without coming upon anything that help our interest. Maybe we statred of at the wromg end of the trail or something. So from the cleveland avenue side, there were only dog walkers on the trail. Some empty lorries , some abandoned boats, soem sad homeless wanderers beginning theor morning. But neither water nor trail visibe even after we took courage to cross soem planks and ropes...

Visit the center. First Nation and other have original items and information about BC and the area. Also, had info about the whole coastal area along the Sea to Sky Highway

we wanted to do this walk and found it really nice but it was difficult to find, the signs that still exist are very worn if not missing . I feel there is real potential for this to be updated and highlighted by Squamish but it just feels neglected at the moment.
Don't let this put you off though as the walk itself is interesting anyway with great views.

The drive to the beach parking is not well marked and questionable along a gravel road. When we found the area it is very industrial and unwelcoming. The care for this area and especially the ocean seems burdened and depressed. On the positive note it looks like there is a movement to clean the ocean of toxins here. Not a place I wanted to swim or play at the beach. I'm sure spectacular mountain views make up for the pollution. I read a lot of charming reviews and pictures. I think there are better finds and more access elsewhere for family friendly adventures.

If you are staying at the Howe Sound Inn, the start is practically right out of the front door. This mostly crushed gravel trail is a pretty walk, mostly in the shade, along a river, which reaches a beach on Howe Sound. It is adjacent to some abandoned industrial areas, but it's not like you are climbing over wreckage. The only signs of people I saw were a handful of dog walkers and a couple of folks on bike (going slow). I was birding so moved very slowly and it was a rather productive spot for birds. There area few bugs, so if you are sensitive bug repellent is recommended.

When we first arrived here, we almost turned around to leave as it felt like a run down industrial area. But we persevered, and were glad that we did, as there was an interesting shoreline with huge pieces of driftwood that we found entertaining to explore.

My husband and I decided to go on a romantic evening stroll around the Oceanfront Loop having read a charming description of the walk in a local publication that promised wildlife and views. For much of the walk, there were no views apart from the scrubland and rubbish - for the first half of the walk even the views of the water were screened by the trees. Half way through the walk, the route goes through a car park which in the evening is frequented by the local druggies. We felt very uncomfortable and quite unsafe as some of the people in the car park were having a heated argument. Bearing in mind this walk is advertised so favourably, my concern is that families may decide to take children and, from our experience in the evening, this is not a suitable area for them.

This is a lovely little trail. It's about 30-45 minutes of a loop. The route changes intermittently due to easements, but it will allow you to walk out along the edges of the channels that define the "logging boom" area of the working wharf.
Parking is near Howe Sound Brew Pub.
You can also drive to the end.
