The instructors were really helpful and all of us learnt to surf in a couple of hours which was amazing! Definitely recommend to everyone who wants to learn how to surf!

One of the Top 5 Must-Do things in St Ives (up with Tate, Barbara Hepworth Museum, Cornish Pasty & EscapeTime). The school provide everything you need as a beginner, you should end up standing on your surf board (by one of two techniques), and riding those waves! Ben was a great teacher & is closely watching you, to make sure that you get the best out of the surf time! He led us in some warm up exercises & lunges, which prepared us appropriately. My only additional hint may have been to do some cool down exercises, but TBH I was too tired and exhilarated after the two hours in the sea!

Can't praise them highly enough. A brilliant friendly and highly experienced professional surf school. Had some beginners lessons with Hattie and Harris a few weeks ago who were both so supportive, enthusiastic and very patient. The whole experience was just such a fantastic introduction to surfing. Honestly couldn't have asked for better teachers in a fabulous location. Thank you guys, Can't wait to return!

To Harris and the team.at St.Ives surf school - thank you so much for giving both my sons such an amazing experience in the waves. By the end of the summer they were both up and surfing and I think you have given them the bug. Your team are so accommodating, so kind and so skilled. My son Khalil has special needs and he took an immediate shine to Harris , who so kindly took him out on nearly all his lessons and was so wonderfully engaging and patient with him. You gave him a magical 12th birthday catching waves and being in the sea on a glorious day - I don't think he will ever forget it.
Thank you so so much. We can't wait to see you again soon. ❤

My wife booked a surf lesson for our nine year old. This is his first proper UK beach holiday, for various reasons the sea has largely been off limits for us. Point is, he’s never surfed, and is inexperienced with the sea.
I think our lesson all told lasted close to three hours, definitely longer than expected. Georgia was our instructor and she was fantastic, certainly my boy came out thinking she’d paid him a lot of attention, and I think probably everyone felt she’d been attentive to them. I was in the water as an aid to my son - I’d recommend this if your kid’s young and inexperienced. There was another boy about his age who didn’t have a parent helping him, and he struggled.
By the end of the session, my boy could get himself up into the board, standing, and ride a wave in to the beach. Absolutely amazing and I genuinely think Georgia enjoyed watching him succeed as much as I did (or maybe she was just laughing at me jumping like a loon and cheering him on!)
Both my son and I came away thinking this was the best thing we’d done all holiday. And I am NOT a water baby! I can’t fault the venue, activity or staff. Or the price! It really was just perfect, I couldn’t possibly give less than five stars.

Awesome surf lesson for my three boys. We had a great few hours learning to surf in the gentle waves at Porthminster beach in St. Ives. Instructor Otto was great with all the kids and everyone stood up a couple of times. Lots of fun!!!

first surf experience and lesson for our two. Whole experience was great from start to finish, they loved it. We also had a family coasteering session, also amazing. All staff friendly and experienced. Both sessions reasonably priced and lasted a good 2 hours. Loved it so much went back and hired boards the next day - would def recommend - thank you
My only suggestion - a shame there's no opportunity for pics while coasteering (obs you cant take a phone with you!) maybe one of the instructors with a go-pro? Would def have loved and would have bought some pics of us all (a money making suggestion maybe haha)

Staff were super friendly and understanding.
Thought the rates for paddle boards were reasonable.

Afternoon coasteering from Porthmeor beach, great team of guides from St Ives Surf School and fantastic mix of swimming through swell and channels and all important adrenaline rush jumps into the clear blue waters. A great way to spend a couple of hours and a massive thumbs up from a 15 year old!

Booked 4 children on for beginners lesson with Matt and Jude, last minute I asked could I join too. The whole crew were amazing, helpful, encouraging, fun and patient. My eldest son took a knock back of head from a board and they acted immediately to assist him. Another got a weaver fish sting and again they knew exactly what to do were extremely professional and within 20 mins had him smiling again and good to go. This is a great set up, great staff couldn’t speak more highly. We had a great day at st Ives beach and it all started from here. Money well spent. Great value for money. Thank you everyone
