There were lots of different things to see and we spent nearly four hours here without managing to see everything.
We particularly liked the postbox collection and the way in which some areas were set up as if they were the insides of shops. It was great fun trying to spot packaging from products way back when and to see how some packaging of brands still used today has changed.
The reason we didn't score more highly was because there needed to be more information about items. Lots of items weren't labelled at all. Some items were numbered and there were no identification lists visible to find out what the numbers meant. There also weren't any items that could be handled, so that made it much less immersive for younger visitors. It might be worth purchasing a few items that could be handled, or making copies of some for that purpose. Still, we recognised the that attraction is advertised as a nostalgia trip, rather than a complete learning experience. The collections are to be preserved, rather than used in that way. I did note though that a number of other visitors expressed regret that they couldn't read newspapers or books on show- could some sections be copied and laminated?
The cafe was very reasonably priced and the food was tasty. We were all really disappointed with the gift shop. Not so much as a fridge magnet with the name of the attraction! We sadly left empty handed...

We dressed up warmly as we knew the museum was in warehouse / farm buildings. It was absolutely wonderfully warm & cosy in the museum & cafe , thanks to the underfloor heating. Meant we could look at the fabulous collection in perfect comfort and enjoy a really reasonably priced coffee too. A great place to visit at this time of year.
We particularly loved the cabinets the displays were in - presumably salvaged from shops too. Thank you.

This is a little gem in the middle of the countryside.
Such a find for breakfast which is freshly cooked and very good value for money.
There is a fascinating museum on site which after many visits to eat we haven’t had a chance to visit as yet,its a step back in time and one day we will see it properly.
Also if you are a Gromit fan they have several beautiful ones and Wallace shares the room while you eat your meal,lunches are also served.Highly recommend.

So much to see! What an amazing place. Spend 2 hours and it wasn't enough. Definitely going to revisit when we're back in the area. A great way to make good use of the day when it's raining!

This place is a must to stop and see. The place inside is huge with lots and lots on display. The cafeteria is also well worth a visit. The staff are all great and the food is reasonably priced. There is a mixture of items from several postal boxes, tractors, cars, bikes and how old shops used to look, There is room after room of a plethora of products on display. A definite must see.

When we were visiting the Bristol area this was a great place to find and enjoy some wonderful exhibits. So many many things to see and enjoy and bring back wonderful memories. There is such range of different things to see it’s amazing. I’m hoping to go back and have another look round it all again because I can guarantee that I’ve missed something. Also there is a very good restaurant with lovely home made food.

A group of 25 members from Hambrook Probus visited the Museum and were made very welcome by the team on site. Members spent many hours looking at the exhibits and reminiscing about things they remembered from from years gone by. There was something for everyone to talk about and share memories.
All enjoyed the Museum and time in the Café where the food was excellent and very good value.

A delightful step back into the past thousands of exhibits and some household brands which are still going strong. we live very near so didn't use the cafe but I'm sure it would be very good.

A lovely ‘laid back’ experience that transports you to a different world. A pleasure to take our 3 year old grandson to see artefacts from the past, right up to modern day grommits. Really stirs up your memories of items that have come and gone in our lifetimes. The highlight of our trip for our grandson was the working model railway. The cafe is lovely, extensive menu and all home made with lovely staff. Very spacious and a good for a rest half way through your visit. Easy parking too right outside the museum.

Oakham Treasures is one total experience. From entering to leaving you are presented with so many exhibits which stir up long lost memories. When you think that you have reached the end you will discover another room with more treasures. There is something for everyone in this museum. Just leave yourself enough time for your visit. There is also an excellent cafe/ restaurant on site so you can refresh yourself during your visit.

You will love it.
We are 68 with replacement knees and several feet operations so You can rest your feet as you go around, as there is a lot to see. I hope you will enjoy it as much as we did.
