The website stated the market was open on 2nd November 9. 00am - 3.00pm. We traveled all the way from Pevensey (over an hour) to arrive at 12.00pm. No market. Very disappointing.

Not the best market we have been to. Tbh boaring. Not much to see. No pet stall if your looking for one. Go to the flea market instead in the community centre

Rubbish! We got there at 11am, everyone was packing up because it was raining, even though there were plenty of people milling around. If the stall holders can't be bothered to stay, I can't be bothered to go back.

Took a trip to Rye on Thursday for the market! And had a walk around the town. Not a full day trip as only managed to spend an hour there.

This is an old fashioned open air market which seems so far removed from the cool, hipster vibe of Rye. Stalls selling plastic buckets, a huge amount of tat, who buys this stuff?

Usual selection of goods, some a bit pricey. Stay away from the small bakery stall.
Had a couple of donuts and a cream cake, very pricey but looked nice. Unfortunately they were all stale. At least one day old maybe even two.

Visited Rye last week with friends . We all loved the town but was appalled by the state of the streets. The pavements were full of weeds which gave the impression that no one cared how the place looked. Some streets had weeds that obviously been there for many many weeks. Come on Rye you can do better. You have a gem of a town spoiled because your council does not care.

A reasonable sized market,held every Thursday,with a plethora of goods on sale,all the usual bric-a-brac you associate with these places,few "bargains"to be had can get quite crowded in parts.
Bit like many markets up and down the country.

This large outdoor market lies at the foot of the beautiful ancient town of Rye. On the Thursday we visited there were 100s of stalls selling cloths food toys and household goods. There were many people with the majority wearing masks unfortunately couldn’t find a loo hence the 4 star. Afterwards we walked around the historic streets of Rye full of interesting buildings shops and restaurants. During these Covid times it was nice to visit such a lovely part of England

My husband and I attended Rye market yesterday (10th Sept) as it stated on the Platt Group site that there was social distancing, one way systems, traders wearing masks. Whilst, there were wider walkways and 2m distancing signs, no one was adhering to the 2m rule, and there was no evidence of a one way system. I had to abandon trying to purchase bread as other customers were right in my face and the same at the veg stall. Traders were not wearing masks. We left immediately. I am a huge fan of local markets and supporting market traders which I do every week in my home town. If you are going to this market and are a bit of foodie you will be disappointed. 1 x bread stall (bread looked fab) 1 x veg stall not much locally sourced produce and 1 x meat van selling bumper packs.

Market is all year round ,on Thursdays ,also worth going into Rope Walk Mews in the Market few interesting shops in there and a great cafe .

Not far from the Windmill and in a main square along the river. If you know Mermaid Street it is half way between that street and the windmill.

Ok for prams and wheelchairs. Old tarmac surface so rough in places.
