‪A beautiful walk on a lovely November day. Very few were on the path. It had rained heavily the day before and pats were very slippery. You need decent boots for this and be prepared for some tricky walking up and down with large rocks. Too us about 4.5 hours, frequently stopping to admire the views. The views are stunningly beautiful.‬

‪My tip is to do this walk when it is dry and not rainy weather. Parts of the path are muddy and slippery, you will be required to walk up and down steep hills and stones and boulders so if it is rainy I cannot imagine how slippery this will be, not to mention dangerous. We set out at about 1pm and were in Zennor at about 6pm. It was a fabulous walk, scenic and we felt immersed in nature. We saw some interesting beetles and insects and lots of wild flowers. The wild garlic was accompanying us with its garlicky scent and walkers along the route were encouraging and greeting us. One downside, apart from the difficult stretches here and there is now there is no signage really along the way and there are several ways in which you could take the wrong turn. We were luch we found other walkers helping us with directions but at times it felt as if the blind were leading the blind. We had a nine year old and granny along with us and it took time as we took a couple of 20 minute breaks for water and to take in the views. I do recommend being prepared for winds and having solid shoes for walking or good trainers with good grip. My soles were slightly worn out and there were areas where I slipped and slid. No sandals and no flip flops and make sure you can walk hands free as it is useful to use hands for balance now and then. An amazing reward are the views and when you get to Zennor there is a lovely pub, Tinners Arms for some rest.‬

‪Walked from Zennor to St Ives with partner and parents. We did the coastal route and it took 4hours 16minutes, including our small 10 minute breaks.

Our Apple Watches said that the journey was close to 12 kilometres (7.5miles), which was definitely further than we had read about before embarking!

We took a taxi (£15) from St ives to Zennor, to avoid crowding on the bus. Taxi driver also thought it was a better way to do it, as you get the hard parts out the way first.

There is a section around 3KM in, where you will be climbing up/down a wet section, that’s slightly slippery. Afterwards, there’s a rocky section along the beach line. After this, it’s pretty consistent all the way to St Ives. Sections have narrow pathways, with overgrown nettles etc.

If I were to do it again:
- don’t wear shorts
- bring lots of water, lots of areas very exposed to the sun
- make sure shoes are very grippy

Super enjoyable and rewarding. Finished the day with a couple of pints in St Ives. There was no part where I felt the parents were out of their depth, but it DOES require a little bit of dexterity to move through rocks and clamber up some slippery parts.‬

‪It’s a great treking, awesome views and even though many people here says that it’s extremely hard, I didn’t feel it that way. Couple of recommendations though: wear a good pair of shoes/trainers and be aware that there are parts with lots of grown flora so better if you don’t wear shorts. Bring food/water. Be prepared to climb some rocks but is not that bad! You will definitely enjoy it!‬

‪There is one of the most beautiful walks ever - but don't expect it to be a flip-flops experience or to take great granny. Parts are clambering over boulders or wading through mus. The circular part is an inland walk which is also lovely. Watch out for chuffs too.‬

‪We decided to walk from St Ives to Zennor as easier parking. Can park at Zennor for just £1 all day and bus stop to St Ives just in front. At time of writing bus leaves quarter to each hour and adult fare is £4.

Walk from centre of St Ives back to Zennor is 6.5 miles and you leave the hordes behind pretty quickly. (St Ives is beautiful but sooo busy).

Took us 3 hours at steady pace, . Very stony and rocky coastal track which runs close to cliff edge at numerous points. Not very dog or children friendly and wouldn't want to walk in poor visibility. Plan for it to be a few degrees cooler and windy too than in the town.

Gradients were not too difficult but the rocks slow you down and a couple of places require somr minor scrambling. The last third of the path was probably the hardest going, in terms of rocks, so some people may prefer to walk Zennor to St Ives instead and get this part done
first.‬

‪We walked from St. Ives to Zennor along the coastal path. This is truly a spectacular walk, incredible sights all round. However, if you have a fear of heights like myself, I would strongly recommend a less challenging route. We ended up trekking through several fields to get onto a main road to Zennor when the fear factor got the better of me (road journey was also a beautiful, less terrifying route).‬

‪Last week, we did the coastal path walk to Zennor from St Ives having last done it about 15 years ago. We knew that it wqs not an easy walk but it was definitely harder than we remembered. There was a lot of scrambling up & down over rocks and a couple times I had to resort to sitting down and jumping off boulders as they were too high and too slippery to just walk down. Guide books put it as 7 miles but our fitness watches recorded it at closer to 9.
All this being said, we really enjoyed it and were pleased to have completed it. The views were amazing as we had glorious weather - I would not recommend it in bad weather as, not only would the views be lost, but also the rocks would be way too slippery.
When we got to Zennor we had a lovely lunch in the garden of The Tinners Arms and headed back on the alternative 'field' footpath which was much shorter (about 4.5/5 miles). The only issue with this was that, already having very weary legs, the very high stiles at the end of each and every field became tiresome on the knees.
Enjoy the walk but don't go into it thinking it's just a stroll along the coast.‬

‪On this occasion we couldn't make it all the way from St Ives to Zennor, it was like a double workout in the massively strong wind, but oh it is SO worth it for the views.
The crowds really peter out once you leave St Ives, even just beyond the bowling green, so it felt like us versus the elements, as it must have done for centuries. The views each way along the coast at Clodgy are simply awesome, helped by lively surf, brilliant sunshine and those winds. For some of it the path is actually tarmaced, but even after that the route is clear with varied terrain...grass, mud, boulders or all three together!
Next time we WILL make it all the way!‬

‪Wow! We walked from St Ives to Zennor on the South West Coast Path! 7.5 miles of gorgeous uninterrupted views! Not for the faint hearted, some very challenging terrain - boulders, steep climb and tricky descents! But wouldn’t have missed it! ‬
