Came here for a curious cream tea in a quirky venue. Lovely selection of treats served in a birdcage and accompanied by a delicious gin punch served in a teapot which complemented the cakes. The manager even provides a digestif to aid post cake overindulgence! Beautifully made cocktails, with many ingredients handmade by the staff, who are clearly very knowledgeable. Bar is beautifully decorated with Victorian explorer theme.

Wow! Great cocktails with brilliant twists on classics. Very friendly service too. Visited on a day trip to Exeter and tried the ‘slider’ cocktails (these are only available til 6pm). What a brilliant idea, and sooo tasty. Highly recommend - we will be back whenever we visit Exeter again 🙌🏻

This is a hidden gem! I love going to this awesome little cocktail bar - not only are the drinks fantastic, the music is wicked and you get to watch classic movies! Staff are super friendly and very knowledgeable without being at all 'snobby' - don't know what you want to drink? Just ask Kieran and he'll fix you a cocktail you'll never forget. You don't even have to have a cocktail,; there's great beers and wine to choose from too. If you are visiting Exeter and want a treat then deffo check out these guys!

I never publicly leave reviews especially negative ones - I always prefer to sort matters out directly if things go wrong. However following a recent visit for afternoon tea with friends and the blatant untruths given in reply by Dr Inks to the feedback they left below (August 2022), and no responses to either of my emails following this visit, I felt I had no choice but to reply here.
Firstly we weren’t missing one cake, we were missing the whole afternoon tea! We didn’t even get to sit down!
So I wonder if the comments regarding a full refund, extra cocktails and a free return visit was for another party? It certainly wasn’t this occasion.
We were rudely greeted on arrival with the comment that there was no booking for us at all! (Even though I had the confirmation email and receipt for the deposit I had made in person!) and although we didn’t make a fuss, and were genuinely disappointed having arranged this celebration many weeks previously, all the staff wanted to do was move us on as quickly as possible as if it hadn’t happened.
Absolutely no effort was made to offer us anything in the way of an apology for messing up our booking and afternoon plans, in word or deed, and there was certainly NO offer of any complimentary cocktails!
We were told that you would be in contact regarding a discount on a future booking when you were less busy if I left my email address which I did, but again I never heard back from you and there was definitely NO offer made to us regarding a free of charge return visit. The only refund given was for the deposit I had paid in advance.
If you genuinely want to apologise for this debacle then I would offer a reconciliatory suggestion that you send me a gift voucher for a minimum of 4 complimentary afternoon teas (which is what you state is already available to us) that I can then raffle off at our next Hospicare fundraiser and draw this matter to a close. If needed I can email again so you can send confirmation!

Went with some mates after dinner for drinks - really solid options, staff were extremely helpful and friendly (advice to whiskey drinkers: get the Bucky Burns you won't regret it), loved the atmosphere, hidden gem, glad we went and will absolutely be coming again - don't understand the negative reviews honestly, couldn't recommend this place enough

After a visit here with a hen party, I’d highly recommend the cocktail masterclass that’s offered. The staff are knowledgable and we had such fun making different cocktails.

Great little place, tucked away on the quay side. Popped in with some friends to ease into a night out in Exeter and ended up staying longer to soak up the vibe. You could easily miss it, but I recommend seeking it out. The drinks menu is super fun and the bar staff are friendly and engaging and helped me out when I had no idea what to order. I barely ever leave reviews so this is definitely well earnt.

I recently visited with my wife. Had the most amazing cocktails, we had a cocktail with a very funny QR code I can absolutely recommend that one. We where also lucky that the happy hour was still on and we had these 9 mini cocktails for £30,-. Great value and amazing experience looking forward coming back here.

Discovered this place weeks ago and was amazed by the tropical decor and cosy vibe. Was a perfect place to grab some drinks with friends with lots of options to choose from! Can't wait to come back!

Great staff. Really friendly and knowledgeable. Fantastic choice of drinks, all beautifully made and presented. Plus the bar interior is very cool.

Sort Becky wrong site above those are the times for our sister site the Bronx bar and cue in Teignmouth doctor inks is open from 5 pm Tuesday-Sunday
