Unwelcoming pub with uncomfy seating more like a bar than a pub. Not even Shakespeare themed in any way. Generic hipster vibe. Avoid. Go to Lady Luck if you want to see the real Canterbury. Its a gem.

Booked for a table of 7 for pre show dinner, service was slow to come out and take drink orders & food. Once the food came out we had to collar one of the wait staff for another round of drinks as no one had been near the table.
Following the meal, no one came back to the table, we were sat chatting and noticed after an hour that no one had come to take any more orders or take plates etc away. Went up to the bar to ask if we ordered drinks/request the bill there and were told that someone would come over in a minute. Eventually gave up and went back to the bar to pay the bill.
Looking at other patrons it seems that we were not the only ones who experienced terrible service, even tables of two seemed to wait an age before being able to order food/drinks.
This all would have been off putting enough but the toilets were absolutely revolting. Sanitary bin over flowing, there were no hand towels left and no other hand drying facilities. The toilet looked as though it hadn't been cleaned in months and the sink was absolutely filthy, covered in scum and mould.
Safe to say none of us will be back.

This is a lovely pub near the cathedral. It probably doesn't have to work too hard to get tourists through it's doors, it oozes olde worlde charm.
However, they do work very hard once you are in the pub. Service was friendly, with everyone working to provide a top experience. We had a gin and a coffee and also, some beetroot falafel and a meat platter. Food was fine as well, if a tad expensive for what you got, hence only four stars. The meat platter was served with bread sticks, I personally think some pieces of Parisian stick would be nice and complement the meats better. But, hey, I'm not the chef and we would definitely give it another go for both food and drink

Nice city centre pub located near the cathedral, a Shepherd Neame offering an good selection of local beverages and food.

Popped in for a quick drink and a snack before starting our day.
We ordered some sandwiches and chips and they were very nice, the sandwiches themselves were very flavoursome , in fact the only reason I have not given this five out of five for this review is the bread for the sandwich was a ‘little shop bought loaf’ in appearance.
For me thought it was the customer service that stood out. The initial chap that welcomed us at the bar was lovely and the chap that bought our food over is customer service personified.

Really nice friendly pub visited a couple of times the food is lovely very clean staff great nice outdoor space :)

Cosy pub, friendly service and ideal place for pub lunch. Highly recommend the fish finger sandwich - tasty goujons of cod, fresh thick granary bread.

Me and a friend came to this pub and what a delight. We we're served by Joe who was a polite and attentive host. Service was quick and Joe was a great chat. 5/5 service.

Stuart is the most amazing man! He was very helpful and very informative! Will definitely visit again after the service he gave me and my friend!

Stopped here for a pint, a cuppa, and some chips. All were very nice. The staff were also very accommodating and funny to be around. Would recommend for a quick drink and a snack. Would have stayed for dinner but had only popped to Canterbury on our way home.
