A fantastic guided free walking tour on Thursdays and Saturdays around the Old Town. Loads of history and entertaining tales. Our guide was Ian an ex sailor. Many fabulous buildings and museums.

Visited today for the first time. Well presented and really interesting. Definitely recommended. Something for everyone.

several museums in this area that had lovely grounds. the museums are free but they have cash donations pots if you want to support them. however, I didn't have cash and was unable to donate by card. so it was definitely free!

We werden aardig ontvangen. Het museum is leuk voor kinderen. Wij hebben wel vaker een dergelijk museum bezocht, dus in dat opzicht niet bijzonder. Wel fijn dat de toegang gratis is.

Lots of interesting exhibits charting you through the history of the East Riding, excellent Roman mosaics and I'm sure everybody loves the mammoth, the old wooden boat was particularly interesting as to its conservation.

A brilliant walk through time for the East Riding. The displays are excellent and a good mixture of information and visual treats

We weren't sure what to expect but were pleasantly surprised by our visit. Very friendly staff and the museum was very interesting. We took a long time to go round reading everything and found out lots of information. Very impressed with what we saw and both enjoyed it.
Only downside that is a little dark in places, possibly to protect the exhibits, and they've gone overboard with the amount of hand sanitiser available. There seemed to be some in every corner which is quite unnecessary but presumably is a council edict!

The museum leads you through a history from the ice age with a life size mammoth towering above you to fantastic Roman mosaics. Many cabinets with artifacts in and reconstructions of how life was. Well worth a visit and Streetlife museum is next door to it, completely different but also well worth seeing.

Chunks of the museum was not open to view. The lighting is so bad it is difficult to read labels etc.m let alone get a good view of the artefacts. It all felt a bit tired. Some interesting exhibits though, so bring a torch or use your phone light!

Has a very interesting Roman collection, the mosaics are incredible to see and well worth a visit alone. The museum also has a preserved Ferriby boat which can be seen on display but unfortunately the section dedicated to the collection is currently closed due to covid, so I didn't get to learn a great deal about them.
A varied collection with lots of information boards.
The museum currently has a one-way system in place and sections are closed off to the public, which is a shame as some of the collections I wanted to see (Celtic, part of the Roman display and medieval displays) weren't open. However the museum is free to enter so I will try and go back when the whole museum is open.
