Whilst the viewing studio is most definitely updated with comfortable seats and good acoustics the foyer is a step into the past, as are the prices. We travelled here as our local cinema was not showing what we wanted to see, but we’ll definitely be back. A touch of nostalgia.

Booked online and chose our seats. It is small but plenty of room. Clean. Would go again next time we are up on holiday.

Always accommodating, clean and GREAT VALUE! Astonishing other local cinemas in Dorchester and Yeovil can’t choose to make a modest profit rather than fleecing everyone. I drive from Sherborne and for either two or three of us - even with fuel hikes, it is cheaper to drive there for tickets, 🥤 🍿 etc than bare tickets in Yeovil.

I visit cinemas a lot, roughly 2-3 times a month and I really enjoy watching movies on a huge modern screen. However, this cinema is winning me over and becoming my go-to cinema for most movies.
Why is this?
1. The staff are fantastic. Every visit I feel like I'm treated as a valued guest rather than just another bum on a seat.
2. The cinema is immaculate. I have never seen anything out of place or messy. The toilets are spotless. My main bugbear about the larger cinemas is that the loos are always smelly, dirty and full of puddles.
3. The pricing is amazing value for money. £3.50 during the week and £4.50 at the weekend for standard seating (+ 50p booking charge if booked online).
4. The decor is awesome. When you walk through the doors you feel like you've been transported back in time due to the classic movie posters, old projection machine on display in the lobby and the art deco styling.
The only constructive feedback I can give is that the luxury/premier seats are more uncomfortable than the standard. I also find them a bit jerky to adjust. So in my opinion save that little bit extra by not sitting in the premium seats so you can spend it on their great choice of drinks and nibbles.

Great little cinema. Always come here but tonights experience was not quite up to scratch. Firstly the lights remained on for at least the first 10 minutes of the film (Death on the Nile) until a customer requested that they be turned off. Secondly at the end of the film a female member of staff told us we had to go now and tried to hurry us out in a rather curt manner. Seemed a bit unnecessary as we always like to stay and watch the credits etc at the end.
But heh ho we'll be back as this was out of the ordinary for this gem of a cinema.

This cinema in the centre of the town is a real gem. Very well run and comfortable, Very clean and tidy great value for money. I have never left a review before for any thing , but feel that this cinema deserves praise for providing a great service at a very reasonable price. A far better experience than going to the large multiplex chains.

One of the highlights of my trip to Dorchester was to visit this cinema.Once cinema s like this were on every high street.Now they are mostly gone.The cinema has been well converted into 4 cinemas.I was in Screen 1.It actually had tabs and some of the original light fittings and architecture.Congratulations to the management,and only £3.99 on a Friday night.A splendid experience.

Have been coming to this cinema for years as it is always such a good experience. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Seats are comfy and you can sit for a long time without getting uncomfortable.
Had to return again since last year and support this place. Booking process online was easy and the system does the distancing for you just choose your seats. Enjoyed my return so much returning for more in a few days time. Keep doing what you do - it is working very well during a difficult time.

Could you please tell me the pricings for popcorn and drinks and any deals. This would be information I feel should be on the website it would make planning a lot easier (apologies if it is and I just can't see it)
