‪Anscheinend ist es ja der älteste Sitzungssaal der Welt, der noch regelmäßig benützt wird. Es ist schon imposant, wenn man da drinnen steht und sich vorstellt, dass da schon jahrhundertelang Entscheidungen gefällt werden.
Sehr interessant auch die Ausführungen des Herrn, der am Tag meines Besuches Aufsicht hatte.
Das einzige, das ich zu bemängeln habe, sind die Öffnungszeiten - schließt glaube ich schon um halb 4 oder halb 5.‬

‪We were passing through Exeter,so decided to have a look see at what it had to offer.
I was very impressed.
Very nice,clean and cultured.
I was very impressed with the Guildhall,didn't realise that it was the oldest civic building in England.

Plus to top it off,we had a mini tour by David who was very hospitable and knowledgeable.‬

‪Definitely worth a visit!‬

‪The Guildhall is in the High Street of Exeter. It is a beautiful old building only a short distance from the cathedral.
Definitely worth a visit (free admission just a donation). David and Ian were extremely knowledgable about the history and very friendly and accommodating. We only expected to pop in and spent over an hour. Enthralled.‬

‪Worth a visit‬

‪The Guildhall is in the High Street of Exeter. It is a beautiful old building which has managed to maintain its place in the city as the world has moved on.

It is a short distance from the cathedral and the Guildhall Shopping centre has evolved around it but not too negatively.

Well worth admiring this building if you like old buildings.‬

‪We held our COVID restricted wedding at Exeter Guildhall in May 2021. From the outset the Guildhall team were a delight to work with, especially under such challenging circumstances. Nicola and her team talked us through all the options for the big day and were on hand to answer my endless queries etc! All of the Guildhall staff made our special day such a delight. We are very pleased we selected the Exeter Guildhall for our wedding venue.‬
