Although we missed the falconry show we did enjoy the beautiful nature grounds were these birds of prey strut their stuff.
Walking around the wonderful Roman walls you can see the beauty of the well kept green area with the magnificent Chester Cathedral as a stunning backdrop, its such a lovely green area and has some nice walkways, its a lovely nature area and most definitely well worth checking out if your planning a trip to Chester.

My boyfriend got me an annual pass which was a great Christmas present idea. The birds are amazing, the staff are really friendly and know loads about the birds. Pickle the American kestrel is my favourite. I always recommend the falconry when people ask me about things to do in Chester.

We were walking the walls of Chester and came across the falconry centre and as a show was on decided to go in. It was great! Informative with two very enthusiastic and passionate staff, it was a great way to spend an hour. Fully recommend.

Our 6 year old and a friend had their 6th birthday party here. The kids were whole heartedly engaged for the entire time they were there. The staff were excellent and the way they interacted with the kids was superb. The kids learnt so much and had a blast. Thank you to all the staff for making it such a special occasion for the girls

Always great value, especially as the handlers are great with visitors and children and the displays are both interactive and informative (although not if you don't like the idea of mice being eaten)

Visited on a stormy weekend so no flying displays but this was made clear at purchase. Had a great time interacting with the birds, and the keepers were really knowledgeable and friendly. Being able to go back during the day meant we saw different birds out, feeding and the ferrets!

Discovered this little gem whilst wandering the city. Very glad we did! We arrived just before a display, where we got to watch three beautiful birds strut their stuff. Their handler was very knowledgable and passionate about his work and it was especially wonderful to meet some birds that are not common in falconry displays such as a vulture. After this display, we were able to meet their two ferrets, Biscuit and Lucky, who had all the charm and joy that a ferret should. I thought it was especially interesting to have them there, since they do have a history with falconry, so it was really cool to see them side by side to the birds
All in all, a wonderful little place, a splash of nature in the centre of the city!

We arrived here and paid £16 for two adults and a child. When we first went in and saw how small it was, we were a little worried. However, a lovely friendly young man came out of the office and allowed us to hold some of the birds. He was so good with our boy and was really informative. Then we watched the display and saw four birds being flown. The display was great because the birds came really close, one even landing on our heads. The two falconers were again, really informative and friendly and obviously cared greatly for their birds. The audience were allowed to have a go at flying the birds and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The fact that you can go back throughout the day is also a bonus as you could go and see different birds flying.

I have visited many wonderful Cathedrals ,this one is up there with the best, it is free to visit but please make a donation . No one young or old could not stand and marvel at this wonderful biulding inside or out dont miss it ,

Visited here on a drizzly day but it was still incredible! Staff were very friendly and their passion for the birds was clear. Got the chance to hold the lovely Falcon Peanut! Then got to see a hawk and an owl out flying. Definitely a must see if you're in Chester, and I'll be back here again in the future.

Thanks for your question - we are indeed open tomorrow. Unfortunately, there is no parking on-site, though there is plenty of car parking nearby - search 'Chester parking' on google if you need any advice.

Do you know if they are flying on Sunday? Also do I need to book to hold the birds? Tried clicking on the email icon and nothing works. Would appreciate any advice or info, thanks!

There are flying displays daily - though it's best to call the Falconry Centre on Sunday morning simply to check what times will take place that day - 01244 699053. I hope that helps.

Just wondering what people thought of the welfare? Seems to be good but need to double check, dont want to put money into a place that doesnt look after their animals!

I've travelled the world studying animal collectiona and have studied animal behaviour and the welfare of the animals at this place seemed top priority!!
