As always we enjoyed our summer week this year in a extremely hot and sunny Devon! We had a surprise visit from family that live we don’t see very often for a few days and they enjoyed their stay in a 3 bedroom lodge too. We were in a four bedroom hot tub lodge and had a fab time fishing the beautiful lakes, enjoying the area and the club house bar restaurant. As always the hard working staff were friendly and could not do enough for us to give us the best stay possible. We have stayed in the cottages in the past but the lodge was modern, spacious and comfortable. Our dogs enjoyed it too! We look forward to our usual winter weekend break.

Just spent the most amazing week at Kingslakes. From driving down the lane in the first day and seeing the donkeys, the holiday just got better and better. We were a family for 8 arranging from 15 to 68 and everyone enjoyed it equally. The lodge was first class and the hot tub was and decking was a great feature.
There was fishing for everyone and the fish were beautiful, some amazing coloured carp.
The staff were all very professional and helpful.
The grounds were well kept and a pleasure to walk around.
The clubhouse was an extra bonus where the younger members of the family enjoyed a drink and played darts and pool most nights.
Unfortunately we never got around to trying the food at the club house as we enjoyed the fishing so much we fished until at 9pm every night. Will be on our list for next time.
We can’t wait to come again
There was fishing for everyone and the fish were beautiful, some amazing coloured carp.
The staff were all very professional and helpful.

excellent week,all the staff were VERY friendly,helpful and obliging.the food was splendid,and we caught fish every time we went.
we could perhaps have done with fewer geese!!!

We have been going to kingslake for 16 years same time every year first 2 weeks in May[we stay in White Hen] we have known Stuart and Emma right from the start [ 10 years] they know have Andrew Richard and Nicky working there it is nice to go on holiday somewhere that the owners and staff have always got time for there guests the fishing over the last 5 years has got better and better this is down to all the hard work that they have done the grounds are kept up very well the 2 new lakes are great and open spring 2025 i can't wait for next May[all ready booked] to fish them there is a clubhouse serving food and drinks if you want it the animals always make us laugh as they all have there own characters so if you are looking for a peaceful relaxing holiday with great people look up kingslake on the internet you wont be disappointed

Holiday cottage was great, great lakes, friendly/helpful staff on the grounds, in reception and restaurant. Will definitely visit again and advise all family and friends of this great place to stay

We have enjoyed many holidays here. We have loved staying in the dog friendly four bedroom two bathroom cottage with out door deck with views to a lake, huge grass area and woods. The owners and staff are super friendly and helpful, the grounds are beautiful and packed with wildlife. The on site animals are also friendly and a charm to visit. We love dining in their restaurant and the locally sauced food is wonderful. There is a great bar area and games room. There is a nice little on site shop. We enjoyed a week during the summer which was self catering and also a half board long weekend in December. There are plenty of dog friendly pubs and restaurants near by. The fishing is very good and being extended.

We have just had a wonderful Friday to Monday special 'all-inclusive' mini break at Kingslakes. All the 3 course meals and breakfasts were great, with an excellent choice, cooked beautifully, The bar & restaurant service was excellent at every visit too, very friendly, helpful and welcoming staff! The lodge is of a very high quality, with everything you need, towels & bathrobes and hot tub, extremely comfortable with stunning views across the lakes! We would highly recommend Kingslakes, it's peaceful, with excellent fishing superb lakeside bar & restaurant and a good base to visit both Devon and Cornwall especially Bude!

Another great two weeks holiday at kingslakes our third this year and three already booked for next year and once you have found as good a place as here why go anywhere else?
It was good to see all the staff still there with Andrew,Rich,Nicky and Jeff still as helpful and friendly as ever "thanks for the liver and onions" jeff
The fishing was tremendous in all the lakes we fished all due i believe to the time and care with superb management from Andrew assisted by Rich My only criticism and concern is the lack of space for storage of tackle for the 10cottages at the main car park area This is due to the shear amount of tackle brought by the carp and match anglers even with one angler bringing a large bivvy,fold up table extra large reclining chair and floor rug just for his wife,It would also be good to see a little consideration for others inside the storage shed and stack tackle neatly and not having to climb over wheelbarrow/boxes ect maybe another shed is required?
The two new lakes recently dug out are looking extremely good and will be an extremely popular addition to the complex and I wait with interest to see if Andrew gets his carp and catfish lakes?The restaurant again was first class and food again excellent thanks Jeff and chef Must mention Nicky great to chat and have a few laughs with you again.
We are looking forward to returning next March see you all then

This was our first visit but definitely won’t be the last. Emma, Jeff and Nicky were amazing and looked after us very well. Chef Mel cooks wonderful, tasty meals so there’s no need to go anywhere else. The site is beautiful and well maintained as are the lakes which are well stocked. Our cottage was clean and had everything we needed including scones, cream and jam which had been provided as a welcome treat. The peace and tranquility was just what we needed and the weather was fantastic too. Thank you Kingslakes!

This is an Amazing place to stay, based in Chilla North Devon
The nearest Beach is Bude just twenty minutes away
The complex is super clean and tidy with some Amazing accommodation to choose from
This year we treated our selves to a hot tub lodge 4 adults in our party if you enjoy fishing they are ideal, the first two lakes are only 2 minutes walk away
You have your own shed next to the lodge to keep all your fishing Tackle in
The Lodge is stunning wine cooler built in Fridge freezer/ Dish washer, oven microwave and so on its like home from home
The hob sits on the island giving you plenty of room to cook
On suite Bathrooms too each bedroom with views to die for
The surrounding woodland and lakes make it a real chilled out place to stay
The lakes cover all types of Angling from a Tench only lake, Carp Lake with Carp up to 24lb mixed lakes there is always a peg free what ever Lake you choose
The Bailiff Andy does know his stuff great guy very helpful
Nicky looks after your Booking in along with Owner Emma They have a small tackle shop of which is well stocked and a food shop also on site
Nothing is too much trouble if they can help they will
Then to cap it all of after a hard day doing nothing they have a Bar /Restaurant which serves some fantastic food at good realistic prices
It was that good we have booked again for next year

Is there any buses running near the site?

I don't think so as the site is pretty remote down typical devon country lanes i think that the nearest village is a few miles away suggest you ring Emma at kingslake for more information

I’ll answer the question myself.
No they don’t so if your here for a week and it rains everyday, you’ve got no chance of using it!
Shame as it’s pointless having it if you can’t use it.
Maybe it’s something the owners could think about.

I am a disabled pensioner with walking difficulties and reliant on my wife to carry fishing tackle ect do you have one bedroom accommodation very close to the lakes (preferably general fishing all species) which is suitable for our needs

Hi,
Due to our rural location there is no wi-fi in the cottages and lodges but it is available in the clubhouse. 3G & 4G are also available on most phone networks.

Hi,
Think I have just answered you on Facebook. O2 and Vodafone get decent 3G coverage but EE is not great.
The wifi is only available by the farmhouse from my office, not in the cottages.
