We did not visit the Deva Roman Experience but did take part in the Soldier School. It was just a small group yesterday with five children and their parents. They learned to march in various formations just like a Roman soldier and marched through the streets to the Roman Gardens and then on to the amphitheatre. The children loved it and it looked as if the parents did too! It was a fun way to learn some of our history and was very well done. The Roman centurion who led them was very amusing and friendly but also firm so everyone was doing what they needed to do. If we are visiting the city again we would probably join in again and already plan to return to do the Deva Roman Experience.

We had a brilliant time at the Deva Roman Experience. Actor/Guides are fab. The tour is fun and informative. Highly recommended 👌

As a part of our Roman's topic, we visited the Deva Roman Experience. Our tour guide, Rob, was so accommodating and provided for all our needs. We're from a specialist setting who educate children and young people with autism as well as additional learning needs, so we needed to ensure that the trip was appropriate for our young people's sensory needs. Through discussion with Rob, he was able to adapt the tour to provide a safe and comfortable experience for our young people and went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. This trip is absolutely worthwhile for anyone who would like to learn more about the Romans, from educational settings to visitors and tourists. Rob is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the topic and this enthusiasm shone through to make for an incredible visit. Thank you, Deva Roman Experience!

On the day I visited, unfortunately nobody else had booked in for the same show as me but, rather than disappoint me, the staff at Deva gave me a tour all of my own. This was so kind of them - not least because they had also refunded my entrance money. They could not have done more. The tour itself was absolutely fascinating - my guide displayed a really sound knowledge of the history in question and shared some absolutely fascinating detail with me. It was such a privilege to see and touch the amazing exhibits and to see the ancient walls below the building. I would definitely go again - I cannot recommend this venue highly enough.

Absolutely fantastic! Family of 5 from 7-13, all really enjoyed it! Great timing and no wait at all. Would recommend buying tickets before. Would go again!

The presentations were full of interesting insights about life in Roman occupied Great Britain. I like that the presenters were dressed in period costume.

At the DEVA Roman Experience, my friend and I had the best time ever! We were taken back in time to the Roman era as soon as we arrived. We watched seven shows to learn about Roman history, culture, and daily life. The Boat and Defend Deva were our two favourite shows. The immersive quality and close attention to detail made for an extremely enjoyable experience. Each element, including the architecture of the building, was carefully planned to give it a more authentic feel.
All in all, the experience really exceeded expectations. It was the ideal balance of knowledge, amusement, and enjoyment. My friend and I had a greater respect for Roman history and past experiences once we left. Anyone searching for unforgettable and rewarding adventure should definitely consider this experience!

Exceptional experience from booking it at the door through the entire historical experience. Great for the kids and adults. Booked last minute, day before Chester Zoo, and soooo glad we did.

This was our first immersive experience and we thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish. All of the actors were excellent, knowledgeable and very funny. Just wished it went on longer. Would highly recommend

I recently visited Deva with my daughter and grandchildren, the actors were very good and we felt immersed in the experience at all times. If you are in Chester with your family pay them a visit you won’t be disappointed!

Is this place suitable for people with mobility problems. i use a small, fold up electric mobility scooter, would this be allowed?
