A truly special experience. I was utterly mesmerised by the Mary Rose. And the skills used to bring her back to life. You are inside the preserved remains of Henry’s ship They have on display bows musical instruments clothing. Well all that humans leave behind. Was not too keen on the skeletons. But they told the fascinating background of the crew and captain. Truly wonderful. PLEASE NOTE that if you are an Artfund member entry to the Royal Naval museum site is FREE. My only issue was I bought the ticket and then was refused a refund. The patronising operative told me it’s a charity and depended on donations. Yes mate I know this. That’s why I contribute YEARLY via the fund. Ob a white male of a certain age. The Mary Rose is an utter triumph. But do note the prices ref the website. Thanks pal! !

The staff ensured that we saw everything. They were so well informed and helpful from Lloyd checking us in to Steven making certain I got the books I desired. Our tour guide Paul is a wealth of information that made me want to see all of the aspects of the Mary Rose. A must see while in the United Kingdom. Loved everything about this well designed museum.

It's some years since we went to Portsmouth Dockyard. We had a All Year pass so we had a lot to see (PS the pass is extremely good VRM)
The welcoming team suggested that, having been several times in the past, we should focus on the two new events - the hologram sinking of the Mary Rose, and the brilliant recreation of the discovery, excavation and raising of the hull. An outstanding use of historic records, materials, photographs and modern technology.
The team were right. Magnificent !!

When I last saw the Mary Rose she was under a deluge of water, totally different now and what an exhibition, as I was not constrained by other things I was able to send about three hours there and still probably missed things! From the time I was greeted by the excellent hologram of Old Coppernose until the excellent 4D finale I was enthralled, The skeleton of Hatch (dog) was quite unexpected but the enthusiasm, knowledge and the willingness to share by the staff was amazing . Who knew that a longbow was so light, or a halberd was so heavy!
As I bought the full ticket, I will definitely be returning to see the bits I missed. Many thanks to all the staff, you were amazing.

If you have an interest in history (and old ships!) then the Mary Rose is a must see.
The artefacts on display are splendidly presented, the guides are very knowledgeable and very keen to answer any and all questions.
You can view the Mary Rose from three floors; each floor is full of cannons, weaponry, and hundreds of assorted items brought up from the sea.
If you are as fascinated as I was you'll need at least a couple of hours to walk around.
The cafe is good too!

Booked the Premier guided tour for two hours. We had more than our value for money and it stretched to three hours. Could have stayed all day.
The tour guide was superb. She knew EVERYTHING there is to know about EVERY aspect of the Mary Rose story and history, from to the crafting and creation of the ship, to it's history, sad demise and courageous recovery.
I am a big Tudor dynasty fan, but she took this to even bigger heights, and expanded my knowledge and enhanced my already massive enthusiasm.
We had the very best experience and cannot say how much we enjoyed this visit. Highly highly recommend. Thank you so very very much.

Brilliant visit this week at The Mary Rose. We had the premium tour it was two hours and cost £25. Really good value for a very informative tour. Thank you to our guide David.

Entered the museum and were met by exceedingly friendly and knowledgeable staff. Initial display by Henry V111!! Set the perfect tone for the rest of the visit. Step back into history with lovely staff great displays and a real sense of being there in Tudor times. Well done everyone

Visited early Sunday morning, difficult to find with satnav and ended up following the “brown” signs to Historic Waterfront, parking about 200m from entrance, v quiet, decent cafe on entrance to Mary Rose site.
Exhibition is a mixture of audiovisual, “immersive”, 3D cinema, displays plus views of the ship itself. All of this was very well done, very interesting and we spent a fascinating 3 hours walking around.
I cannot recommend here highly enough, we really enjoyed our trip, many thanks.

What a lovely place to visit, it was great to get so close to the ship and all the pieces bought up. The staff were very informative, helpful and friendly, best museum I have ever visited and the film at the end was great for making you understand the work involved in raising the ship.

Hi. Am I correct in thinking that the Mary Rose is no longer included in the annual dock yard ticket? I want to come with a friend and her family over the Easter holiday, so please can you tell me the cost of an annual child ticket and annual adult ticket for the dock yard, plus the cost for the Mary Rose if no longer included. Thank you.

The Historic Dockyard ticket prices can be found on their website, a Mary Rose Ticket is currently £17 for an Adult and £8 for a child., although discounts can be found online.

Please could you tell me how far is it from The Park & Ride bus stop o/s the Dock gates is it to the Mary Rose ticket office and from there to the exhibition.my friend is not very good at walking, are there wheelchairs available to use, if do where would they be.
Many th in anticipation of any help you might give me and my friend.

The Mary Rose ticket office is just 2 minutes walk from the Park & Ride stop, bus station and harbour train station. At the ticket office ask for 'the buggy'. A free shuttle service to/from the museum. Wheelchairs and light--weight stools are available for visitors. The museum is fully wheelchair accessible.
Also, the museum is kept low lit to protect the artefacts and to create a stunning atmosphere. However, the morning of the fourth Friday of each month the lights are raised to engage with visitors with visual impairment and those with physical and medical conditions.

At this time an adult ticket is £16, concessions are £14 and Children are £8, although currently there's a "Kids Go Free" offer, running until 2nd September 2018.
You get 10% off if you book online via the Mary rose website.

Is there a separate entrance to the Mary Rose exhibition or do you have to go through via The Historic Dockyard entrance?

The Mary Rose Experience is at the right hand side of the Dockyard entrance, it is a charity so you can gift aid and also, the tickets are valid for one year. You can then purchase any other tickets from the ticket office on the other side. These are usually day tickets, so if you have several days, you can come back to the Mary Rose several times.

You could easily spend the whole day, the main areas would be Mary Rose, victory and warrior
I would say 2 hours Mary rose, hour each of others, but there is so much to see in Portsmouth Dockysrd x

I would set aside about 1.5 to 2 hours for the Mary Rose Museum alone...I don’t think the other places in the dockyard would take as long to go round though. For example my partner & I spent about 30-45 minutes exploring the HMS Victory ship.
