Power cut today but managed to visit. As we arrived the NT staff announced the power had gone again but we took a walk around the grounds and by the time we came back the power was on.
The house is beautiful decorated with a 12 days of Christmas theme. Loved the gold rings above the entrance.
Very interesting inside will certainly return in the summer.
Cafe was super busy due to the rain so we didn't get in but used the little kiosk for hot drinks.
Would have loved to see more Christmas decorations in the shop.

Drove for 90 minutes to get there only to find it had just closed due to a power outage. Fair enough, these things happen - but seriously, couldn’t the National Trust find someone to stay by the gate to warn people and help cars to turnaround? We went all the way up the narrow and potholed lane to a closed gate where there was a traffic bottleneck and very little space to turnaround. Usual NT lack of common sense.

Fantastic hose and gardens and a very interesting insight into the life of Benjamin Disraeli. Knowledgeable and friendly staff always eager to help.

No! No! NO! The National Trust is NOT a place to bring your dogs.
It is a preservation and display of historical buildings and grounds that are maintained to an extremely high standard for the enjoyment of people who appreciate this.
Stop this please. There are plenty of open spaces, parks streets and so on to walk dogs. They do not need to be accepted into hotels, the National Trust Homes, National Trust grounds and gardens and so on. Get some standards back in this broken down society that says "yes" to everything.
Over the last two or so years, I have also noted that inside these buildings they seem to be more intent on printing info boards and new ideas that simply ruin what was a beautiful untouched space.
So if you do have the idea of 'moving with the time' then loose it. We visit to see the old - not the new!
Last off, the condition and quality / presentation of these spaces is overall looking scrappy. Tidy it up, clean it up and dust it up!
Charge more if you have to but BE more because you are slipping - a lot. Overall, across the board.
Like most of the tired old, backdated, and modernly historical UK, you really can't be bothered anymore and even behind the ticket offices and travelling around this effortless and 'profit' driven approach is on display to the laughing world.
It's up to you and anyone else, fix it or loose.

Not only is this a great stately home, but it also gives a good history lesson about the famous British Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli. There are many artifacts related to the great man's life. Particularly interesting is the video about his relationship with Queen Victoria. Around the mansion is a lovely garden, and nearby is the church where Disraeli is buried.

Good day out, we only saw the house which can be done in one to one and a half hours, but you can spend plenty of additional time in the grounds. A good insight into Disraeli's lige including some insight into Queen Victoria. The use of the house as a map making centre during WWIi was a good addition and we all found this interesting and informative. All staff very welcoming and knowledgeable. Watch out for the resident red kite!

Everyone is so friendly there. Shows a Victorian decor of that period. Learn history of the prime minister and somethings about Queen Victoria. Grounds are well kept and plenty of walk available. Cafe had some good food for my lunch.

Overall we enjoyed our visit. The NT ladies who did the talks we thought were exceptional. Would have preferred more on Disraeli and less on WW2 but this is of course a personal preference. Yummy food.

We had friends over for the weekend and had planned to go to Hughenden Manor on Saturday but the weather put paid to that. Luckily , today there was a gap so we got there and we had a lovely time . The manor is full of interesting memorabilia about Benjamin Disraeli and the map drawing service of the Second World War. Everything is beautifully displayed with lots of volunteers available for explanations . It isn’t very large but also has lovely well cared for gardens with deck chairs when it is a lovely day . In the stables there is a good cafe and gift shop . It is set in beautiful grounds which seemed good for walking dogs and children
