This was a new experience for me, Dom the skipper was very knowledgeable & explained everything thoroughly. The boat Mystique was very well kitted out & had everything on board that we needed, thankfully the weather was kind to us with the sun shining all day.
I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone wanting to sail for the first time.

The Day Skipper course is expertly run by a highly experienced skipper skilled in sifting out the essential instructions needed to learn to sail independently. Highly recommended!

We had a fabulous sailing experience around Plymouth Sound, the nearby coast and even a little tour of the Naval dockyards.
Our Skipper, Giles was incredible, made everyone feel at ease and was very inclusive, making sure that all of ‘the crew’ (of complete novices) had a truly memorable day. He even combined his sailing training with extensive information about the local coast. He was genuinely the perfect host and the yacht was excellent. Thanks also to Katie for organising everything and making the day run so smoothly.

Did what it said on the can but was also so much more. The boat was comfy, clean and idiosyncratic to sail, the instructor was original and extremely competent and his cooking excellent. We had some challenging weather at times but our instructor gave us a real experience of different conditions very professionally and safely. I feel ready to sail!

This was a fantastic course, a five-star service from beginning to end. Tim our instructor was excellent and we got some good miles in sailing from Plymouth to Salcombe, Dartmouth and back.
Totaly recommend this course to anyone seeking to qualify as a Day Skipper.

Just back from a brilliant day - Giles our skipper was amazing- knowledgable about the area as well as the yacht and extremely patient and took time to ensure all on board achieved their aims for the day - yacht beautifully kept and very comfortable with plenty of room for everyone - wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone and has certainly whetted our appetites to go on and complete our competent crew course when a bit warmer!

We had a brilliant week doing our competent crew course and Charlie was a great instructor! Not only did we learn a lot, but we had a lot of fun along the way. The boat was immaculate, spacious and modern as well. I highly recommend doing courses here.

Really enjoyable sailing taster experience. We wanted to find out whether we liked sailing - was it scary, would we feel sick, was it interesting enough...and the answer to all our questions was a resounded yes. It was fantastic made all the better by such a knowledgeable and friendly captain. We felt completely safe and learned loads even in only a few hours out. We were all engaged in the sailing - steering, winching etc - and it was also fun to see a different view of the coast around Plymouth....it really showed its history from the sea. So we thoroughly recommend sailing and Devon Sailing Experiences were great. Five stars!

We had a great time getting hands on in Plymouth Sound. The skipper was fantastic and gave us all a chance to learn something. Plus some nice swimming.

A group of us went on the experience day to assure ourselves that we would enjoy a sailing holiday. We had a super day, we were lucky that the weather was warm although slightly lacking in wind. Giles was our skipper, clearly very experienced and gave us loads of information regarding the technic of sailing, how to use the sails to best advantage, sailing etiquette and safety on board. We all tried our hand with lifting and dropping sails as well as helming. This experience day was invaluable to us and we came away with a good idea of what to expect and realised that we’d definitely have to brush up on our knots if we want to be useful crew members.

Hi,
Pay and display parking is available on Brunel Way, directly opposite the marina. The cost is £6 for 24-hours. If you are sailing with us for more than 1 day, we recommend paying using the RingGo system which enables you to pay for multiple days and update your parking remotely.
