This was an amazing walk across the Valley of Rocks. We hiked to the top and walked across the rocks - there are several walks you can do. It is a hard hike, you need to be confident on the rocks if you choose that path! Lovely to see lots of wild goats grazing at various points on the rocks

Good walking shoes are a must for this walk as the ground is very uneven in places and there are some really steep hills. The views from the top of the rocks and the coastal path are absolutely stunning. The car park has plenty of spaces and the price to park is reasonable. Really clean toilets the car park. A lovely place to visit for those agile enough to do the walk.

From the township of Linton to the Valley of Rocks along the coast has some of the most spectacular coastal scenery you will find anywhere. It is an easy walk along the top of very high cliffs with views in each direction. A must do if in Linton

An exciting experience, with beautiful views. Quite a few picturesque points on a short walk from town to the valley of rocks.

Fantastic hike, spectacular views. There are a few places where you will need to trek uphill for a bit but most of the walk is very manageable for the average person.

You just cannot take in how beautiful this part of England really is. People travel many hours and miles just to miss what is here. Shame. It’s not a long walk from where we stayed in Lynton. The paths along the steep cliffs maybe a concern for some. Loads of great photo and video opportunities recommend the walk up to the rondo the main rock group. Spectacular views.
Only one café up towards the car park which was eye watering expensive . Take fluids and food with you. Overall just go and take the time to take it all in.

A beautiful walk, especially in low season. We parked in Linton near to the town hall and walked to the valley, it's only a mile away although there is parking in the valley itself. It can be as easy or hard as you like. Paths are good, the tracks not so easy.
We walked back to Lynmouth by the coastal path and it is steep in places.

Lovely walk here, worth the hike of about 2 miles for us... the weather can change quickly and we were glad we had waterproofs. But not for long then hot again. Worth a visit.

Spent a week in Lynmouth in Aug/Sep 2021 having visited the villages and Valley of Rocks on many many occasions previously and thus walked this path many times including 3 times during this most recent visit. These walks have always been from or to Lynton and the Valley. We did attempt this visit to walk beyond but the path becomes less clear as you exit the valley towards Woody Bay and you have to (for a period at least) leave the coast and follow the road. The path itself is cut into the cliff face and is narrow, and though I have walked freely along it since I was a child, for parents you need to be aware there is no fence and you are literally feet away from a fall down the cliff into the ocean, so if that is an issue for you avoid.

This area fossiliferous - have many contributors found fossils in the valley?

Not that I know of. The main spot for fossiling on the South West Coast Path are Lyme Regis and Charmouth on the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site in Dorset (about 2 hours away by car)
