Get a coffee, or tea, and go and sit on a bench and watch the river run by. You might see some ducks.😁

A beautiful park in a great location. Lots of things to see and do. Fantastic scenery and a nice river which you can walk along. A variety of wildlife can also be found in the park. A great place to take a walk.

This is a picturesque park with lawn tennis, boules, a cafe, numerous sports facilities, and a scenic garden abutting a small river. A tranquil place to spend an hour or two.

Walked from Keswick town centre through the park along the riverbank, taking photos of the beautiful scenery. We spent a while in the park before crossing the bridge on our way to crow Park and Derwentwater.
Lovely and peaceful park fir everyone with lots of activities.
Will visit again.

Our holiday in the North/Western Lakes entered it’s closing-weekend. We decided to explore this substantial public park, landscaped during the Victorian times. The park is located to the north of Keswick town-centre beyond the River Greta.
The Greta derives it’s name from the old Norse word ‘Griótá’ meaning ‘stony stream’. The Greta rises in hills near Threlkeld just under 14 miles east of Keswick. The Greta forms most of the park boundary with the town. It then flows into the River Derwent just beyond the point where the Derwent flows-out of Derwentwater: thus the water from the Greta does not flow into Derwentwater.
The park is divided into two main areas. The Lower Park (west of Station Road) has a modest open area, used mainly for recreational activities: notably cricket. It is the home of the Keswick Cricket Club which boasts an attractive cricket pavilion. There is also a kid’s playground, a multi-use games and gym area, and a BMX track. The Upper Park (east of Station Road) is a smaller, much more formal, area with bowling and putting greens, grass tennis courts, gardens and an arboretum.
We decided to walk around this well-presented park as the weather was cheerful and warm. It was a good hour’s ramble through gardens and along the riverbanks in places. I’m not sure we saw it all, but we saw plenty of trees and plants. If we missed anything then that’s OK; we are content with what we saw, and that was good enough for us. There’s always another time.
The Upper Park features Café West housed in the substantially-built Keswick Museum, and the less formal café HNW which is cycle and cyclist-orientated. We didn’t visit either one, as we wanted to walk whilst the weather was with us. Again there’s always another time.

Beautifully maintained park, plenty of level paths in the park and alongside the river Greta. Formal gardens, beautiful trees, open space, bowls, tennis etc. It was a lovely place to just sit on a bench and enjoy the surroundings (especially whilst enjoying an ice-cream from the little kiosk). An hour or so is enough for a walk around, or you could spend much longer and take a picnic

A must see..beautiful trees and flowers. The park is kept very well and extremely well manicured. Wooden carvings are a joy to look out for.

Nice big park to walk through.
Beautiful in the sunshine.
Good size play area.
Plenty of sporting activities and nice little cafe.
Highly recommend a visit.
Some areas need TLC but to be expected.
Local youth hangout in places but to be expected (we were all young once)

A great dog walking place if you are staying in Keswick. Safe to let dogs off lead and nice and flat for a run. There is a nice pathed circular walk past the museum and along the river. Lots of sporty things to do or watch and a small play park. Best find was a great new BMX track up on the hill!
