Myself, my brother, father and brother in law's all visited late last December as a Christmas trip out and it certainly did not disappoint!
As massive Jennings beer fans we thoroughly enjoyed seeing the historic brewery coupled with the modern brewing process. The brewery itself is a stunning old building and lovely scenery which was shown to us by a lovely tour guide ( I cannot for the life of me remember his name ) but he was a real credit to the brewery!
After the tour we had a few pints in the bar and it was a great atmosphere, where all the people from the tour all had a good chat. Afterwards we bought loads of merchandise and a few pints of beer and glasses for the trip home as my dad was driving who's a non drinker! Even he had a great time! Can't wait to come again and sample the new beers in house! Thanks again !

Best brewery trip ever. Phil was perfect knowledgeable and passionate tour guide. So clear and understandable. Lovely personality and sense of humour. Marstons have a real asset in this guy. Great vfm and 3 halves and port at the end meant so much more after the tour.

Great day out especially if the weather is bad. Tour guide is excellent, enthusiastic and gave a thorough introduction to the Brewey, its history and the bree3wing process. Add it to your itinerary.

I've been to about half a dozen brewery tours and this was the best that I've been on. Our tour guide was Lisa and she started with the Jennings' family history and the history of the brewery upto date. This was very well presented. This followed on with a walk outside to see where the well, used to draw the water, was situated.
We were taken around the brewery itself after this and Lisa showed us the entire brewing process with great aplomb.
At the end we went into the bar for a few samples and we're encouraged to have a go at pumping our own drinks. We bought a bottle of Jennings port afterwards and have enjoyed a couple of glasses at home since. You can get 10% off purchases on the day. Highly recommended, as is the beer itself

This was the second time we have visited the brewery over a few years, the tour it informative and tells you all about the brewing process and you get a good look round. After tour you get to go in the pub style area where you get 3 half pints of different beers they do to sample so try not to be designated driver!! ,tho they did have soft drinks also this is all included in price.
There is a well stocked shop for you to take beer home with you which we did!
Very good couple of hours spent there.

We enjoyed this tour, and at only £19 for the 2 of us was really good value. Your guide, Phil, was very friendly and knowledgeable, made the whole tour a good afternoon. Just couldn't understand how so many people on tour were driving so couldn't sample the beer afterwards! All the more for us !!

We visited cockermouth by bus today from Keswick, its £10.50 return but you may be able to get better priced day tickets.
We came across a sign for brewery tours so popped along £9.50pp including 3 half pint tasters. Very informative and interesting tour finished off with a good hour in the bar afterwards tasting various beers including pulling your own pint! Great value for money.

Having a rare day off whilst house hunting we decided to go on the Jennings brewery tour.
We booked online and duly rocked up at the given time.
Our tour guide was Jane, a rather disinterested guide who got annoyed when an Italian family translated for their children.
Throughout the tour she regularly referred to Marston's brewery, who rescued them, sadly she was wrong on what she said. As a former resident of Burton on Trent, I am very aware of how Marston's brew their beet and it's nothing like Jennings.
She also said every brewery in the Midlands has a marmite factory next door, in fact Marmite was only ever made in Burton on Trent, but the factory was never next door to the brewery.
Jane really needs to get her facts right.
After the most boring brewery tour I've ever been on, we went back to the small bar, there we were able to try 3 half pints of beer, sadly they were not to my taste, far too hoppy and had a strange after taste.
Crackers appeared with various chutneys but no butter or cheese. The whole point of chutney is to enhance the flavour of cheese,so tasting them on dry crackers really defeated the object. A very small taster of port appeared, which was ok but I wouldn't rush out and buy it.
Overall don't waste your money here, head to the Ennerdale Brewery instead and get some great microbrewery beer.

4 of us booked. The group was a bit too many I think as we were following the guide in and out of nooks and crannies and up and down stairs. Lots of historic information to learn about the brewery and its beers. The guide was very knowledgeable and we ended with 3x half pints of choice to taste as well as a port taster too. Good value, worth a look.

Hi, my Husband and I are visiting the Lakes next weekend for a short trip and wanted to visit a local brewery during our stay; we have a 5 and 7 yr old and would like to know if it would be suitable for them as I don't want us to look like we've dragged our children along so we can spend the day sampling beer! Thankyou.

I think that Jennings brewery has an age limit of twelve years for the tours, but why not phone and ask them. They may have another solution.

Hello! Do you allow dogs? :)

You are welcome to bring a dog into the shop - but they can't go onto the tour due to health and safety.
Many thanks
